7:57 maybe it's because it's been that color for my whole life, but I unironically like Mind Eraser's current color scheme and I never understood why everyone hated it, yes its horrifically rough and the last time I rode it I was 14 and durable, but I still thought it was fun :) also I will say the renovation is a 100% great thing, and my copium for a Raptor near it is now going strong that sounds like it'd be a great idea
I agree they should do it black and purple , and you always have such great ideas wish they would listen to you. Not going this year but I hope to get back there in 2025 and experience the new mind eraser.
I think it all depends on if they're going to theme it or not, the green and purple would be good if they're theming it to the Joker if Six Flags decides to bring the DC comics back into the park.
Now that Mind Eraser is getting improvements, I’m hoping Ride of Steel will get improvements, too, like getting a second train and maybe renaming it back to Superman: Ride of Steel.
6:45 They could replace it with a Zamperla Super Flumez and family coaster combo like the ones at Luna Park NY and Adventureland in Iowa and still have room.
This parks whole ownership situation really sets back it's improvements. Epr properties, the park owner, foots the bill when it's time for an upgrade to the park. It would nice is sf would buy it back, the park looks like it's still sruck in it's premier parks days. With the whole cf merger who knows what will happen.
I've also been saying that for years now, but they have put money in the park this past off-season with more Titan Track on Predator (about 900ft.), replaced 3 sections of track on the Boomerang, and made repairs to The Big Kahuna waterslide and doing all that without removing anything lol.
I've ridden one SLC, Mind Eraser at SFA. I didn't know it was the most literal name ever as it erased my mind.😵💫 Having said that, nice to hear a SLC is getting a refurb but YOU FIRST! 🤣
I rode mind eraser in 2023 and i personally think the layout has tons of potential that gets squandered by the restrains and track profiling. It's a super fun experience with some pretty intense elements and a lot of cool near miss moments But it was just hard for me to want to come back to it and re-ride. It's not exactly easy to run in line for a ride that'll inevitably leave you with a headache. and this is coming from someone who loves rough, out of control feeling rides like Predator all in all I'm super excited that this ride gets to live up to its full potential also i appreciate the fact that theyre giving it two train ops. the line got pretty long sometimes on busy days and will definitely be longer after the upgrades. and as bad as DL's operations are, I cant see them running one train all the time like they do with tantrum, because theyre going out of their way to buy two and only running one would be a massive waste of money
You know what...... if this bit works out well, I kinda hope that it catches on and more parks fix their SLC's in the near future. Honestly, the SLC layout is pretty good. The Mind Eraser that was at Geauga Lake (currently at Michigan's Adventure I think) actually rode quite decent, and it was enjoyable.
@@markvolpe2305 Canada's wonderland should have removed that, and the zamperla torture device a long time ago. That park is one of the best performing parks in the chain, and yet has those 2 TERRIBLE rides. It's actually a shame.
i live in wymoning county in NY, that far from darien lake. we have had season passes in the past. the cost has gone up significantly and the content has become stale, it's the same old same old. it is good to see them finally do something with this park
I paid appx 500 for 5 passes and one dining plan last year. To get the same value, it would be 1850. Darien lake is also a dump compared to the other parks.
Well as of 8/16 they have started painting Mind Eraser, and it looks like they are definitely keeping the red track, and likely the turquoise supports.
Man my luck is running out this year. Both Steel Curtain and Mind Eraser closed after I planned to go there, but before I could ride them. Hopefully this means Ride of Steel will have some new changes too in the future and I will have a new renovated credit!
Maybe they could take a look at Wildwood Grove for Rowdy's Ridge and take the woodland/mountain vibe into account (maybe a connection to the Willow Lake named that Google calls the pond adjacent to the ride). Kids coaster kind of in the way for the path, but could easily move it to Mind Eraser Plaza. Tantrum, Viper, and adjacent kids area into Country Fair, Steamtown anchored by Sky Screamer and Motocoaster, Predator and Ride of Steel into DC Universe, Hurricane Harbor, and then the front bit could be rethemed to reflect the Western New York cities in their prime, with a new area eventually replacing their splash boats and original water park
Great news! Unfortunately I get the perception that a lot of the GP won't even know or care and they'll still skip the coaster, no matter what improvements they do to it. So stubborn! :(
They could always do what they did with Great Noreaster. They ran ads saying it was so smooth that even your granny can ride it. Then they had a bunch of grannies ride it for a commercial.
Like the upgrades in the park, would love to see the blacktop disappear and the idea of themed areas would be awesome. Where ME sits there’s just nothing, long walk across a bridge for one ride then right back over the bridge. In a perfect world they could build up that area and maybe make it a loop that connects else where to the park
That would take money to do. They dont want to spend money on this park. Great adventure has added a roller coaster a year for the last couple years. They also maintain the park.
Six Flags will continue to do the bare minimum they need to keep the open. Just enough to keep the they are a theme park. They have removed so many rides they have not been replaced, because the property is so unimportant to the Six Flags portfolio. Who knows, by next year maybe they will just have park open on Tuesdays and Saturdays and they will burn the Predator to the fround
Cedar fair will wait to see how these refurbishments go first. They have gotten out of the business of being the first ones to do the next new things anymore.
Glad to see something happening, I did read that Darien Lake is at the bottom of the list with Cedar Fair in terms of dumping money into the park, especially since they don't own the land at Darien Lake
@@markvolpe2305 Not sure what the plan is for Flight Deck. But, tracks for the new 2025 coaster is supposd to be arriving in a month or 2 at the park. Still is a secret what the ride is, but Cedar Fair is spending in the neighborhood of over $25 million on this ride, and the mountain is part of the ride.
It's so annoying when coaster youtubers talk about how high rollercoasters are on the their rankings list as if any of us care about what your rankings are. As for the video, hate to break it to you but the river rapids aren't coming back especially with how long it's been sitting...

Actually, it’s green and purple in the thumbnail.

I did hear some rumors about that happening, would be the next logical move!
Great to hear that.
It would be great. That coaster is WAY too good to look as neglected as it does. I said the exact same thing about I-305 a while back.
Or what if the straight track had a little hill of something
@@amusementscapeI talked to the park president and he said they’re repainting it and getting a seconds train and a cover over the queue
I love how they specified two trains, its like they see that running a hyper with one train hurts the park's attendance and reputation.
6:45 They could replace it with a Zamperla Super Flumez and family coaster combo like the ones at Luna Park NY and Adventureland in Iowa and still have room.
I think that’s a great idea! Another family coaster would be nice, plus another water ride would certainly be appreciated

Six Flags Darien Lake and America are basically sister parks, so when they announced this for America, I knew Darien Lake’s wouldn’t be long after.
It’s not getting re tracked unfortunately they just repainted it and gave it new trains

They show rename the coaster to Professor Freebish Electric Roller Ride if they decide to go the Steampunk route
I could see Six Flags doing similar to SFA with their former Mind Easer just not that heavy themed if that makes sense
They already repainted it and hopefully new trains from Vekoma
Dream would be for it to get the great noreaster treatment! So hopefully the reprofiling is substantial
Same here!
correction: Professor Screamore's Skywinder
Not Sidewinder

Mind Eraser renovation should have happened years ago. My only hope, is Viper gets the same treatment, and new Vekoma trains.
I can only hope.
If they replace the restraints on the train to reduce head banging this will be a good ride
THANK GOD (six flags has to do this for Flight Deck at CW)

Is this just SF doing this? Because a renovation would be good for many SLCs. My first one was the gauntlet at magic springs.
I saw DL’s Mind Eraser was getting an upgrade and I assumed it was being torn down. Oh, well.
Good for us.
idk if they have enough money to make an raptor. I hope they do though, would boost the whole park uo
