I've been here 3 years, it is NOT worth it - new (substandard) builds (i.e., DR Horton), but still pricey, no jobs, only 1 store (a very dirty Walmart), few restaurants, horrible traffic (US380), high property taxes (PID) and HOAs, and many more CONS - than pros. I'm moving soon. Growing pains? Somewhat, but that doesn't account for all the nastiness. Please do your research before paying these housing prices.
@thedfwhomeowner I'd go further into East Texas. There's lots of small towns, more country with close access to the bigger (already established) city and less people.
Considerating Princeton will be at more than 100,000 people in 10-15 years people should not move there for a small town feel. People really only move to Princeton because it is cheaper than other places. The traffic will get worse until ar least 2032 when the new US 380 alignement is complete. Everything North of the current US 380 is expected to still have traffic congestion after 2032. The new US 380 will have very few underpasses in Princeton so it will always be difficult ro go north south. In the next four years FM 982, FM 75, FM 1827, the current alignment of US 380 and the new US 380 will all be having major construction. The current US 380 will have the speed limit permanently reduced to 40 MPH in all of Princeton. There will also be as many as 10 more red lights put in over the next year.
