I don't miss my house in Liberty. To go anywhere outside of the area you would be in such bad traffic. I went to visit a few weeks ago and we got stuck at the red lights for soooo long (they are everywhere). Some parts I miss, most of it I don't. I do think it's a good city but it has grown to large and there is to much happening.
I'm a big fan of the Liberty neighborhood. I see what you're saying though. I was just showing some homes nearby and it's getting busier over in Melissa for sure. Will be crazy in the next 3-5 years after more development has happened!
@@jayj8513 I would say the Little Elm area but I moved out of state a few years back! Arkansas is a very good state to move to btw. Texarkana is another amazing place to move to!
The Collin county dump is located just outside Melissa, the smell is beyond terrible. There is also a pig or chicken farm behind the dump that you simply can’t drive by. Looking for a house, avoid anything on the east side of town.
Rent is about $2,500. It’s built very close to landfill and cow feed. The smell is too much and we can’t understand why the city would allow construction with that type of smell.
Recently had a buyer purchase a home in Liberty from out of state. We went door to door at Liberty to ask random neighbors to ensure they didn't smell it over there, thankfully they didn't, but I definitely know the smell is prevalent around town.
Love the community but I just don’t think it’s environmentally friendly. I’m starting to see more homes up for sale now. New homebuyers are getting on the HOA Facebook or Ring app expressing their disbelief. Melissa is a red flag if you care about clean air. If it’s not a factor for you, then Melissa is the BEST place to live.
Not sure why you didn't mention the dump (landfill) as one of the cons. It stinks like crazy in Melissa, especially when the wind is blowing from that direction.
the traffic is fucking obscene, the town stinks because of a feed lot within 2 miles of every single residential neighborhood, and there’s no grocery store

Mike hiiii I work at Bucees and live here in Melissa. Directly behind the new Kroger’s that is almost complete. Thank you for the video.
Thanks for tuning in. I’m sure it stays very busy at your work
I used to live near Melissa. You’d think more businesses would be relocating there by now
I would think so too
Sounds like a giant school system in Melissa.

I live here now and the traffic is bad. The smell is bad too. Where’s a good place to live if not Melissa?

Heb. I’m there!!
Yep!

Thanks for sharing! Yeah that dump is definitely something to be aware of
Melissa or Denison??? For a family with 3 active and gifted boys.
I graduated from Denison and I must say - if I needed to choose between these two, it’d be Melissa.
That’s what I thought .. I’m very impressed by Melissa. But the job is in Denison. Not that bad of a drive though…
@@heatherwallace3397 my oldest is a senior at Denison. The schools, athletics, etc have better ratings in Melissa.

that feed lot does smell bad!
Between the feed lot (east) and the dump (north) depending on the wind it can get nasty. Wish I knew that prior to buying in Liberty.
