finally a tutorial that shows you practically how to fly for the very first time, very useful for beginners like me who have never ever had a drone, excellent tutorial superb, pity only for the English language, I will help myself with the subtitles, thanks endless!
Speaking from the future obviously, but DJI now has some updated firmware for the Mini 2 batteries, so make sure to insert every battery you own into the drone and power it on to update the firmware before you fly. Also please keep in mind that this update will cause the batteries to self-discharge to 70-60% over the course of several weeks if left unused, even if they're left in the drone or powered battery carrying case. This is normal and helps preserve the battery life significantly.
March 2nd, 2021. I can't stop flying my mini 2. This thing is so addictive. Day, night, I don't care. And I haven't taken it out of Cine mode because for now that is WAY fast enough, it's still on the 1080 settings, and it takes GREAT Video. Get the combo pack. Well worth the money. It's so easy to fly. And the carry case that the combo pack comes with is really nice. And the Blade Strap is cool. Yeah. Best money I've spent in years. And Video's like these make it so much more fun. Thanks for a Great series of Video's on the mini 2. I'm loving it.

How can anyone give part 1 & part 2 video a thumbs down? Ed, thank you so much for taking the time on this Tutorial and putting in the time stamps too. ~ Paul
Thank you so much Mr. Ed Ricker, I just purchased my mini 2 and still in doubt about flying. I was looking for videos for safety flying setup and only your video explained clearly to me. Specially tha RTH Altitude is the most important of all. I am afraid of crashing my drone on trees haha, before landing. Now, am going to the part 2. Thank you once again!
I have just ordered one of these and in anticipation of it's arrival, tried to install the DJI Fly app on my Samsung Galaxy J6+ which according to DJI is compatible with the App. However while the download was fine, it would not install. "DJI App not Installed." More research took me to the DJI forum where I learned that lots of other people were having the same issue on phones also according to DJI are compatible. So, if you're thinking about ordering one of these, I suggest you to install the App on your phone first.
Just ordered my mini 2 got the combo package from best buy. This will be my very first done definitely going with the dji coverage for the done. Thanks for great tips and information
I had a Mavic Mini but I underestimated the height of the trees across the street and now my original Mavic Mini is up in a tree about 100' . I immediately went out and bought a Mavic Mini 2 to replace it. The Mini 2 would not link up completely with the controller using the DJI fly app that I used for the original Mini. It looked like it linked, I got the blinking yellow, the single beep then the double beep but when I went back to the camera screen I got no camera, I got a "controller not connected" message and controller inputs would not work. It also didn't ask to activate until I uninstalled the old app and installed the new one. The "find drone" feature on the app worked but that was about it. After changing many settings, changing cables and cursing at it for about an hour I had to uninstall DJI fly app and search for a newer version of the DJI fly app that worked with the Mini 2. It's all good now but I was getting a bit pissed, the quick start guides are useless, most of what worked for other people did not work for me but I found one comment where the person said you have to update the app. I couldn't find and update, I couldn't update the app and the app I had didn't link so I couldn't update the firmware. I had to replace the old app with the new one. I'm using a Samsung S8 if anyone else has the same issue. I does seem like Apple users have less issues.
Excellent excellent video. I have flown the DJI phantom 4 and just recently got the mini 2 and you pointed out a couple of things I never used before one of them being the gps map in the bottom left corner for shortest distance home by looking at that. Nice 👍
Hey dude i know this is a old video but this helped me.out tremendously. Everything is explained very well and made it super easy to fly for the first time. So I appreciate this alot 👍
Very succinct. Liked it. I've seen a lot of starter tutorials by now, having bought my drone and begun my flying 'career' the end of last year or so. But I'm glad I subscribed. You are very on point in your discussions, so thank you and Happy Holidays.
Brilliant, I’ve just brought one 😁. Should be in the post today 🤞. I’ve watched many, many videos on flying this but not many first time switching it on videos. Yours is very informative 👏👍. Can’t wait to start learning with this drone 😉. On to part two, learning to fly 😊
What I've noticed with all these videos, for people that are not very tech savvy like myself they fail to mention that you need to turn on WiFi, cellular data and GPS on your mobile phone whereas the controller with the inbuilt screen has this function. If you have the mini 2 or the mini 2 se as your first drone I think this information should be mentioned as nobody does and this info is valuable info.
Good point! One thing to remember also is that the controller with the build-in screen does not have cellular data, so you'd have to hotspot from your phone in that case. But yes, your phone needs to have every connectivity feature turned on for sure.
@@EdRickerVlogs I couldn't work out why I was only getting the homepoint symbol and the drone symbol in the attitude or maps feature.
