@@PG-gs5vb What everyday tasks? I work on mine with heavy CAD files (4 to5 open at the same time), structural FEM software and GIS software, it works without a hitch. It clearly it's not a gaming laptop, the size and thickness of it should be the 1st sign of it.

I'm a huge fan of OLED, my main "monitor" is an LG G3 OLED TV. I run at 120hz and it works and looks amazing. I like Zenbooks, their prices drop pretty fast as well, so if you like this one just wait a bit and grab it at under $1000. Patience is indeed a Zen-like virtue after all 😊 As always, great review Mr. Dweeb!
I just bought the slightly lower spec 16GB version with a 1200p OLED monitor but same CPU. And it is currently an amazing deal @ BestBuy. I paid under $800 for it. It is my son's HS graduation present and he loves it. He was sort of hoping for a MacBook Air but he said he likes this laptop better since he can play his usual games on it. Battery life is simply amazing when doing just normal stuff. I think that's due to the 2 low power efficiency cores. I was watching HD video via TH-cam and in about 2 hours of playback battery only went down 15%. Or about 14 hours from 100 to 0.
LMAO. Had a baby named Russ... That's hysterical. I have to say, you have some of the most entertaining videos. Yes, informative, but always with a smile. This one is one of the more amusing ones. Thanks TD. This was great.
without measuring anything, one thing that looks zen about that laptop is that the trackpad is centered. i hate it when manufacturers put the trackpad/touchpad to the left. it ruins the entire look and make it biased to left handers instead of being ambidextrous and balanced and centered. that is a dealbreaker and why i skipped certain laptops like thinkpads and dells.
can you review the amd 8840hs version of this laptop as well? i would like to know whether the less powerful amd processor is worth the reduction in power consumption. btw great vid!!
In the words of famous philosopher Alan Watts "Zen does not confuse spirituality with thinking about God while one is peeling potatoes. Zen spirituality is just to peel the potatoes." So maybe it's good for peeling potatoes on? I dunno maybe just playing games and read about Zen on it every now and again
Hihihi. DM. I love it. I see it. I have my NUC Laptop for it.^^ Edit say. But becouse of you i love that little thing too. My one has a Arc a730m inside. I love her. She is fast enought for everything i would play with.
Hmm, maybe I will get this one. I usually play indie games, and visual novels. I kinda wanted something light and powerful. I had a Macbook for work for the last 2 years. And it's a great machine for everything besides gaming. Will check this one later in the year.
People need to understand that a slim laptop with impressive specs won’t mean it is built for gaming. This is more of an office laptop, not a gaming laptop. When you firstly buy it, it will probably try its very best and thus making its performance worse in the future. Use it for what it is built for.
If you're still looking to get a new laptop soon after returning this one, I can definitely recommend the Asus Creator laptop (the i9 version in particular). I was recently shopping for an OLED laptop, and was very close to getting the Zenbook. Although, the Creator has pretty much all the same specs, some extra IO, and seems to regularly go on sale for $300+ off at BestBuy. I've seen it go for as low as $900 before, and for that price it's an absolute steal. Just some food for thought. :)
While I would love the Ausu laptop line I’ve burned by them so many times. I bought the 2022 g14 and it died 13 months later due to gpu failure and Asus wanted me to pay more then it was worth new to fix. If you plan on buying a ASUS product please know Asus has terrible QA and software/ driver support so buy the extended warranty. As for me you couldn’t pay me to touch Asus even for free.
Yeah I'm not a laptop gamer. It's neat to do, but I'd way rather play on a PC or a handheld. Laptops are the middle ground that ends up being the worst of both worlds.
Why does it feel like no matter what generation, Intel's iGPUs try to not do well for games? Pathetic. As for the laptop, not a fan of OLED (never used one, but hate burn in), 16GB of RAM is not enough for anything serious/demanding for a laptop without a dGPU. Can someone please explain to me what is the point of having 14 and 15 inch laptops with 1800p screens and not even having a powerful dGPU to run that screen resolution? Combined with the limited RAM, it's like a joke. And I am not referring just to this make/model. There are others like it.
Compared to the mini PC’s you usually cover, this thing is about the same but severely overpriced. Also, noticed you didn’t give your usual “They didn’t influence this review” disclaimer. Lol.
What if you formatted the drive and did a clean install of Windows? Would it be better? I always do a fresh install without all the clutter and bloatware a manufacturer provides.
i had a asus tuf a15 2022 and it had random reboots on windows but not on linux except if you use the ethernet on linux without switching the driver from r8169 to r8168 driver and i could not find a solution for the problem on windows and what happened exactly and even if i did find one the reboots were really random so it was not easy to solve anyway.... a lot of people on reddit have crashes and just bad experiences with asus tuf laptops not sure about the other laptops from asus tho but i would not recommend buying any asus laptop (but that's just my opinion after the problems i had with my laptop and when i saw a lot of other people having the same issue) however i did get my money back and i bought an lenovo laptop and i have had a really good experience with it :)
I love my Zenbook S13 Oled. It's my first ever laptop and everything about it feels premium. Maybe in the future I'll get this Zenbook 14 for more screen.
Interesting about the bloatware, because the new Zenbook with the Ultra 7 and 5 processor have no bloatware or McAfee, it's pretty much clean besides My Asus.
Dudeeee I thought I had my volume on low during the intro, the moment I turned it up, "Die you mother...." 🥲 and I was at home, if it were any other youtuber I would've thrown hands but you get a pass😤
Great video! Though, this is like a PS5, when I am looking for a Switch. Do you have a favorite Chuwi laptop if one wants to run Windows 11, use stream movies/TV shows, has a decent screen size, and maybe play some indi games? Like looking in the $200-350 USD? No Chromebooks
Holy Zen Review Batman, that intro was awesomely funny! And the polish and production on this review video is top tier stuff! From the lighting, to the sound effects, and the fonts! Great job! The only thing missing for me, is that with my old eyes, I prefer a 15.6" laptop with a full keyboard including the number pad.
Nice review. I have the last gen zenbook flip and the OLED is just magic. The whole thing beat my expectations in every area. And for gaming I plug a GPD G1 eGPU in the thunderbolt ;)
Meh. I wouldn't pay $1400 for this thing. $800 is a desirable deal, maybe start at $900. Macstatussymbol Air is like a grand, including the Apple tax. I think this kind of machine should compete on price with that. Same price, better specs. It's really not a gaming machine. Also, why that resolution? Give me a normal resolution please. With the lack of GPU horsepower, 1080p is plenty, especially with that pixel density. Also, just my two cents, I'd be careful about turning your channel into an infomercial channel. If you want to be a reviewer, you can't get credibility back. I wouldn't trust a reviewer who does mostly cool tech stuff and then gushes on a huge tech company out of nowhere. The manufacturers will know you'll play ball with a good review in exchange for free hardware and expect it.
So basically this is really good for everyday tasks and some indie gaming
and Minecraft
Quite underwhelming for the price.

Good review but you are filming in a dark environment, not very suitable for presenting a product and especially the design.
