New subscriber who has wanted to get into pc emulation for a couple years, and for whatever reason just never have. Finding these handheld emulators, especially the ones pre setup from a company such as litnxt, seem like a perfect entry way into the hobby/emulation of classics(I know, this is just a start to a dangerous rabbit hole of handhelds haha). Come payday gonna snag a mini and mini + for myself, and another + as a gift for a family member from litnxt. Thanks for covering and providing a ton of information on what to expect. Cheers!
First off thx for this video. Super long day at work but the comfortable vibes were spot on 😇 I have to say it took me over a month of binging your channel and several others b4 I locked in on the RG353M but I freaking love that thing. I almost got the 405M but it seemed like there were multiple hardware issues. No regret with the 353M at all. It’s sleek, plays everything up to most of Saturn and some psp. Controls are comfortable. All the features like Bluetooth, Internet, 2 sd slots, etc. It’s awesome!! I haven’t even loaded all the roms I want on it yet! ArcOS is pretty solid too. I take it everywhere. I don’t play it everywhere but knowing that it’s there and I can is somehow very comforting. Been playing Star ocean translated on SNES also Kirby’s dreamland 3, yoshi’s island on SNES. Lots of SNES but I didn’t have one growing up and it scratches that retro itch perfectly.
Congrats for the 100k ! Funny you talk about the Miyoo Mini, as I saw it was available just like 1 week ago. I purchased one on a whim, it’s the one I always wanted for the reasons you detailed in your video. Can’t wait to have it !
I know you made this video like 30 times in different ways, but I still have to agree. The original Miyoo Mini is still my favorite emulation handheld and the only one I frequently use, even after buying the Plus version and several other handhelds like it.
Great review! Like some of the other guys, I came for the review but stayed ( and subscribed ) for your style 😂 I would love to see a Miyoo mini settings indepth review from you also. Everything from display settings in onion os, down to the lets say GB and GBA settings / filter and overlays in RetroArch. That would be awesome.
Such a beautiful video ♡ I love how you talk about handhelds and gaming and this video reaches a peak, when it comes to that. "Love Letter" really is the right titel. The miyoo mini plus was my first retro handheld and tough I have several now, I very often gravitate towards it, just because it's so smooth and easy and I just feel comfortable with it. So thank you for this video. It's perfect ♡
Miyoo Mini has a lot of fans, it's probably the most popular retro emulator. I am fairly new to this retro sphere and I would be very interested to know the history of Miyoo Mini, how it got the love of the community, what competitors it had at the time of release, the history of Onion OS development and all that. I'm really surprised no one has ever done this, maybe you'll be the one?
Heck ya! I haven't found ANYONE else with this opinion. I LOVE the original mini, it's so much cuter and we'll proportioned than the plus or any other handheld, it is just perfect
Right on. I own numerous consoles. Spend over half my time w Miyoo Mini plus. It's basically an 80-90's kid dream. Preloaded w basically everything up to PS1. In ur palm for 65$. Bonus: fast grind and auto save. Perfect for RPG's.
These videos are just _adorable_. I'm serious; they're so refreshing after thirty years of "edgy" content, including South Park and of course The Angry Video Game Nerd. They're so heartfelt and innocent and silly and yet somehow genuine, like how The Muppet Movie could be ridiculous until the end, when there's a tender moment that doesn't feel forced.
I paid almost double for my miyoo mini v4. But you were the reason I wanted one, even though I already experienced the plus model. The mini along with the YUME RETRO 3d printed case is the perfect pocket device. The case is form fitting, so its miyoo shaped and fits in your pocket while completely protecting your device. It comes to work with me every day. I think the miyoo mini, the upcoming retroid pocket mini, and the steam deck are going to be my gaming device trifecta ❤
I like video like these, I know it wouldn't do well in the algorithm cuz its not a review vid. But this speaks to my soul why I keep buying these tons of anbernic/miyoo handheld. It was one of my dream when I was a kid to play all my fav into a small portable handheld. As an adult and I can now comfortable afford them, its my comfort seeing them on my shelves and I always bring one during a long holiday too.
Really good video! I love when you’re going the extra mile with the ideas and visuals. Your channel is the only handheld channel I watch just not for information. Pardon. You but also wolf den
Despite my ageing eyes I love my Miyoo Mini above better handhelds too! OnionOS is amazing. But something about the size & form factor is appealing too. I only wish they weren't so fragile. No custom metal shell as of yet.
I actually ordered the Miyoo Mini Plus earlier today with all the bells and whistles, and I am super excited about getting it! I have a special place in my heart for my retro games, and it's going to be so good having access to them all again! (I went for the Onion ver with the 256 SD they have packed with games).
I found it to be surprisingly comfortable to use with just one hand. Of course, that's not a great idea for fast-paced games but for slower games, I found myself drawn to use it that way. I guess I found it more comfortable sometimes.
Another amazing video and had me in stitches a number of times! Thanks TechDweeb. I still love me Powkiddy X55 and sleep with it every night. Are you going to do a 100k special?
Isn't this the "you should start a fire..." handheld?! THAT was the video that made me sub. Hands down one of the funniest things I've seen on TH-cam all year. EDIT: seconds after posting this comment, you very nearly topped it with that 'kiss' bit!
Happy for u, techdwib. Someday my perfect handheld will come along too (a premium, aluminum shell, Gameboy micro style retro handheld with the perfect GBA screen ratio)
Dude you never fail to impress me. I love your vids! I'm watching it now at my mom's job she just got off the pole lol. I have tons of handhelds myself including this one but you know what nobody's taking the time to make which I think would be a huge be it nieche? A virtual pinball handheld PC simply dedicated to the vertical screen with actual physical buttons attached I would buy that in a heartbeat something that could play VPX and future pinball in a good way with all the bells and whistles on. Whoever makes one of those I am so on board! Dude congrats on your smashing subscriptions 100K all day.
Sorry, dude, I Disagree on one thing. man, no mum is better than my mom. My mom is like the best mom ever, like the bestest, bestest ever. Maybe someday she'll read this comment, but I doubt it. She doesn't understand video games, and my handheld addiction. But that's okay. She lets me buy them anyway. LOL. Hope you have a great day. Great video again as usual.
I don't see a good reason why there should be a competitions whos mum is the best. For you , your mum ist the best, for me , without a doubt my mum is the best ! So can we settle this with our moms are the best ?
Thanks to your videos (and Retro Game Corps) I ended up buying a Miyoo Mini Plus. I freaking love it. Onion OS is so simple to use and at the same time very complex and deep. But if I have to choose, my favourite thing has to be the Steam Deck.
This video is 100% how I feel about my Miyoo (only mine in the plus version). I know it's irrational to some, if not most, but I actually love this thing and how it makes me feel. I like holding it and pushing the buttons, even if I'm not playing a game. I love the "feel" of quality when holding it. Oh and I play games on it ALL the time, mostly PS1, but I've also used it to play and beat games I never played when I was a kid, because I didn't have a Sega Genesis. Because of this thing I've played, enjoyed and beat all of the shining force games from the Game Gear to Sega CD. There was a suprising number of great RPSs for the Sega CD! Turbo grafx anyone? My god that had a ton of great games and I never even new about that console until I was well out of my teens! I've tried TONS of other emulators, but NONE are as good, well built, as easy to use (with Onion OS of course) as the Miyoo Mini/Plus devices IMHO. Keep up the great videos Tech Dweeb!
You might be selling me on this thing! I've only recently fallen into the retro emulation handheld world, and fell for some of the hype on some recent Anbernics - but they've all disappointed me except for the RG-35XXSP which I think is fantastic. So I really don't need this - but man does it look awesome!! I love your channel and your presentation style too!
Just clicked this video because I’ve always like retro boys. Owned several through the years and ended up giving them away to great friends so they can enjoy them like I have. Might buy one of these because of you now 😂 great video, just subbed, keep it up 💪🏼
I got the Mini V4 recently after it finally came back in stock, having owned the Plus for awhile. Even though I intended it to be a "secondary" pocket device, I was surprised to discover I actually liked the Mini V4 more than the Plus. Love it so much I bought a second one just in case they become unavailable again. My MM+ mostly gathers dust now.
Another great Tech Dweeb video! I've always heard so much about the Miyoo Mini and always wanted to get one, I think the screen will be too small for my old and tired eyes but I want to at least give a shot to the plus. Hopefully on this black friday I can get my hands on one!
First video from this channel that I've seen, have to say that the editing is super well done. Seems like it would be a pain to sync up hand movements to a script.
My favorite thing is a brass Chinese pocket fountain pen. I customized it with a vintage 1940s wahl eversharp 14k nib and sanded off the lacquer so it built a patina I use it every day as an EMT. It's built an amazing patina over a nearly 15 year career.
There’s something magical about the Miyoo Mini Plus. I don’t know what it is. There are more powerful devices. There are devices with better build quality. But I don’t know - it’s just perfect. I always find myself going back to the Miyoo Mini Plus
I still only have 1 Retro Handheld and I love her, she is the Powkiddy X55, and she brings me all the joy...and currently we are working through "Legend of Zelda A Link to the Past", and wow I didn't realise how amazing, big and beautiful this game is, now if only I wasn't getting stuck so much...
I love this video. I feel the same about my rg351p. I saw a retro game Corps review on it years ago and it'd been with me ever since. Plays so much so well. I love it! Will upgrade soon when ps2 is played at a decent price but as a pocketable device that plays so much my 351p has been a brilliant buy. I saw on your 100 tips video you mentioned not being obsessed with new handhelds. Get a good one and play it and enjoy it. I've had that with my 351p. Great video thanks for all the amazing content 💚👍
This was the first video I saw of yours and the mini reminds me of a combination of Beemo (adventure time) and the hecklefish from the YT channel, “the Why Files”. 😂 I think your channel should keep that lil dude for every episode!!! Make a vote, I’ll vote a million times
I had seen retro handhelds before but never purchased them when I saw the Miyoo Mini I just felt like I had to have it, I've always been an original hardware kind of person and still am but the Miyoo mini started a whole new hobby for me haha and now I have so many retro handhelds along with my original hardware. It's a great experience to have the best of both worlds.
Definitely. I love original hardware (I just bought an NES and I've been LOVING goofing around with it), but it's hard to argue with the convenience and flexibility of emulation. Having both is the way to do it right.
I have a RP4Pro, and it's good. But there is something I really like about the Miyoo's controls, specifically the D-pad. It just feels great and precise.
Just finally got my Litnxt card in the mail yesterday! (Off your recommendation! 😀) It is AWESOME!!! And I’m SOO STOKED about all the RAD ROM hacks on there… like super Mario world 2: around the world… Also: I was REALLY FREAKING STOKED that out came with the ROM for secret of mana 2, trials of mana!!! 🤘

3:45 Mom's job 🤣
😂🎉
I paid almost double for my miyoo mini v4. But you were the reason I wanted one, even though I already experienced the plus model. The mini along with the YUME RETRO 3d printed case is the perfect pocket device. The case is form fitting, so its miyoo shaped and fits in your pocket while completely protecting your device. It comes to work with me every day. I think the miyoo mini, the upcoming retroid pocket mini, and the steam deck are going to be my gaming device trifecta ❤
Ooh I've heard good things about that case. I really should grab one.
@@TechDweeb You really should. I'm shocked you haven't. It doesn't affect the pocket-ability at all.
I paid too much too because I didn’t realized they resourced the screens. Oh well. I love it.
The script writing for this video alone earned a sub. Excellent work, and well done, nerd.
I just found your channel, and to answer your question, it's my new favorite thing.
Well said buddy
That post credit scene is EPIC 😂
The PSP Go is extremely compact too. I "refurbished" one from Ebay and it's pretty fun to carry around.
I've always wanted to try one
omg he should make that vid
I found it to be surprisingly comfortable to use with just one hand. Of course, that's not a great idea for fast-paced games but for slower games, I found myself drawn to use it that way. I guess I found it more comfortable sometimes.
Wow, you have flown through the last 50k subs! Well done 🎉
I love lamp.
This was the first video I ever seen of yours.. I just ordered my own miyoo (plus)… really made me want to play some of my favorite old rpgs.
Congratulations in advance to the 100k subs man!🥳
Thanks! And thanks for the stuff that helped me make all these videos!
I wish Anbernic would release a vertical version of the RG28XX, which would basically be the equivalent of this device.
Another amazing video and had me in stitches a number of times! Thanks TechDweeb. I still love me Powkiddy X55 and sleep with it every night. Are you going to do a 100k special?
Yeah! I have a short quick one for this weekend when I hit 100k, and I have a longer thing planned for my big Silver Play Button video :D
Just stumbled across this video and it finally got me to pull the trigger on a Mini Plus. Excellent production quality and I was laughing throughout 😂
Are you familiar with the Ayaneo Pocket Micro? 🤔
@@TechDweeb We'll see, right? 🙂↕️
Excellent vid, and I'm not sure why someone wouldn't buy one of these before they get 10 minutes in. Thank you.
this is my favorite thumbnail I've ever seen on youtube. i absolutely love the style and it totally fits the vibe of your channel
Congratz on 100K subs coming! Another great video
So close!
Mine lives in my pocket everyday! My other retro emulators are great but this one is the perfect everyday companion!
Such a wholesome video. Thanks so much!
Glad you liked it!
Well said buddy
Wow not so long ago you only had like 20k subs, glad to see you grow fast!
Haa! 0:06
Your mom in this picture looks like she could be the sweet kind sister of the lady in Courage the Cowardly Dog, it's wonderful.
😄👍
You might be selling me on this thing! I've only recently fallen into the retro emulation handheld world, and fell for some of the hype on some recent Anbernics - but they've all disappointed me except for the RG-35XXSP which I think is fantastic. So I really don't need this - but man does it look awesome!! I love your channel and your presentation style too!
Fiiine, I’m convinced and bought the mini with your code. Keep up the good work. Congrats on the hundred k!
Thank you Techdweeb for showing me this amazing handheld gaming console, it' like an gameboy but with modern looking display
Yeah there's a special something with the original Mini that the plus didn't nail. I like the plus a lot, but I LOVE the Mini.
The Miyoo Mini V4 is really cute, portable, convenient, and comfortable, we just adding OnionOS makes it even better!😉❤🔥👏
Another great Tech Dweeb video!
I've always heard so much about the Miyoo Mini and always wanted to get one, I think the screen will be too small for my old and tired eyes but I want to at least give a shot to the plus. Hopefully on this black friday I can get my hands on one!
LITNXT usually does a Black Friday sale FYI
@@TechDweeb Awesome thanks! I'll make sure to keep an eye out 😄
First video from this channel that I've seen, have to say that the editing is super well done. Seems like it would be a pain to sync up hand movements to a script.
My favorite thing is a brass Chinese pocket fountain pen. I customized it with a vintage 1940s wahl eversharp 14k nib and sanded off the lacquer so it built a patina
I use it every day as an EMT. It's built an amazing patina over a nearly 15 year career.
Nothing else captures retro charm quite like the og miyoo mini. Maybe the rg28xx. For retro dmg colorway lovers, this thing is just perfect.
Was on the edge of subscribing, but when I heard chrono trigger it was over. Subscribed!
Welcome!
I just started playing my Miyoo Mini Plus again last night because that was the first emulation handheld I've ever owned and it still kicks ass.
I've a miyoo mini plus for a while now and the custom gamecard from litnxt is amazing. ❤
My dear Techdweeb, you're almost at 100K. Let's gooooo!
I know! I'm STOKED!
Man I love Chrono Trigger music and listen to Nobuo Uematsu all the time. Too bad we can't share a few rootbeers and just talk games one afternoon ha.
I think your channel should keep that lil dude for every episode!!!
@TechDweeb Thanks man, i really needed _that_ video tonight 😊
You really helped settle my lifes anxieties.
I have a RP4Pro, and it's good. But there is something I really like about the Miyoo's controls, specifically the D-pad. It just feels great and precise.
Just finally got my Litnxt card in the mail yesterday! (Off your recommendation! 😀)
It is AWESOME!!! And I’m SOO STOKED about all the RAD ROM hacks on there… like super Mario world 2: around the world…
Also: I was REALLY FREAKING STOKED that out came with the ROM for secret of mana 2, trials of mana!!! 🤘
Niiiiice! Enjoy!
One hundred thousand subway sandwiches 🥪 🥪 🥪
Well done to you....yay
Very entertaining and informative channel.
One of the best retro content creator's out there.
Keep em coming dweeb, u rock!
