I'm sure people always say this but it's just so nice to see people back to some form of normality in NZ. We (in Ireland) have just re-entered our highest level of restrictions, so watching these videos is a welcome reminder of how things were, and hopefully will be not too far into the future! The fish you ate in this video, the grouper, it was topped with microgreens. That is my job here in SA. I grow and sell microgreens to local restaurants and private clients. They are extremely healthy and are so much more than just garnish. So cool to see them being used in New Zealand.

We worked in Wakefield,which is about 20 minutes out of Richmond for a few months at the beginning of the year,until the Covid19 lockdown happened,and had to come back to Auckland,but honestly,that whole Nelson area you guys have explored was beyond belief,and I've been all around NZ,and this whole area,from Picton through to Queen Charlotte Sounds,to Havelock,Linkwater,Brightwater,Kaiteretere,Saint Anaud,through to Blenheim is beyond belief,and is by far and away the best place in NZ,and amazing people. Luckily we went back to Nelson twice since April,but gotta make the journey again. You just cannot do the place justice,in one or two,or even three trips. You guys did an amazing expose' over the last 3 videos,so well done.
@@DanegerAndStacey yeah,definitely been around the country and like you guys,have seen some exceptional places,but that whole Nelson/Marlborough/Tasman/Nelson Lakes area is exceptional,and I'd honestly be happy to move there (I met an incredible amount of folks who moved there from the North Island,in particular Auckland,so thats saying something). Really enjoying following your journey around NZ,keep up the awesome work guys.

This is the first area my family, all English at the time, lived in, 1959, before I was born. Beautiful place. Plan on going back this coming Christmas, so thanks for this. I don't really know that muchabout this area despite having visited nearby a few times. Mapua isn't too far away from where my brother still lives. I've not gone much further south than Lower and Upper Moutere areas. Plan on doing something about that before I retire.

Cheeseburger in a donut is a "Luther burger" here in the U.S. after Luther Vandross. Legend has it Luther had guest over and ran out of bread. So he sliced open Krispy Kreme donuts and put the burgers in them. We have a restuarant here in Richmond, Virginia called Luther Burger. They showed in on the Boondocks cartoon series. Beautiful videos of NZ hope to go one day.

That groper fish looked lovely. This may sound like such a dumb question, but when you guys have 'fush' ❤️ and chips, what's the standard fish in NZ? For us, it's cod or haddock, but neither of the fish (fishies?) you guys had were this. Trying to work out if you guys just went fancy or if your 'common' fish is something different to ours? In answer to your question of what would I choose, it would be a toss up between the fish and the coffee, I adore both! 🐟☕🥰
Bistros in NZ use fancy fish like grouper or bluenose (lovely) etc but regular f&c stores use white flesh species like shark, elephant fish, or warehou

For us, it's cod or haddock, but neither of the fish (fishies?) you guys had were this. Trying to work out if you guys just went fancy or if your 'common' fish is something different to ours? In answer to your question of what would I choose, it would be a toss up between the fish and the coffee, I adore both! 🐟☕🥰
Bistros in NZ use fancy fish like grouper or bluenose (lovely) etc but regular f&c stores use white flesh species like shark, elephant fish, or warehou
Blue Cod is very popular in the south island.
hoki is the main fish at takeaway shops in the North Island...i live in Auckland...you pay more for snapper etc
Not a silly question at all! There's not really one standard type but generally Snapper and Tarakihi are widely available :)

Yep - **excellent** food, especially dairy products (you **haven't had ice-cream** until you've had NZ ice-cream!), seafood, bakery products (bread, buns, cakes, pies, slices) and **coffee!**.
I wonder if that cheeseburger donut will be enough to convince my husband to take that super long journey to go to NZ again, once that's an option again 😂

Panko is a name for Japanese version of gourmet bread crumb 😋 (Well, some Pankos are really cheap & not gourmet at all, but I’m sure Kiwis have a sort of pride of not using those kind😎)
