I had a summer with my mother's sister's family in Motueka when I was 17 years old. Did the Able Tasman with my cousins. I'll never forget those golden beaches and the people I met. Some are still friends today 40 years later. Even my cousins😊
Thank you for introducing me to Nelson, beautiful. Can see why Golden Bay got its name and the Tata beach very much reminded me of the lovely beaches in Cornwall. ❤
Hi Tracy, thanks for watching! Glad we can start to show you some places that you might not have had on your NZ travel bucket list. Isn’t it funny how there was a little reserve with Cornwall in the name?
Heya 👋 I made your coffee at Ruby’s! Looks like you had a awesome time in Nelson 🌞 I’m looking forward to checking out the rest of your videos 😸 Safe Travels 💛✨
Hi Sharon!! Aww, so glad you found our video in your feed. We had Rubys Espresso a few times while we were there ❤️ it was a wonderful stay! Thanks for the coffee ☕️ xx
Thank you. I grew up in this area of New Zealand and it is the most beautiful pert of the country. I know longer live there but try to get back every couple of years.
Golden Bay looks amazing. Interesting that there was a statue of Abel Tasman. It reminds me a bit of the east coast of Tasmania, especially Wineglass Bay and Coles Bay.
hey guys I am a local having lived in Nelson 22 years now. I run a BNB here in Nelson and will share your video with guests. Your video is very accurate and a solid representation of our region . It’s such a beautiful region to live, Clean and safe and some of the best weather in NZ year on year . Many thanks. I have sub’d 😊
Correction it's the Nelson/Tasman region not just the Nelson region. Honestly the views from the Grampians lookout is alot better than from the centre of new Zealand and the Saturday market is so much better than the farmers market
@@thekiwinomad thanks for the correction there! And yes we’ve heard of the Grampians but didn’t have enough time to squeeze it ALL in 😅 thanks for sharing your knowledge though!
Nelson nice enough place, not so quite a few of the local's, pretty darn racist, Remember a News item a year or few back, during the Christmas parade, they kicked out a local Maori guy dressed as Santa, the organisers said no such thing as a Maori Santa, Fool's don't even realise, there is no such person as Santa, Brown or otherwise, So pleased, the Wellington Christmas parade organiser's,invited the guy to join their parade, He got a huge reception from the local's,
What is now called Golden Bay was named 'Moordenaars Baij' or 'Murderers Bay' in 1642 when Dutch explorer Able Tasman arrived and local Maori warriors attacked and killed several of his crew.
