- This is a video I made a couple of years ago and just now got around to uploading it. It shows you how parts of this swap came together. Have had on and off cooling issues from 2009 to 2013 and it is finally getting completely re-done (Cooling system) and several other things this fall.

Bad ass Z, this got to be one of the best z32 rb swap on youtube hands down.
you obvioulsy dont know anything about these cars. the stock engines in them are fast as is, and with a little tune you can easily make mean power. get off the internet before you give more people autism from reading your comments.

I am doing a somewhat different swap with my 96 Z32 slicktop. I am going with the VK45DE with a CD009 Z34 6 speed and the Z32 TT rear end. Good build you started. I did a lot of research and your build did help with some troubleshooting. Will be posting my videos later this fall or early spring. But really enjoyed your commitment.
Just trying to learn here. Why would you swap the engine when you can achieve the new HP with the VG30?
Is it plans for more further boosting?
Is it worth the money and time?
cad18 and sr20 nissan engines are other good options for these cards.

I always thought the 300zx should have come with a 3.0 inline six. Would have been a much better car. With inter changeable GTR parts etc. Ive owned TWO TT Zs and this configuration just seems better to me. Not that Im more qualified than Nissan engineers but yeah.
If I don’t end up buying a Supra as my next car I’m gonna try to get a 300ZX and either RB or 2JZ swap it.

Nice swap and a lot of great info. Shiner TX? It's ironic that I found this video by chance because of a poor Z sitting at the end of my town in PA with a blown engine, because the company I work for had a job at the brewery there. A couple weeks before we were going to ship out, they hired a different crew. Heard that it didn't go too well for them. Wish I woulda been out there. This would have stopped me in my tracks just for how clean it is, the RB26 swap would have blown my mind! Good work, subscribed

Sometimes to fix that high idle you can seal the throttle body with dry molly lube. check my video.

The rb26dett can work with the oem tranny of z32, I seen your video and I don't understand if is awd or rwd and if you use the tranny of the z32.

Looks great in that bay. The inline 6 exhaust. Much better than the VG. The RB is so heavy though and sticks far forward of the front axle.

So I'm probably going to get booed yelled at and embarrassed but I live in NYC where we have a lot of stop and go traffic and I want to maintain my automatic transmission My question is will the auto tranny go into the the 26 bel housing and work?

The RB26 is really bad on blow-by ... My nissan ka24de motor is also some what big on blow by ... Not sure why but when i get on it, i can fill my catch can ...

How much was the engine
It's always puzzled me why Nissan never did this or 350-370Z with Skyline/GTR parts. Even if it was only a limited run. Yet... they made the insane Juke GTR for an insane price. Same problems as General Motors!?! Too big to know which way is up? They would have sold a lot more Z cars.
Does it pass inspection?
Could you put a aluminum plate between the turbo down pipe and the turbo and run the gas lines behind it?
Yes, you could - but my current setup eliminated that.
The only thing that I dont like is the 5 speed, I think 6 speed is better But good job.
The 5 speed is plenty. Can still hit 180mph very quickly.
How much power did u gain on the swap and about how much did u spend and did u recommend it in stead of put the money on the original engine
If I had to do it again, I would have probably stayed VG30DETT. It is VERY expensive ($20,000 USD on up... I had spent closer to $30,000 but over 3 years time)

Seems u running twin MAF sensors with aftermarket ECU (D jetro) no AFMs, Very big job in 300zx i knew, but that is fantastic job done. I am now challenge myself diy RB26 in my s13 seems bit more easier anyway similar works as yr one.

What kind of body kit do you have on your 32?
It is a 1999-2000 model Z32 (Japanese) front bumper. It is an OEM part. Every other exterior body part is stock other than taillights and the spoiler.
Interesting specs at the end RB has way more horsepower but interestingly not that much more torque, displacement thing??
The RB26 = 2.6L. The VG30 = 3.0L. It makes more power, but less torque than the VG30DETT that was in it previously.
Scott H what was wrong with the vg30 if you dont mind me asking? why did you decide to swap motors? what prohibited you from achieving big power with the vg? im about to build mine for big power so an answer to this question would be greatly appreciated! :)

maxnguyen22 The rule of a serious rebuild/swap is set a budget, then double it and add some more on top however I don't see why you couldn't do this for $40k

this Z is badass it hits me a bit that its a rb26det not a vg30dett but its still Nissan with a Nissan engine so i have no problems watching this over and over.
Watch for new videos soon. Has entirely new exhaust, ECU and other setup.
I wouldn't risk running those fuel lines that close to the downpipe on such a awesome swap.

Custom made wiring harness. In this video it was running a PowerFC D-Jetro for the R33 GTR.
A 300z is not front wheel drive and was never front wheel drive
He's talking about the rb's differential for the front wheels.

Why bother, the vg30dett is a good engine.
Good engine..?? Why do most if not ALL swap to the 2JZ or RB26..?? There is way to much on that VG30 to even mess with it.
