  • Russia's Luna-25 spacecraft has crashed into the Moon after spinning into an uncontrolled orbit, officials say.
The unmanned craft was due to make a soft landing on the Moon's south pole, but failed after encountering issues as it moved into its pre-landing orbit.
It was Russia's first Moon mission in almost 50 years.
Roskosmos, Russia's state space corporation, said it lost contact with the Luna-25 shortly after running into difficulties.

The fact that they got there is the cool part, they're landing gear probably didn't work because of the temperature change in space, it's really difficult to account for all of the different energies even on Earth, but in space you have no protection from the sun so one side is really hot, but at the same time there's no air keeping your equipment insulated by spreading the heat to the other side, so of course the dark side is unbelievably freezing cold, it's really an engineering miracle that we get anything anywhere in space but of course the media wouldn't understand that

This must be a devastating loss for the Russian space program. Apparently, Putin had serious plans to build a fully manned base on the moon. The idea was that astronauts would live there permanently. When they were asked if they really wanted to spend the rest of their lives in a barren, lifeless, empty landscape, the Russians said: “No. That's why we want to go to the moon." 🌚

Turns out when you let the scientists and engineers do their job, in their own time, so they're able to stay vigilant and concentrate on the many calculations it must take to remotely land relatively fragile and unpiloted technology on a distant object away from this planet - it'll improve the missions chances. Making them treat space exploration like Dick Dastardly and Muttley attempting to "stop the pigeon" because a deranged ex-assassin who inexpicably rules the country now says so, lest they mysteriously fall out off the nearest open window - it'll probably not go so well!

The fact is the Indian mission is designed to be on the cheap side, and they don't use a big rocket for the lunar injection (going from 17,000 mph to 24,000 mph), but slowly raise the Earth orbit until the ship is captured by the lunar gravity. Instead of large amounts of fuel and a big engine, they utilise the kick from the earth's gravity; this technique requires a long time to get to the Moon...

No one can know just how bright their light bulbs really are until they place their eye against the bulb itself and then taken a look. Until then, they only know how bright it is from where ever they are standing.
This also applies to the Sun and Moon. So, if you can read a newspaper by moonlight when the Moon is supposed to be over 230,000 miles away, then how bright do you think it would be if you were actually walking on its surfacer trying to film some home movies ? The answer would be…That you would be standing in plasma, that you might as well be standing inside a laser beam. No one can ever walk on the Moon, it is not a world, it is a light. And it doesn't rotate, is rolls like a wheel. There is no dark side, there is only what we see.
(Every time that you find yourself halfway to the source of emission, both light, heat and sound will increase fourfold. This is the inverse square law and it is non-negotiable. It increases exponentially. (This is not a theory, it is a law)).

      @super_ficial ปีที่แล้ว +1

@@darwinsaye No one can do that because their own shadow will get in their way, but yeah, as near as I can tell the white gloss does become a little brighter and shinier.
Also, moonlight is not reflected sunlight nor is the Moon a ball. If the Moon was a ball then the Moon, like all balls when a light is shown on it would have a 'Bright Spot' on it but it doesn't, therefore, the Moon can't be a ball (That one of their lies)
Also, moonlight is colder than moonshadow (this you can test for yourself) it's more of a neon light rather than a spectrum. Sunlight is healthy and moon light is putrid.

we have seen several spacecraft from multiple nations meant to land on the moon or mars crash instead this century, but as far as I recall, they all managed to get their flights right until the landing approach, and then failed to decelerate enough, hitting the surface when and where they were supposed to - only too fast.

Communication was lost with the Japanese OMOTENASHI lander, which was supposed to work out the technology of a "semi-rigid" landing on the surface, and the American lunar satellite Lunar IceCube, designed to search for water ice."Hakuto-R" Japan, "Rashid" UAE and "Lunar Flashlight" USA On April 25, 2023, Hakuto-R accelerated sharply in the last seconds before landing and communication with it was lost. According to experts, the spacecraft made a hard landing on the moon. The mission was deemed unsuccessful. Together with Hakuto-R and two planetary rovers, the small American Lunar Flashlight spacecraft, designed to search for ice on the Moon, was also lost.

0:57 3:10 Incompetent reporting. India is already the FIRST to land an impact probe on the exact South Pole of the moon in the first Chandrayaan mission! This is the mission that discovered water on the moon!
It is now attempting to land a robotic rover succesfully near the South pole of the moon in Chandrayaan-3. This is the 2nd attempt as Chandrayaan-2 was the first and the guidance system had issues.
3:17 It took off before not after. Chandrayaan-3 has taken a fuel efficient sling shot type approach using the gravity of th Earth and Moon hence it will arrive after the Luna-25 mission as Luna-25 had a more direct trajectory!
3:33 Another case of incompetent reporting. Nobody's "rocket" crashed anywhere! The payloads that were launched i.e. the spacecrafts/landers crashed!
