When you mentioned what would’ve happen if he was permanently hurt from that accident, I think that changes the landscape of hip-hop forever. Kanye is crucial to the current sound of hip hop
Kanye is the definition of an artist in every sense of the word. This living legend just sees the world differently and his music has shaped my upbringing into my adult years.
Such an amazing album the way he carries the humor throughout without it being corny. I was listening to this just smiling and laughing all the way through.
Wow love your dad's perspective! He is right, the world loves to lift people impossibly high just so they can enjoy their falls that much more. Kanye is one of my favorite artists! I dont expect anyone to be perfect. Unless you do something that is truly unforgivable that should be punished by law, I truly believe that people should love and support one another especially when people are in their darkest moments because we will all have them. Acting like we are all mighty and do no wrong while pointing fingers at others just wont help in any way. It truly dont make us any better. Anyways love this video and reaction of one of my favorite artists and albums of all times.
I love the space that you two are in while experiencing music. It’s like therapy for me, thank you! Also, I highly recommend The mixtape The Water(S) by Mick Jenkins, it’s a really cohesive and layered album with „watery” instrumentals and great lyrics.
Just realized how fucking insanely early and innovative and like before it’s time that outro of Jesus walks is with the auto tuned vocals in the back holy shit that sounds so modern wtf
There’s so many channels nowww no hate at all I love it. Makes me wanna sit down w my dad and bump some Kanye. Great channel and content. Hope your dad enjoys the journey
every old head laughs or enjoys slow jamz, just the throwback shoutouts and literally everyone in america tried to get freaky to one of those artists at one point
Before I even watch i'm excited as hell for Kanye reactions. Since Mike loved SIMBI, I wonder how he'd react to, what I'd call like a proto SIMBI album such as college dropout. A majority of each Kanye album has significantly influenced different landscapes in rap music. Considering this is almost 20 years old, you can partly define this album the rubric for 21st century rap, not to mention, the pop culture influence Kanye has reached beyond his music
You should get your father to see the Jeen Yuh documentary for Kanye on Netflix!! He will get to see the ambition that he sensed after Spaceships. I think he'll grow to truly respect him and I would love to hear his opinion regardless😅😄
Have you heard the new Billy Woods album Aethiopes? Its INCREDIBLE. My AOTY so far above Rosalía’s Motomami and Ants From Up There and Soul Glo’s Diaspora Problems. Speaking of the Soul Glo album, its amazing. Mixes hardcore punk , Bad Brains-esque, with hip hop
A lot of great taste here. Billy Woods, Rosalìa, and Soul Glo are my current top 3 albums this year (Earl Sweatshirt probably 4th). Looking forward to Quelle Chris' album DEATHFAME out next month might be a top contender based off the single Alive Ain't Always Living. One the most heavily underrated hip hop mcs/producers out rn.
@@MonsieurKameron I like Earl’s album too but ive only listened once, i need to come back to it. Its definitely an album that i can tell will age well. And this will be my first time listening to a Quelle Chris album, im excited for it too! His features on Billy Woods / Armand Hammer albums lately caught my attention. The album i’m most excited for is 700 Bliss - Nothing To Declare. A duo made up of Moor Mother and DJ Haram. Haru Nemuri i’m excited for too
I realize this video is a year old - I just discovered this channel so I’m just kinda gonna work my way forward - but I’m about 5:30ish or so into the video and what you guys are talking about here brought to mind something that I think is probably the most defining aspect of Kanye West as a person, which is that he is gifted and cursed by the fact that he is virtually unable to be anything other than 100% honest about his thoughts and feelings at all times.
In the documentary, there's a very touching and illuminating scene where Kanye is out on his property in Wyoming and on the phone with his dad. Kanye was asking his dad if he remembers when he (Kanye) was riding his bike (or tricycle?) and wasn't falling. His dad somewhat downplayed it and asked Kanye to remember that he was running alongside him while he was riding to keep him from falling. Kanye said to his dad that he should come run beside him again (i.e., be the protective & supportive figure by his side again). 😢
Random thought but, what if you took 3 albums you have in mind possibly for the next video and then ask in the video which album would you guys like to see next between these 3? And then choose whichever one you saw the most in the comments?
Fun Facts: Jay-Z's nickname "Hov" I'm fairly certain stems from a line on the song "Takeover" from The Blueprint: "...The God MC, me, *Jay-Hova.* " (As in "Jehovah").
Brah, u gotta stop interrupting ur dad. & Also Kanye's dad is playing an active roll in his life. Other than that, great video, can't wait for the rest of this series
Kanye was not in thw wrong. Pete Davidson has a history of taunting peoples exs. He did the same with mac Miller and Arianna grande. We don't support Pete he pushed mac to a edge in the height of his addiction and well now we have no mac. Meanwhile we got Pete's mid comedy 🤦🏾♂️
Top 3 Kanye albums?
ksg, graduation, tlop
mbdtf, late registration, graduation
Mbdtf, donda, ye
Graduation, LR, MDBTF
TCD MBDTF 808’S
I love these dad reactions that have been dropping from everyone. I don’t care if it’s copying, it’s so interesting to see there perspective
same here. you can tell they took plenty, plenty inspiration but they're still different people and everyone will have a different reaction

@@2highagainyou're better than that😅

If you ask Ye, he was permanently hurt. "I have signs of autism from my car accident."
Such a great album. You guys should react to his albums in order :)
It's like a autobiography that is still unfinished, one of the few artists that is interesting to analyze and follow up through the career
Please don’t, everybody already did it…
@@hjkkghjk6988 so? Not everybody has the same reaction to it, everybody has different reactions and thoughts to his albums

Fun Fact: That isn't Bernie Mac doing the skits. It's actually comedian Deray Davis doing his Bernie Mac impression!
Great video as always btw!!
Thanks for watching!
i accidentally stole yo comment somewhat myb
Love that your dad asks questions and seems genuinely curious
Can't wait for this, hope you guys react to them in order
This is so awesome. Brought so much joy to my day to see you guys smile and laugh to this album together.
So glad you enjoyed!
Dad is spot on insofar as his perspective of how Kanye's recent life challenges are being portrayed in the media.

Kanye has a father. Not a deadbeat. That’s important
Please have your dad watch the documentary on Kanye while he listens to the albums so that he can get a more humanly response.
Prince had a nice horn lmaooo that killed me
I also thought that was Bernie Mack until this year. It's not its DeRay Davis doing a Bernie Mack rendition.
From the debut of this album I thought it was Bernie too. Deray killed though. Even the shallow breath he suffered from toward the end of his life.
that was deray davis but w bernie mac respect R.I.P
Tell ya dad it's not Bernie it's D ray Davis fyi.
We noticed after we filmed haha
Lol I'm a kanye superfan. 👏 loved this vid.

these reaction channels where young guys show their music to their dads really like to do Kanye reactions

@@oldassdude2251 it makes them all the same tho, i’d prefer more variety across them
Jay Z is from Brooklyn
The familiar voice on the School Spirit skit was Deray Davis who also impersonated Bernie Mac on the album.
Why'd you skip any/all of the "Woke up early this mornin...." verse from Family Business? Newish listener, you guys rock!
Turning the Tables, Bridging the Gap, Put You On.

Deray Davis did the skits lol
