*_All hail the Forklift Gnome_*
I briefly owned an 84 R5 GTL. And when I visited my former in-laws in Corsica, they let me use a Renault Clio diesel of Citroen Berlingot. French cars are so strange.
Thanks for the video Frankers is beautiful and full of energy
I'll leave you this. I remember them from the 80s, and there was a R5 Turbo with the crazy engine layout.. th-cam.com/video/5l16N6_UtTE/w-d-xo.html
A big thanks to Myles for taping his work.
This "like" is for Myles (and of course, for CWM and the beloved Frankers)!
"I've never done this but I watched it on TV..." Words to live by...
Myles’ Fury is shaping up nicely. Also, can’t wait to see Laura’s car back together and painted!!
I appreciate Myles contributions to the show with his project. You guys make painting look so easy to do. It's something I have got to work on. I always look forward to the episodes.
That 403 puts a smile on my face every time I see it!
It's like a car from Tintin!
My thought as well, that would be Kuifje in my part of the world (referring to his hair style). It looks like it would be conquering African deserts at 10 mph in far away adventures. Which coincidently at lot of them ended up at due to their durability.
Myles does some excellent work on the tedious repairs. Can't wait to see the Fury all prettied up.
Scott, thumbs up 👍 for Myles and the Fury, Justin and the driveway and Dean for endless sh*twork.
Frankers was quite wound up in this show.
Nice Saturday show and looking forward to the calendar.
Cheers from Wisconsin
Glad you enjoyed it, Brian... Thanks for ordering a calendar!
That grille will be a simple fix for a man of your talents.
Just a little tap tap tap and rub a dub dub!
Nice to see Frankers looking fit and healthy.
Still best channel on Utube. Looks forward to every Thursday and Saturday episodes
Me too!
Me three!
4:05 Car moving contest, leave engine hatch up on the lift to increase the degree of difficulty. Do the judges give you a higher score?
Doesn't matter. Moving cars without Tom doesn't count.
...good stuff, Scott.....Myles Fury is going to be spectacular......
Myles, thanks for the effort to share refurbishing Your Plymouth. When Scott starts working the grill in His Peugeot this winter it seems like Your introductory class on bright work ? 😂
Thank You to everyone at Cold War Motors for their contributions to the Show. Best Wishes !
Thanks Scott and Myles.
Don't forget to cover the carb on the 403(keep those critters out!)
Big thumbs up to Myles and all of the metal work on his Fury. So much fun stuff this episode. Don't why, but it makes me happy seeing that old Peugeot driving around the yard. Maybe it's because I like seeing any old car getting a second chance at life.
Scott, a regular viewer of the show for many years, please accept my gratitude for this week's video of the Packard straight-8's resurrection. Hope it can find a worthy place under the bonnet of a contemporary Packard motorcar. That being said, would also love to see the '48-ish Chrysler revived. I realize its transmission is a bit of a black box -- although it's only an inline-6 -- but I hope it will be worth the effort to keep it Chrysler. Otherwise, thank you for the Alberta motoring memories, the incurable French car sickness, and thanks, too, for sharing Myles' progress on the '66 Fury. Cheers!
Pre-winter cleanup-very nice! The Rover project is getting to be exciting and Myles is rocking and rolling, too!. CWM is in full swing and this is what we like to see-Thanks Scott!😊
Myles is almost the Bob Ross of Mopars. His voice is so calm and soothing. "We'll just weld in a happy little piece right here. There are no wrong moves when reconstructing a Mopar."
Haha, i guess you're right!
@@mylesmoparfreak6562was that por15 you used
Another episode with the Bob Ross of wrenching! It's a happy little dashboard😁👍
Myles got some skill going on with the rust repair.
Rover is going to look spectacular with that color. Yes. Quite.
Another rich chapter in the CWM annals. Very nice tidy on the Peugeot and the engine pull on the R5 was ably assisted by the always reliable and jovial Dean. Myles’ steadfast work in expelling all of the rust weevil’s damage from the Fury will pay off big time when that jewel’s finished. That windshield installation was challenging too, as that’s a tough job given the metal modifications to the channel. Good work, chaps!
Love seeing the progress on Myles Fury. Please give that forklift some love so that it can do some more work for you. Cheers!
Chrysler Canada, would be proud, that your restoring a survivor.
Thanks so much for including your Fury progress Myles. Love your work.
The "Goddess" produced a bit of a smile when she saw the 403 hopping by. A bit like Dame Judy Dench being forced to
say "Ello" to Al Bundy.
Good grief, Miles is more than just a pretty face, he is one hell of a worker and Scott on a bike. All in all, another as far as I
am concerned, outstanding program. This episode gave a whole new meaning to "Happy Hour"
Thanks to all these old world craftsmen.
Bas.
Thumps up for Miles and for Colin taking the tractor home. :)
Thanks Myles, Thumbs Up Dude...
Yea…… can’t wait any longer
I hope my like and comment will make the 503 grill chat go viral. Once again thanks. A great start to my Aussie Sunday. Stay well you guys. That was quite the test of friendship for Dean. Pulling an engine in the rain. Dean is a true mate for you.
Damn it looks good Myles!!
Damn! This vid is jam packed with goodies. Love the paint color on the Rover! Hyacinth "Bucket" would surely approve. The driveway project is looking great. Really appreciate Myles' sharing the Fury repairs. Thank you. It's coming along great. Dean is a trooper at the grunt work. I'm looking forward to the stainless repair on the Peugeot grille. Thanks again!
Seeing the Rover out in the daylight was great! What a nice color. I can’t wait to see Myles’ Sport Fury in paint. The 403 runs like a champ. It wants to live!
Your crew and you are moving fast so I'll bet your snowless weather is about to end soon. The Rover will be a real source of pride when complete.
Cheers Scott, getting ready to put the Cold back in CWM eh?
Highlight of my week. Thanks CWM
….likewise
Glad you enjoyed it! Cheers...
Run Frankers! Run! Got spotted in my 60 Fury tee by a viewer at a Corvair meet!
My compliments to Myles on his metal work on his Fury! I like how Scott collaborates with his buddies and it's a treat to see episodes like this! I hope to see more buddy collaborations from Scott especially Dan's 53 Olds (& Cad)!
Myles’ Fury is gonna look amazing when it’s painted. Great job on the windshield channel. Another hour of my Saturday night well spent. Cheers 🍻
* Love the intro. Forklift Gnome ! I love that ! The forker is a beast. Would love to see a minor tidy on it. At least the fenders straighten a bit. A little excitement when the parts 403 slid on the forks 😱. Myles is a natural teacher. He does nice work too. Frankers " The Menace" is Such A Good Girl ! She steals the show everytime ! Cheers ! 🍻👊😎👍🍻
Miles, you do not give yourself enough credit my brother. That windshield panel as well as the rest of the car man you are just absolutely killing it
Thanks John! Just don't want people thinkn I'm a pro, haha
The last Renault I'd driven was back in 1990 it was a 1984 Renault 20 and it was a lump. My relative had a Renault 25 which drove better but seriously lacked in the design department. I found it ugly but many said it was beautiful. The best and only Renault I'd ever driven and actually liked in both feel and drive was the 1966 rear engined Renault Floride (aka Caravelle) an old pre-war boyfriend of my mother owned. In 1973 my mother & I went to visit family & friends of her youth she'd known before coming to America in 1947. Her old Boyfriend (married to her classmate) loaned the sports car to us for a weekend in order to drive to the West End of Finistère near Brest in Britanny to see the area my grandparents and great grandparents came from. Honestly, I prefer Peugeôts and Citroëns. I presently drive a 2000 Peugeôt Partner (it's like a Ford Transit connect, 3 door, barndoor rear opening, 4cyl. gas and a 5 speed manual. I've got almost 175K Km on it and it runs great still. The new 2022 VW Caddy 5 "Life" has 3k km since new and just sits in the garage. It's got all the bells and whistles on it but I hate it as it doesn't let you drive it, it drives you.
You guys are so patient and for self professed amateurs pretty damn professional HUZAR!
Always a treat watching Myles and the Fury, great work on the windscreen metal work, nice one mate, great show again Scott.
Wow! Those repairs look factory, Miles!
Top job!
The Rover looks great, love that Arden Green.
Still the best show on youtube. Always a joy to watch.
Myles car appears to be coming along rather nicely!! Awesome job myles, can't wait to see it finished!! CHEERS!!!!
Good show (again) guys!! Dunno if I mentionned it before (sarcasm) but I love this show. Just like hanging out with buddies. Looking FWD to follow all the upcoming projects. Myles... a force of nature!
My first car was an R5 back in 1986, got it for £60 and did 30,000 miles in it before it bit the dust with the rear strut mounting rusting through. Truly great cheap car of the era.
That red '66 Fury dash reminds me of way back when - my older sisters friend would pick me up at the bus stop to give me a ride to school in her parents white '66 Fury four door hardtop with that almost metallic-like red interior. She was a senior and I loved that she would pick me up and leave the others waiting for the bus! It was riding to school in that Fury that I heard "Hey Jude" by the Beatles for the first time. I still remember that so clearly.
Very KOOL Scott and Miles and Dean
That Sport Fury is gonna be sweet. It's a nice good size hot rod for big guys. Will be nice following the project. Glad the windshield went well. Myles is doing a great job! 👍
Whoever is piloting the drone, they deserve an extra beer for the fantastic photography they're bringing to these productions. As always, cheers from NY state!
Hey Scott,
Myles Fury is getting closer every time we get an update on the progress. I love Myles' determination to attack work that he is not sure how to do. Very nice work Myles!!! . I can't wait to see the car painted. I love the friendships you all have. True car guy's that help each other to make dreams come true, ya gotta love it ❤
16mm and 18mm - why?
I love watching the painting side of CWM, so looking forward to Miles's 66 Fury job progression. 👍😎👍
Why? Because French. *shrugs *
The Fury is really looking good, great body repair.,,hope to see it finished soon.
Thanks for posting, great work Miles!!!
Bonus point love the Fury
Great work on Myles 66
Laura is going to have a very nice car when this is finished.. gonna be plush... never to be seen again once behind the wheel lol... keep the videos coming Scott its what makes my Saturday afternoon... noticed the leaves are pretty much off the trees.... looks like the second season of the year is starting... have a great day.
Hi Scott, please do the Peugeot when the time is there! Beautiful car that I saw a lot on our holidays in France in the late sixties/early seventies. The panel van version can still be seen fully restored and used by ‘hip’ French companies. As Dean says: who else s doing this? I still haven’t found European TH-cam channels working on these European classic And having fun while doing it. As always keep up the good work and hope to see lots of the SM this winter…
That's the plan!
Busy schedule in this episode,
Forklift is treasure !
Rover, Renault, Peugeot with Fury entry from Myles ,
The 66 is going to be a beauty, that Red with all of the Sport Fury Trim , ...Sweeet !!!! ,
good video, and rust repair work by Myles
Keep 'em coming !!!!
Amazing job on fixing the windshield frame. Myles is very good and patient with it. Installing the windshield is something we have done many times. I always preferred the windshields with rubber.
But lately we had a Hell of a time when the replacement rubber did not fit the windshield frame well. There were quite some differences to the original. we succeded at the end.
In 1965 GM changed to the more modern system of glueing the windshields in. I never really liked this change.
I'm a Bodyman /car enthusiast, your channel entertains me immensely. I cant miss an episode. I like everything you guys film. Thanks for sharing your world.
Another great show. Thanks again for making Thursday & Saturday the best part of the week. Just great to see the friendship & craftsmanship each week. Glad I can contribute a bit each month.
Fury’s
French Cars
Friends
…and Frankers!
Opening drone shots are epic.
Aw, happy Poodle.
Justin is doing an amazing job with the driveway/parking area.
People make fun of the Canadian Plodge, but it paved the way for the Dodge Dart which, basically, saved Dodge in 60 and 61.
Is the forklift Gnome related to the tractor Gnome? Tee hee.
Nice job 👍 Myles
Those mid-sixties Plymouth Furys were a high point in Chrysler design.
Myles is one cool agent.
Fun episode. Raining here and you are a bright spot!
Myles, you are doing a very fine job on the Fury, love seeing the progress!
Great to see the weather holding out for you. Looking forward to seeing some red paint before the white stuff. Nice work on the patches Myles. Loved inspector Frankers checking out the door gap. She knows what to look for.
Love the video, great to see Dean!
Glad you enjoyed it! Cheers...
Wow, another fine episode! I think the parts Peugeot 403, with that 2-tone paint job, is a really nice looking lawn ornament for the collection. It's cool to see the other running and able to be backed into its winter resting place. I'll bet that swapping the R5 powertrain into the black one will be easy for you guys, now that you know how it's done. Bravo to Myles with all of the intensive metal work that he is doing on the 66, and thanks for recording! And his 66 surely deserves to be a calendar girl for the 2025 edition.
Really enjoying Myles' segment. Nice work.
Dean is the one friend who will stick around and do the crappy jobs!!!!
Nice opening shot. More fun in the yard with Forky.
It's a great Saturday with CWM.
Have fun Franker's!
Liking that Fury more and more every time I see it. Can't wait to see it painted. Great show guys.
I had a 1980 Renault Fuego 1.4. Similar engine/transmission arrangement to the R5, front wheel drive. Loved that car and took it on loads of adventures. It had a very 1970's orange interior. Fun yet practical and cheap coupé.
Friend had a Renault 5 Gordini that looked OK under the hood. We couldn't get the plugs out. Think they had fused to the alloy head if I remember correctly.
Appreciating the Peugeot 403. It comes across as stylish and well proportioned car - hood/cabin/trunk ratios. Would love to see the grille done as a winter project, reminiscent of all the Fury stainless. Also admire PDR experts but was waiting for the tip of the rod to appear through the rusty section of the 403's fender! I've had a bit of success with a hot glue puller removing dents from a motorcycle gas tank.
Thank you.
Inspector Columbo had a deja vue. His 403 Cabriolet was on the forks by accident when he visited a junk yard to investigate.
I don't drive a Renault now but my dad had 2 Renault 4 TL in 1971 and probably '79. They were his first and second car and he learned to drive at the age of 51. my older brother and I learned to drive with the '71 as well.
I myself had two Peugeot 304.
Thanks for bringing back all those memories!
I’m so jealous of all your forward look cars. I’ve always wanted one. And I can count the ones I’ve seen in my entire life on the fingers of one hand here in the land of salt. They all crumbled to powder when I was in grade school.
Miles's Fury is awesome. Love the color. That Peugeot is a great future project too!!!
Thanks Myles your Fury will be rocking it with your Red paint job! Always good to see Frackers pitching in. Cheers...... Loyal Hoosier
I like how Scott says he’s no good at some thing and then goes a professional quality job of it!!❤
Great video game Scott. I'm always amazed by the amount of work you guys manage to get done in a week.
Drove an old R5 for five years !
Never got stuck in the snow, never missed a day of work.
Always considered
the R5 as one of the most underrated cars!
Looking forward to your next video.
All the best.
All great stuff and the wonderful Frankers too!
Nice metalwork by Myles.
Excellent show once again and great opening music too. Good work Myles. Thumbs up to you all!
Glad you enjoyed it! All the best from everyone here...
If there's a 2025 calendar, I'm sure Laura's Rover & Miles' Fury will be in it. And maybe a special "owners signed" limited edition?
The green Dodge Mayfair is rather attractive
Special! Moving Fury
Musical heaps of winter coming, Scott n Dean engine n trans pulling, 403's bathing, Scott joined the 1 man band welding n winshielding, encore coming
I was laughing when Scott was taking such care to align the fender to the door on the Plymouth. I’m sure it wasn’t done with that attention to detail at the factory. Great video as always. Really like Myles’ segments, maybe a spin off show. Cheers
Who needs the glass man.. you guys are the glass men👌👌
Dean is a much loved member of the crew, he's ace!! Your agents are your lucky charms bro 😜
He really is blessed to have such comradery! An eclectic group of car guys anyone would like to hang out with!
Nice work Myles! The windshield install was great. And the fender is done!. The yard is looking good and now you guys are Renault engine swap specialists! Thank you Scott and team!!
