Who’s rocking Arendal speakers & subs in their theater?
I'm rocking 2 1V and they sound incredible
@JRX6KEN Noice!
Dont have a theater, but got Arendal 1723 THX and two 2S subs for music. Love the sound.
@@MrGrill82 Noice! Congrats! So you’re doing two channel with subs?
@@hatoraidcowboy yes I am. It rocks pretty hard❤️
Would love to know in your future videos how things compare to previous setups. Even if just a small mention. Such as 1723 2v (dual woofers) vs dual starke sw15s. Maybe even thoughts on how the 1723 2V compares to your pb-40000. Doesn't always have to be apples to apples. I am just always curious to gather a frame of reference for decision-making. But great videos as always!
I’ll keep that in mind. And thank you!!
Two of my favorite home theater youtubers shane lee and hatoroid cowboy although you copied shane lees title for a subwoofer "dropping bombs" shane lee used that exact title awhile back. Love your videos brother
LOL Thanks brother! I appreciate your kind words it means a lot and Shane has been a big inspiration for me. Oh and if you pay attention we all copy from each other lol
No one's copying. You're all sharing important information and that gives people the opportunity to enjoy their systems even more! 🙏🏼👍🏼@@hatoraidcowboy
Thanks man! I’m glad I have the opportunity to give my little two cents and hope that it helps someone somewhere.
Great work! Arendal should hire you on their marketing team for such a glowing, positive review! Is it the best subwoofer you've had in your theater, and how does it stack up to others you have tried? I agree you should get the umik 1 working with rew or perhaps an even higher quality mic that accurately measures below 20hz for testing of subwoofers.
That’s the plan. Still trying to work out some kinks with REW. Could be my laptop or newbie user errors.
Its not the best subwoofer I have reviewed. Its a very good sub though.
I found that the video on the channel "home theater gurus" episode 7 was extremely usefull and helpful with setup oh my umik, rew and my minidsp. Might help you out with troubleshooting.
@LeeLee-fi7mx Thanks for the tip! I have watched many videos but I really think it is my laptop. I need to do more troubleshooting first.
I rocking dual 1723 2S
Noice!
What are the thoughts using Dirac with bass management and running the same system dual SVS SB3000's up front and dual Starke SW15's stacked behind my main seat (for me which I can easily reach when needed. Do you think integration will work? I am not sure myself, but 2 SW15's on the way this Friday 🔊🔊🔊🔊
Denon 3800h using all 4 independent sub outputs as well.
If you’re using Dirac live with bass management it should level match everything and time align. You’ll have to see how it sounds and see if you like it. You shouldnt have any major issues I would think. Congrats on the SW15 purchase!
You will notice a big difference with 4 subs. Especially if running bass control.
Great video. How does it compare to dual Starke sound 15?
Well SW15’s have 15” so kind of not fair lol The Starke’s go deeper but again….15” drivers and they are stacked
Hey Jordan, how are you? You did a couple of shorts on Dune pt 2, and I was wondering how I would hear that? I’m watching on an IPad, but, do I need to go and put on headphones to hear it?
Hey Wendell. Not necessarily. I’m mainly showing how much the movie works your subs. Its more for visual representation but I did record it with a shotgun mic so you’ll prob get better audio with headphones but its not necessary.
@@hatoraidcowboy I just got the 4k disc, and I may watch it today, if other shows I want to see don’t get in the way.
Skinny cabinet is interesting
Its not as skinny as it looks on video but its definitely “thinner” because they built it up.
So here's the key question: does the 1723 2V only differentiate itself from the 1V at its highest volumes? From the specs it sure can get louder than the 1V, but at more moderate listening levels where both subs would be producing identical SPL would they sound the same?
That’s a good question. Unfortunately I don’t have a 1V to compare it against. I would imagine at lower volumes you would get a more equal outcome. You could probably even eq the 1V if there was an imbalance
Ughhh email just now
Effective August 15th, we will adjust prices for our 1723 Series speakers and subwoofers by up to 12% depending on currency and models.
Yup I got the same email. That sucks. 🙁
Great review. I have 2 of the 1723 1s They do sound great but just shy of oh man. Could be how I set them up or an error on my part but my perlisten d15s’s in the rear sound way more violent in the best way possible. Still tho they are great subs and considerably less expensive to what I’m comparing them too
Yea I think you nailed it. Great subs but just shy of excellent. Man you got 2 D15’s in the rear? Why they not up front? Lol
@@hatoraidcowboy I actually have 3 of them in the rear and the 2 Arendal in front. I think cause of symmetry I keep them in back cause I can’t put the 3rd in the center of the room up front cause of my center speaker. I plan of putting 2 18s up front If I’m patient and save up I’ll get the new perlisten 18s. If I’m not patient maybe 2 rhythmic 18s but I really want the perlisten 18s and since the bass isn’t lacking in the theater I’ll save up for them
@Rob_James Noice! Yea I’d love to get some Perlisten 18’s.
@@hatoraidcowboy I see lots of overtime shifts in my future lol
@Rob_James LOLLLLL Touché
Is Arendal refreshing there lineup ?
They retired the 1961 series and are coming out with a new series later this year.
@@hatoraidcowboy when you say there coming out with new series are they going replace there 1723 lineup. I'm asking because I'm willing to wait for the new editions if there going to give a refresh of the 1723s lineup.
@ultimateone624 No the only thing being “replaced” is the 1961 series. 1723 and 1723s model are still in production
I wish I did lol 😅❤
Beter than PB SB 16 U
$3k!!!
Why are you surprised lol You know this is common in Home Theater. I got two Starke Sound SW15 subs that can be had for buy one get one free. They can’t all be like that lol
@@hatoraidcowboy I saw that video you did on the Starke sub, and saw that it was pretty reasonable. I had considered getting a pair.
@wendellwendellb339 They’re great! Pretty much unmatched with price to performance
@@hatoraidcowboy I currently have the Polk Monitor 60 series towers, and thinking of upgrading to the Polk XT70 towers. Thoughts?
@wendellwendellb339 I had the Polk Monitor 60 towers for 10+ years. The XT70 is definitely and upgrade, but I have yet to hear them personally. I’d do it. I think Andrew Robinson reviewed the XT70 and he loves them.
