I really like that JVC and Epson seem to be working on making these quieter. I have a 5050 and in slower parts of movie nothing pulls me out faster than hearing that fan on full. That doesn't get talked about much but fan noise is an underrated feature to me if its still able to perform well.
I feel you on that. I had the Epson 5040UB right over my head and I had the same experience. Not to mention it could heat up the room. I never heard either projector the entire time I was in the theater at CEDIA
The QB1000 vs the JVC NZ500 will be interesting to see - but unless Epson do something about the US pricing, the JVC is going to be the obvious choice for most people, as few people will see the value in paying $2000 more for the Epson. I have a feeling Epson might rethink pricing once they see it isn't selling. In Europe however, where they are priced more similarly, it's going to be a very interesting head-to-head, but I suspect the NZ500 will win out in a dedicated light-controlled room on screens under 140". On bigger screens, and with ambient light to contend with, it may shift toward the QB1000. Very interested to see head-to-head reviews when people get these in their hands. Of course, if you need gaming features and want 4K @ 120Hz, the Epson is going to be very attractive, but still, paying $2000 more over the NZ500 in the US is going to be a hard pill to swallow for many.
Owning a JVC and knowing how much any form of lights on in the room effect the image I was seriously impressed by the QL series demo. I just wished they had completely turned the lights off to see just how good it could have looked.

This is pretty exciting considering the price points and the brightness you get for it. I thought he was going to say the lenses start at like $7k but was pleasantly surprised to hear $1,700 for the standard lens. I noticed they didn't really play dark scenes in these demos, mostly outdoor stuff. I'm guessing that's to showcase the high brightness even more. Just makes me wonder how they do in dark scenes and fade to black. I have a JVC NZ8 right now and a 160" wide Stewart screen. That's what everyone else in this price bracket has dome like JVC and Sony. There is ZERO excuse to launch anything but a native 4K at this price in 2024. Epson has coasted on their reputation for 5 years now...
Lol why get a Sony or Jvc now? Colour saturation will be about the same as they are based on similar tech.
Epson sez: MISSION ACCOMPLISHED.
Lol
Lol epson q1000 is overpriced, no 3d , no native 4k, not sufficient dci coverage.
I’d take an ls12000 with the addition of dynamic tone mapping and more brightness, which is basically what it is.
@lo_fye And auto low latency. The projectors looked great I am excited.
I don’t know guys, it is definitely not worth the money. Close ro that price is the new jvc nz500z Less brightness but everything else is superior
@@hatoraidcowboy can you provide more insight on how it compares to the LS12000?
@dantep5619 Once I get a review unit I can hopefully
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂epson becoming a laughing stk. No 3d . No 4k . Benq taking over. These will be super flops.
They are def not a laughing stock. BenQ makes good products but they arent even in the Top 3 in the market.
@@hatoraidcowboy y can judge from the comments. They are becoming one . Even I still hav tw 9400.
Like the video. The projector? Meh...
Lol
More brightness, but still not native 4K
I’m ok with it. And honestly I completely forgot….I didnt even think about or notice 4K-eshift during any of the demos. I dont think anyone would notice unless you were watching side by side with a native 4K projector. Even then most people wont notice
@@hatoraidcowboy What ultimately concerns me though is that with E-SHIFT you are introducing yet another “moving part”, even if just electronically, and introducing yet another part that could prematurely FAIL? How well do these projectors hold up over time?
Wait it’s not native 4k120 like the Sony and JVC? Yeah for this price point I’d rather get the Sony
@onisama9589 4K eshift
@@marvinabugov4579hasn’t been any noticeable issues of e-shift functionality failing in the Epson community, ever as far as I read on avsforum.
No 3D, your company is stupid. 3D requires brightness, and you did away with it. Looks like a used JVC.
Woah…CHILL. No need to call anybody stupid
Terrible presentation,when showing video..
