I actually started this game as a joke, as it was in Game Pass. Never in my life have I been more wrong - this game is beautiful, amazing, touching, funny and now one of my absolute favourites of all time! Also the music is absolutely fantastic, I love it and will listen to it. I think I'll start a second playthrough soon, it's so good!
Yeah I started it Friday and ouch that's a wonderful game, really colorful, with good musics and a story that look quite simple but which is damn interesting. I would like to play more games like that today...

I've played this game like 3 times, brought to my attention by Jim Sterling, and man is it just…SO Good! Glad you gave it a chance as well. There's secrets too, but not so obscure that you can't find them without a guide (though no shade on guides)
My neighbor's kids don't have any video games. They really like me and like to come over as often as possible. I typically let them in and lately, I've been setting them up with this game. They really like it. Aged 6 and 8, these two kids last left off in the sunscape. (as of writing this comment) Granted, I've had to help them out with the occasional tough jump and giving them more hints when they can't decipher what they need to do next. Though I rarely just tell them what they need to do. I don't see helping them out as that big of a deal because when I was their age, I'd ask for help with the occasional thing in a game. This will be their very first video game that they've completed and I'm pretty excited to see their reactions to the Wandersong scene. I'll update this comment when that happens, lol.
@@PhilipJFryII Forgot about this comment until now. Their reaction to that scene was underwhelming to say the least. First, the tension was completely demolished by the mayor of Langtree trying to sing 'cause they hadn't heard that earlier in the game. Then they spent a good 10-20 minutes on each "overseeer" part of the wandersong scene, frustrating themselves and each other (especially 'cause they didn't really remember how to do them due to them only being allowed to come over only once or twice per week. But overall they liked the game as a whole. Also, they managed to successfully get Miriam to take Audrey's sword away during the final battle, so there's that. They were good so long as they were given new things to do, but once they had to remember what to do from a previous area, it lost them. In the ending, where they were allowed to talk to all the previous characters, the 8 year old was talking to a lot of people, but the 6 year old didn't like talking to characters, so they cheered whenever they left whatever area they were in. The 8 year old got attached to the characters, but the 6 year old didn't. Oh well. Now I have them playing though the Kirby series.

Though I guess it's not that bad because their father was actively trying to prevent them from interacting with me at all. I think he thought I was evil or something. The reasons he thought that? Probably because I'm pro-vax, I believe in sphere earth, I follow science, I'm not christian, I'm not conservative, I'm within the LGBT+ community, I play video games, and I believe that *children are people and not their parents' puppets*! Big oof, there. He and I had a big, loud argument about most of this stuff and every time I had him cornered, he'd change the subject to try to find more leverage that wasn't there. It was the stupidest argument that I've ever been in and I normally wouldn't bother with that kind of thing, but the kids were there and they needed to see that I was fiercely on their side because in their minds, I was the best and coolest adult ever. They cried when I had to move. All I can hope is that those kids grow up to realize that their parents don't have to control their lives and they can break the cycle. At this rate, I can tell that they're the type of insane parents that would cause their kids to hold such contempt for them that they would cut ties after moving out. Yes, I shattered the kids' perception of their parents as perfect people, but that shattering needed to happen with the thought that there was someone out there who was cheering for them. Again, I can only hope that they grow up to become good people. ... I did tell them where my new place is and they actually know it, so maybe if either they or I can reach out to the other in a few years, I can continue to provide mental and emotional support for them without telling their parents. That'd be ideal.
Without a doubt, this is one of the greatest video game OSTs to ever grace the industry. So much emotion and fun all wrapped into this beautiful package. From the goofy to the intense to the sad to the heartfelt, this soundtrack has it all in spades. Shell InThe Pit is a big bunch of geniuses.

This game is very special to me. A lot of people find the enforced pacifism very frustrating from a political standpoint, but personally I don't think you truly understand the game if your main takeaway is a political message about non-violence. There's so much about the interactions, the characters, and the overall charm around the game that I could go on about for hours. The atmosphere and dialogue is delightful, but most importantly to me, this game manages to create so much from nothing. The level of humanity that each of the characters have and the messages conveyed through their dialogue is all so heartwarming. Overall this game manages to feel so perfect despite not reaching any peaks in development. The passion behind Wandersong is its strength. An article I read phrases the appeal to Wandersong very well: "The game doesn't have a huge amount of traditional replay value, but it sticks in your head like a good song. Sometimes 'this game made me feel good' is reason enough to replay." The person who wrote the article brought up a great point in that, despite Wandersong's flaws, the game still serves its purpose. That's why it's special to me. It never tried to be the best game to ever exist, it just tried to provide the best experience possible. That's why I'm glad Wandersong isn't popular. Not only is our community sweet, but it's small enough that the majority is able to truly understand the game. It's not tainted by harmful arguments or politically-based perspectives on the game, it just exists. Our fanbase follows the game's path in being the perfect escape, and I hope that it continues to stay that way.
I looked up the soundtrack after completing the game because I was usually too focused on getting the notes right at certain parts of the game, my brain tuned out the music that was playing along. I can finally listen to these musical pieces to see how terrific they really are without Bard's voice leading it all the time. Of course I didnt mind listening to him bringing the music to life or activating it when prompted, but when the music got emotional or tense or when the timing was challenging, I couldnt focus on the music as much as I wanted to. Maybe others could, but I had to focus in order to progress. With or without Bard's voice, the music was creative, powerful and beautifully made. Everyone did a magnificent job on this game. I loved just about everything about it 👍 Thank you 🎶

I got "Bolb" on my first attempt (wanted a hobbit-sounding name but didn't realize I only had 4 characters). My second attempt was "Bong", which isn't much better but I ran with it.

Also, what did people here end up calling the bard? I got "Bolb" on my first attempt (wanted a hobbit-sounding name but didn't realize I only had 4 characters). My second attempt was "Bong", which isn't much better but I ran with it.
The canon name for the bard is "kiwi", so I went with that. Personally, I think it's cute and suits them well :3
I first named the bard Vale, I think it's rather fitting :3
