    I have the R15 for 2 weeks now (i9 13900KF; RTX4090; 64GB DDR5; 4 TB NVMe M.2 PCIe SSD), so far this machine is way beyond expectations. Temperatures are in control, fan noise is very acceptable, this PC is SUPER fast and last but not least I play Cyberpunk 4K ultra settings ray tracing maxed out 122 FPS average. So at the end I got what I want.

      @@davidhenderson7791 that’s not what they mean lmao you won’t be able to upgrade the GPU to the 5080-5090 even if you upgraded the PSU. It’s very hard to upgrade these devices because they are prebuilt.

    Looks like Alienware took a few pointers from the absolute flaming that GamersNexus gave this computer chassis 😂😂🔥 I'm glad it's been improved a bit! And as always, your channel is truly great man. I'm along with you in the journey. There are details that make you awesome.

      Yeah he loves to absolutely obliterate Dell in his videos. I appreciate your kind words! It’s really nice to know I have people here along for the ride! I’m definitely not going anywhere! Although last year I thought I wasn’t going to make it as I was only making about 2k a month on TH-cam :/ So much has happened this year though and I am overwhelmingly grateful!

      I still don’t know what to get weather the Corsair or this Alienware r15 for my first pc

    • @JustinTechTips
      @JustinTechTips  ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah man just check out the specs of this thing go.corsair.com/kjYn2z Corsair is definitely offering way more for your money than this Alienware is. Kinda disappointing how much Dell is charging for this. My experience with Corsair showed it to be faster than Alienware when matched spec for spec so I'm pretty confident the i7400 will be better even without testing it yet. Even if it performs the same, thermals will definitely be better and that PC costs a lot less.

    • @victoro8392
      @victoro8392 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      @@JustinTechTips How does Corsair get away with a lot less powerful PSU? There's also frequent coupons and discounts from Dell that mark their systems down by 15-20 percent. There was recently one through Alienware Arena for this very model for 20% off.

    • @cn2673
      @cn2673 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@victoro8392 Dell uses repurposed server power supply’s for their” high end desktops”. Corsair has a lower wattage psu but the quality is almost server like aka enterprise quality. With the corsair you also get good thermals so no loss of performance due to heat.

    Failed to mention that Dell offers HUGE discounts, and you know they do Justin. SO why not talk about it in your review. I got 20% off my r15 by using dell coupons that I googled for. So that take away your price argument. You also made a huge deal about the space between the graphics card and the psu. Yet the 4090 runs well in the safe range around 70-74c from my experience with the same computer. Highly recommend upgrade cpu thermal paste. My r15 doesnt go over 70c while 4k gaming while running background apps. Also got 38,000+ during cinebench r23.

That was with normal Performance mode though. When I used HP's Extreme mode it was the fastest overall for every resolution I did gaming tests with (1080p, 1440p, and 4K)

    I have an R8, and the owner's manual is minimal. The power cable uses 12-gauge wiring. Is there a TH-cam video that explains how to unbox anything? At least you kept that part short and sweet. Glad to see that Alienware didn't place the PSU like the one in my R8. That's a side tip-over waiting to happen.
    Given that 1350-watt PSU, I recommend only using a 20-amp dedicated wall outlet. A the start, you say the PC is a full spec. Near the end, you give the actual cost OF the full spec one. I'd buy one when my R8 finally goes South. I recommend buying their 4-year warranty. Does it come with GPU support like mine?

    • @JustinTechTips

    Hello. I am from India. I would like to say something regarding this Alienware Aurora R15.
    1. It's very good of you that you're comparing Corsair i7400 and it felt like you're recommending that more. As it's using all standard parts and we can easily install a Cooler Master or Antec PSU or any components we want plus it's very cost effective. But unfortunately we don't have any Corsair showroom or Corsair service center at all. But we have tons of Dell stores and Dell Service center so getting an Alienware is the only option here. No doubt even in India Corsair i7400 is cheaper and Alienware is atrocious. But Corsair doesn't sell their PC here.
    2. No matter what anyone says but Alienware can't be beaten aesthetically. Corsair i7400 looks like a normal gaming PC every people had built since ages. That's another thing for which I will buy Alienware.
    3. A lot of people claim that they own this Alienware Aurora R15 and they had said that it doesn't heat much. The temps are very controlled. Also where I live, Alienware products are known as the Audi, BMW, Mercedes-Benz of PC world because of their price and performance.
    Regardless of how many points I mention but point 1 will always stay the strongest point ever. No official launch, no sales, no service, literally nothing. I was planning for a new gaming beast. I don't have much knowledge of PC building and a lifespan of laptop is roughly 3-4 years just similar to our smartphone. So I chose the middleway. A prebuilt Alienware. Every parts being proprietary + it's a desktop PC. So I am sure now it fulfills all my needs. On top of that Alienware Aurora R15 will have 3 years warranty (Dell Customer Care told me about it today)

    Appreciate the honest review Justin. After seeing GN's review of the older R13, I was curious if Dell would actually fix anything. How fast is the boot-up time for the R15 you reviewed here, from when you press the power button to when Windows 11 is fully loaded? Also, have you reviewed any of Origin's PCs? I know Corsair owns them now, but I was curious on your thoughts of something like their Millennium or Genesis models, compared to Dell's R15 in terms of performance and value? ~Scott

    • @JustinTechTips

      Yeah I think the upgrades that were made to make this case better suited for a 4090 have made it much more acceptable for taking on a 30 series GPU. And bumping up the CPU cooler to a 240mm vs the 120mm will make a large difference as well

    I'm going to check out your R16 review, although it's price is higher than the R15 with the 4090. I know the CPU i 14th instead of 13th gen in the R16. I need to see the dimensions as well. My current desk setup I can only go so wide or I hinder air flow. My future desk setup allows for more breathing room. I just need to move a lot of stuff before I can set it up & I am not as young as I used to be, not to mention the 90% VA disabilities and kidney cancer.
    I am really trying to get a good look at the motherboards for the M.2 slots. I want to make sure they will cool enough. I know you can add heat sinks to them, or purchase them with heatsinks like the WD Black, Crucial, etc. Then you can run into space issues depending on the motherboard design, hence the need to see the motherboards.
    This post is almost a year after you reviewed the R15 so the standards and prices have changed. It's not an apples to apples comparison. The back cover on the R15 I liked just for keeping my cats from using the wires as a ladder. I am not sure what the Cryo-Tech brings to the table in comparison to the liquid-cooled solution on the R16.
    The R15 I specced out is i9 13900KF, 32GB DDR5 4800(OC to 5200), 1TB M.2, Dark Side, 1350W PSU - $3,444.99
    The R16 I specced out is i9 14900KF, 32GB DDR5 5200, 2T M.2, 1000W PSU - $3,794.99
    I don't know exactly when Dell drops their Black Friday deals or Cyber Monday ones. I've been using AlienWare since 2006 & when I have issues, which are rare, Dell takes awesome care of me. I purchased a 2080TI from them for an Area 51 & when I upgraded to the R9 I have not it wouldn't fit. I didn't even think to check just assuming it would, my bad. But dell sent me another 2080TI, told me to keep the 2070 Super which I received with the R9, keep the 2080TI I purchased for the Area 51 and they gave me a $450 credit on my account. I was like, cool deal.
    On my R9 now I have some M.2 external drives but the heat is getting to some of them. I'm going to take care of that, with cases that have better heat sinks and mini fans to help. But I do want the internal heat to be better as my R9 internal boot drive is getting warm as well.
