    Back in October I got an Off Road Premium (2023) for $5000 off MSRP in Portland Oregon. KDSS and no sunroof. Deals are out there if you’re savvy. I love it!

      @MeynMotorGroup  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      That's def a Blessing! Massive congrats to you, I saw a channel based in Oregon named Lil Kenny TV, he was showing high discounts at some Oregon dealers.
      Would you mind sharing with us more details regarding your deal, were there additional fees added or inflated dealer fees?
      Even if there is, not a big deal considering how sizeable their discount was. Thanks for sharing!

    • @whippersnappercc

      I had been watching the market for awhile. I started seeing prices normalize last summer. Starting in September I saw tons of 4Runners on the lots here in the PNW. Most dealers were still in full on greed mode. By October I started seeing lots of them advertised for 2-3K under MSRP. I'd say the mix of inventory was heavily tilted towards Limiteds and Off Road and Off Road Premium. I am very tall so having a sunroof was a deal breaker for me, which is unfortunate because most of the ORP's had sunroofs. It's hard to search for a vehicle that is lacking a particular option. I kept checking dealer inventories online looking for what I wanted, which was an ORP with KDSS and no sunroof. I test drove a KDSS and a non KDSS back to back and I had to have that suspension. Lots of curvy mountain roads where I live, and it makes a big difference.
      I found one at Beaverton Toyota in white. I really didn't want white. It was 3K off of MSRP with no BS add ons. If it would have been a color I wanted I would have bought it, but luckily for me they dropped the price another 2K at the end of October. I found one another two hours away from me at Lillard Toyota in McMinnville in Nautical Blue, same exact options. I also found one in Lunar Rock. I know that is the cool trendy color but I liked the blue better. I don't think they'd have given me the same deal on the Lunar Rock and that dealer was shady AF. I called Lillard and told them if they would take $5000 dollars off of MSRP on the blue one I would drive down that day (last day of October) and write them a check for it.
      So I get to the dealership late afternoon and saw the truck, it was exactly what I wanted. The MSRP was roughly $49.3K, and they took $5000 off of MSRP, but told me I had to pay $300 for their bullshit VIN etching "theft deterrent". So in reality it was $4700 off of MSRP. I paid 44,500 or so for an Off Road Premium with KDSS (plus tax and fees, of course). No ADM, no other add ons. I knew I was still getting a killer deal, and if I'd have wanted to make a scene I could probably have gotten it knocked off, but I wasn't going to let $300 harsh my mellow at that point. I love the vehicle. I suppose I might have gotten a little bit better of a deal but I didn't want to risk losing the vehicle that had the exact options I wanted in a color I liked. This was a 2023 by the way. No regrets. I plan on keeping this as my adventure vehicle for a long time. That particular combination of Premium with KDSS and no sunroof is a rare find. I actually took it off roading in the mountains last weekend and used the crawl control and rear locking diff to get myself out of a slushy snow pile. It was incredible!
      Your SR5 looks killer! I love that color. Enjoy!

    As @automotivepress said in his 4runner mini documentary, this is pretty much a Toyota that has lexus build quality and it's still built in the best toyota factory in japan , this is not the latest and greatest , if you want a nice fancy interior go get a bmw o Mercedes and let's see how long it'll last 😅 , the 4runner is for someone who really appreciate the driving feeling of a well put together kinda old school truck ,only a few will know what im talking about 😊

    I've been wanting a 5th Gen 4Runner for awhile and may have to snag up a used one if I can't get one soon.
    The two Trims I am interested in are:
    TRD Off Road Premium for those extra off road features like locking diff & crawl control. Plus softex seats.
    And the SR5 Premium because it has most of what I want in the 4Runner and at a lesser cost.
    I'd want it in Black or Grey.
    The 4Runner really came onto my Radar a couple years ago when my job was flying me all over and I'd have to rent a vehicle. They would upgrade me & offer me the 4Runner. That's when I fell in love with it. It's such a solid vehicle I found myself thoroughly enjoying it every time I got behind the wheel. Just something about it really appeals to me.
    No it doesn't have all the latest tech & bells/whistles some other vehicles have.. but I don't care.. That truck will last me 15-20years.. that is what I want.

      Most 3 row family suv turds are just as bad in the real world 16 is amazing for such an ancient drivetrain.
      Vehicles with 10 speeds and direct injection get maybe 18 mpg real world. All gimmicks with no real world benefit.

    Compliment your 4Runner with a cheap little gas sipper!! And not just ONLY gas money, but also when you need to go somewhere where you have tight congested parking spots and you don’t wanna risk a car door hitting your 4Runner. Or for simply keeping the mileage lower on your “Soon to be extinct” 5th gen 4Runner.

    It’s amazing but they know how much money we’re gonna spend on gas for its lifetime. It’s a lot of money for the 2024 and the tacomas too. What’s the price for trucks in 15 years gonna be like $75k for a base model come on

    • @MeynMotorGroup
      @MeynMotorGroup  24 วันที่ผ่านมา

      To be fair the MSRP is irrelevant as long as the vehicle holds its value. A 200k Porsche GT3 is amazing value because 3 years from now you can sell it for 200k with miles on it…obviously the high buy in price keeps 99% of the world from enjoying that luxury of driving cars essentially for free. Stuff like this 4Runner is as close as most can get to driving cars for next to nothing but we have to learn and adapt

    Bought the 2024 T4R TRD OR in the Solar Octane color. The paint is absolutely horrible quality, it chips off easily from the smallest chip-stones. The 4R is only 4 months old and it wasn't driven in the winter but the underside - especially the frame welds - is rusting already. The vehicle seems very rust-prone. I bought it with the idea that I'd use it for a long time, but I do not see how it would last long with its shitty paint and rust-prone body panels and frame. Build quality, compared to my Acura, is very crude but sufficient for the purpose (long trips, overlanding). Acceleration needs high revving which I dislike - I much prefer the linear acceleration of my Acura's 3.7 V6 - it is much more precise and safe in overtaking other vehicles. The steering is vague and it tracks to right on most roads which is unergonomic/tiring and probably bad for the tires too. The fuel economy is not that bad given its size and its primitive engine-transmission combo. For what it is, I feel the vehicle is severely overpriced; however, I do not see a viable alternative to it on the North American market with regards to the mid-size body on frame offers - the Wrangler is not as comfy and reliable and Bronco's reliability is also questionable. I have to fix the paint chips and put on a Xpel clear bra. Hopefully, this will somewhat mitigate the weak paint issues. But the rust remains an issue - probably, I'd have to rust proof the frame and the body panels.

      @MeynMotorGroup  12 ชั่วโมงที่ผ่านมา +1

      Massive congrats on your purchase beautiful vehicle. So far, I have not had any of those issues.
      Underground paint is swirled up but not chipping and there's no rust.
      Before you pay to do anything, you should take your vehicle to a Toyota dealership and have some of this stuff covered under warranty.
      You have rust coverage of 60 months/unlimited miles. You can get a free alignment done by Toyota within the first year of buying.
      My vehicle tracks straight and does not pull to any side. Also check your tire pressure.
      Toyota might even install free clear bra for you if you mention the paint chipping. Won't be high quality clear bra like Xpel but if they do it for free, it would be worth it.
      Get corporate involved as well.
