I absolutely love my Sumatra 2500 in 25 Cal. I've owned so many rifles, but I just keep grabbing this when it counts, it's super powerful, accurate, and god forgive me, I love the looks.
I have the Stinger in 177 had it for 4 months and can tell you all I take out Rats at 50 yards which is better than almost evey other rifle I have and they are some pretty expensive bits of kit aswell. You may all think it looks Kiddy but once you hold one and shot it you will go and spend your hard earned cash. Nice review Giles.
Been waiting for at least 7 years to see this rifle in the flesh and see it being used . Your purchase links are long gone. But I know where to get them. Thanks to you I know the rifle is well worth while now.

I feel the same way, I love air guns. I just got my Sumatra. Will take it out this weekend. Thanks for all your really informative and entertaining air gun videos.
Giles;; I purchased my Sumatra 2500 in 25cal a year ago... has to be one of my favorite guns... Mine is the US version with over 74 FPE with the Korean pellets... Super accurate at 50 yards. Sounds like a 22LR on high pressure, but on low pressure pretty quiet... get about 15 good shots on high, about 50 - 60 on low power.... I just love this gun , glad you did a review on it so others can see how it preforms and how great it is and cheap.. I paid 649.00 for mine..
Airgun is a real gun. It's just different from the firearm. In my country (Poland) you can't have firearm without license, but you can have aiguns. But if it's more powerfull than 17J then you have to register it and you can shoot only on shooting range.
You are supposed to load the magazine shirt first from the front of the magazine. It cycles very smoothly. I have 3 Sumatras, the 25 cal gets over 80 foot pounds of energy.
Excellent presentation in your usual cheeky and self deprecating style. Informative and fun. The rifle looks like a charmer and performs like a good ‘un. Thank you for brightening my evening.
I'm subbed, have been for a while now, thanks for taking the time out to make the videos and please keep them coming,I saw one of them a few months back in the dive shop when getting my tank refilled and think it's cool ! Glad to see it shoot finally
Very well put together mate! I have this and wanted to check if I am missing anything at all as I am essentially a competitive air pistol shooter. Very crisp informative video and yes I am from India and I love your accent 😊 Keep the videos coming in mate!
may i add to your great review by saying as confirmed by Ray @ AC guns and previously mentioned by the690r the cartridge is best loaded from the front skirt first. thank you
Bought my 1st Air rifle around 1969, a BSA Air sporter "One of the 1st under lever air rifles" It got stolen! 45 yrs later I stumble on "Air gun Gear Show" My childhood enthusiasm re-ignited. MUST get one! Two hurdles to jump, 1st, the wife's not really that keen on guns, of any sort! However hat can be rectified, by telling her i still love her after 40yrs! Secondly, I'm currently renovating my home. So any spare cash should really be spent on materials!!!... Ain't life a bitch sometimes! Frank North Somerset.
I love mine, .25 cal with metal not plastic magazine. I also shoot 48 gn hallow points, not pellets. It will sink a hole into 3/16 aluminum diamond plate at 55 yards, with open sights, they really do work well. On note, mine did have a bunch of barrel droop and had to get a special droop compensator mount for it. It has a scope on it now, it can be taken off in a flash to use the open sights. I have glasses, so scopes, spotting scopes, bino's are a pain in the ass at times.
Have it now for half a year and it is tremendous! Shoot everything - if you can find the right setting - and with a modificated Huma-air silencer, I don't even wake up the neighbours anymore! Wonder if it could be made regulated.
It looks to me...Sumatra Carbine.Correct me if am wrong mate.I have a ,25 but looks longer than this picture of yours.Nice review. And it is heavyweight.I only use for target practice with bench rest.Love mine too.
andres bula Would love to shoot it on higher power, by all reports it is even more impressive, but I have the sub 12 to test, and thats it. Thanks for watching Mr Bula. Giles
A 28 gr projectile with a muzzle velocity of 950 fps would produce approximately 56 foot pounds of energy at the muzzle. Assuming you're using 28 gr pellets "sub 12ft Lb" (at 50 yards?) must be somewhere in the neighborhood of 450 fps at the muzzle? If that's true, I really feel bad for our friends in the UK. They're treating you like children if your limited to such low muzzle velocities. Is there also a limit on muzzle energy? Or could you legally fire a 500 gr projectile at 450 fps producing close to 225 ft lbs of muzzle energy? Sorry for asking so many questions. Here in the USA these type of things are pretty much unregulated.
I think they were smart enough to go by energy and not speed. You said they are being treated like children, but my parents let me buy a 20 gauge shotgun for small game hunting when I was 12 years old, (Had to take a hunters safety course, good idea for a new hunter). But it is actually worse than that. It is basically disarmament of their citizens under the guise that the citizens are potential murderers. Treated like children, and potential criminals. When it is the proper role of law to protect liberty, (not dissolve it, which is tyranny), who is the criminal here? This gun is a very versatile mid and big game hunting gun in .50 cal., and even shoots a bolt, (a bit different of a end than a cross bow's, but a tad faster and at least as accurate).
Hey you guys, whats the shooting statics for the USA this year alone so far ? , well we done have very many here there are always some criminals shooting anyone but School/college/workplace/ shopping area killings by guns doesnt really happen as when it does its reported everywhere Radio,tv,newspapers emails facebook texts almost everyone in the uk knows before the end of the incident, we can go about our daily lives un armed and normally return home safely ..... treated like children if you cant go out without carrying is it really a freedom thing ?
BloodnGutz43 yes, all humans should be born with an inane right to defend themselves... As for our safety, we now have more knife and gun murders and incidents in London than in New York? So, basically in this county I’d someone had a know and wants to take your life, then say hello to your maker. Wives and partners traveling home on a winters night, taking the tube or walking home... Raped and murdered unnecessarily because they can’t even carry pepper spray..... Sorry, if that’s progress you’re living in dreamland..... Tell that to the hundreds murdered, raped and abducted... All because the police, government and the left have got their way... Helpless sheep, easy to push around, heavily tax and fine... Yeah, progress.... Or capitulation.... The elderly are referred to as mugs in the U.K., easy targets.. Criminals, numerous burglaries before a custodial sentence is even considered... Progress! 🤔
found one at last @ Cardigan sports. in Wales. now the biggest pain is the Magazine, walking around with spare mag in your pocket/tin/leather purse etc etc. the pellets always fall out. I have tried all sorts of bottle tops that fit to no avail. we need a plug for both ends of the mag. any Ideas Giles...............cheers Briddy.
Cheers for the review. Purchased the 500 version yesterday. Instructions seen to indicate that the metal magazine needs to be loaded from the front skirt first. Also the power adjustment wheel has 3 different coloured dots matching up to the red, green and black dots on the frame and is a little confusing, do I match the black dot on the wheel with the black dot on the frame ? Is if safe to store with over 80 psi still in it ?
It's an innovative design, surely the stock is so large, perhaps it needs a reservoir built in there. Imagine having a large gas container in there with a tube leading up to the firing mechanism. The home made US airguns seem to do this. PCP is the way to go.
Didn't show how the pump action works, didn't show it with varied ammo and didn't show how to alternately fill the air cylinder. ALL of which are super important if I am going to purchase an air rifle. So, I guess I'll have to look on another site to find out how good it really is.
Very good review! I enjoy the new format, and you've got me interested in this air rifle. It was because of you, ted and the other quality channels on youtube, i started air rifling in the first place. having a bought a quality FX air rifle, which im enjoying immensly, and afterwards purchasing an air pistol, im now looking into getting a quality springer, but then you come along with this quality review and now im torn between giving this a try or a diana 54/56.

Where can I buy one??? Apart from setting up an importing company and bring them into the UK myself, there doesn't seem to be anywhere in the UK selling this rifle. I WANT ONE!!!
Plus if it's .25 cal it's more powerful. For example is an air gun shoots a .357 at 130 fpe. Now a .22 longrifle bullet will give around 120 fpe. This doesn't mean just because there fpe are close that they give the same damage, this doesn't mean the .357 is as powerful as a .22 remember .357 is much much larger in diamenter. Even though similar fpe the .357 is deadlier. These sumatra are shooting almost as fast as a real .22 but with a larger round
@@mrsandman5436 lol, even if you are right, which you arent, then wow your shitty airgun is almost as powerful as one of the weakest cartridges out there. impressive
I have this in FAC it's a great riffle. But pretty sure your loading it wrong. I and every other video I've seen you load the skirt first from the clear end, not pushing them in from the back.
AirgunGearShow good afternoon, tell me one thing: what is the autonomy of this sumatra, by cilidro? At low, high power, or only per cylinder. thank you waiting for a reply.

Does the air bottle get in the way of the muzzle threads? Also,if I were to buy one sub-12 ftlbs and wanted it on fac any idea if they can get the power wheel changed by a gunsmith?
z robertson I meant like if they brought in licensing figured I should look at whether or not a gunsmith could change the valves for me since if it's registered as a firearm anyways then might as well get it upped,no sense buying a pcp that can't be upped if you ask me unless we're certain they won't have licensing brought in.
ok, just one question. I've been watching many many of these videos, and almost every one that Giles has made. When firing the weapon for groups, why dont any one ever adjust the sites and gun to hit dead center? They aim dead center, but the shot is almost always off center, so they stay there? When I was trained in the Army you adjusted the sites, up, down, so on on to get a dead center grouping. Granted wind and weather make a difference, but you never see airgun shooters do this. Isnt the point of having sites and such that are adjustable to actually adjust them?
Looks like the maker is claiming 950 fps firing a 28 gr pellet on the maximum power setting. What velocity can be expected from the British version that's locked on the medium setting?
This is nice but the Parker Hale phoenix looks way nicer shoots better and they put the cylinder inside the Stock yet again us Brits did it better no open sights tho
Is the Sumatra 500 a rifle by SAMYANG or Air Venturi? Or is SamYang Air Venturi? Whenever I see it on websites they either mention one of the two ( differs per website ) I'm confused hahah, I heard Air Venturi is bankrupt and it's hard to get spare parts and repairs, does anyone have some advice for me here?
@@Iron_Sharpens_Iron Yep, because I have only just considered buying one, and for anyone with common sense the response should be........Does the pellets still fall out , 4 years on???

Hi there ,you must get a role in peaky blinders series .
you cannot adjust the power in the United Kingdom can you change it when you leave the country or is it stuck at that
Yaaaaay finally. Sumatra got viewed, but made in Korea? 🤔
ok, just one question.
Of course you can adjust sights in airguns, but there's no point to do that for review. Size of the group is essential to see how precise the gun is.
Some of us prefer open sights... :D
2 different magazines?? a video from Pyramide Air shows a metal magazine which being loaded tipp backwards.

Looks like the maker is claiming 950 fps firing a 28 gr pellet on the maximum power setting. What velocity can be expected from the British version that's locked on the medium setting?
It can't be much more power, since the UK Laws really Suck! concerning even air rifles.
Nice review but not my choice of air rifle.
Don't suppose you have one of the Walther RX8 in the pipeline..?

Is the Sumatra 500 a rifle by SAMYANG or Air Venturi? Or is SamYang Air Venturi? Whenever I see it on websites they either mention one of the two ( differs per website ) I'm confused hahah, I heard Air Venturi is bankrupt and it's hard to get spare parts and repairs, does anyone have some advice for me here?
Is this the carbine version?
Hi, what is the thread size on the end of the barrel?
can also a silencer be adapted ?
So whats the point of them supplying 2 magazines with it if you cant keep the 2nd mag loaded, due to the pellets falling out?
Takes you 4 years to start whining?
@@Iron_Sharpens_Iron Yep, because I have only just considered buying one, and for anyone with common sense the response should be........Does the pellets still fall out , 4 years on???
