- The Yanmar M60F mid-mount mower deck turns your SA324/424 into a mowing machine, further increasing the capability of the tractor. The fabricated mower deck is well constructed and uses cast iron spindles. We look at installation, adjustment and removal. We also look at a feature on the current SA series of tractors that can save you money and down time.
I really really appreciate your video. I have bought a used Yanmar SA424, decided to add mid deck mower. I bought a used mower, it came with no instructions. There were lots of links and attachments to be attached under the tractor. I had hard time adding links and attachments, thanks to your video I was able to pickup bits and pieces. I have installed installed the mower successfully. The local dealer and Yanmar corporate were no help providing any information. The nearest dealer is 80 miles away, I was thinking about loading up the tractor and drive to the dealer. Thank God I didn't have to drive 80 miles again. Thanks again.

Wow, I wish I had that fan shield. Bought mine in 2017 and sure enough, one stick in the woods took all the blades off that fan. Cost me $350 to replace, not counting transporting the machine. I might contact my dealer for that shield.
Great video. Thanks for sharing. I had to laugh at that last bit there about the fan. I have the same tractor and it has the shroud around the fan and I still took out the fan while using the brush hog. Luckly it was still under warranty.
It’s good to hear that your repair was covered under warranty. The shroud appears to offer a lot of protection for the fan but obviously it is still possible for things to get into the fan in certain situations. Thanks for the feedback.
@@doodletract5252 When I was shopping for tractors and decided on the Yanmar one of the things that sold me was the warranty. Our local dealer is also very reputable. They go the extra mile to make things right.
Can you shoot a quick video of how this deck is lifted up? that would be very helpful. I called Yanmar America today, they told me that I need lift kit to make this mover go up and down. Thanks

That seemed a little involved to me. While I agree it would save money, I think it would be better in the long run to have a dedicated mower separate from the tractor one uses for tractor stuff around the homestead or farm. Still, I enjoyed watching the video. :)

Thank you. Great video. There aren't a lot of videos on the midmount mower. Re: the lift arms, does the latch lock onto the silver and black rods on the left side of the tractor or just the right? On our 324, it is just the right side. And how did you lift up the mower deck?
Our 324 has the locks on both sides, to lock them you rotate them from the silver rod to the black rod on the right and left lift arms. I’m not sure if the earlier models have the same design. As far as lifting the mower deck. I usually just lift the front of the mower deck by hand to lean it against my workbench, I use a rubber tarp strap to hold it there. A chain hoist or something similar could also be used. Thank you for the feedback and for watching!
I can't find a yanmar dealer within 250 miles of where I live in West Virginia. Why should I buy one without a dealer closer?
Anyone have the mid mount deck for the Yanmar SA221? If so, do you drive over that one or slide it under from the side? Mine has plastic parts on top and not all steel to allow the tractor weight.
Thanks for sharing. I'm curious how those tires handle a normal lawn? I imagine they tear it up if you're not careful.
The R4 tires cause very little yard damage. I mow in 2WD most of the time and only put the tractor in 4WD when necessary, I think that helps keep yard damage to a minimum.

WILL A 48INCH BELLY MOWER FIT THIS UNIT?
How fast can you mow? Do you have to use low range? Do the tires tear up your lawn? I assume the throttle should be set at pto rpm?
We are able to mow in high range on most of our yard, but the yard is fairly flat. The R4 tires don’t really tear up the lawn unless they spin. Yes, we mow at the PTO RPMs. Thanks for watching.

The axle seal was leaking, I noticed it when editing the video. The axle seal was replaced under warranty. Thanks for watching!
do NOT use a tractor regularly to mow grass the soil compaction is HUGE
