Tiller Time! Yanmar SA 324 and HawkLine Tiller. Maintenance, Slipping Clutch and Tilling.
Before doing spring tilling we need to do some maintenance on our 3PT HawkLine tiller. We check gear oil, grease the side bearing, lubricate the PTO shaft, slip and adjust the slip clutch. We also get in the garden and put the tiller to work.

Yanmar SA 324 Mowing with the Mid-Mount Mower (Does it Make the Cut?)
มุมมอง 18K2 ปีที่แล้ว
Mowing with the Yanmar SA324 sub compact tractor and the M60F Fabricated mid-mount mower deck. We take a look at the SA 324 in action mowing. We also look at the cut quality of the mower deck.
Yanmar SA 324 Quick Attach Bucket plus YL210 Loader Removal and Install
มุมมอง 13K2 ปีที่แล้ว
The Yanmar SA series of tractors use a proprietary quick attach loader bucket. In this video we are going to remove and install the quick attach bucket and take a look at the quick attach design. We also go through the removal and install of the YL210 front end loader(FEL). This loader is used on the SA324 and SA424. Their little brother the SA221 uses the YL110 loader but the general design of...
Will It Cut? We take a closer look at the mid-mount mower on the Yanmar SA324.
มุมมอง 33K2 ปีที่แล้ว
The Yanmar M60F mid-mount mower deck turns your SA324/424 into a mowing machine, further increasing the capability of the tractor. The fabricated mower deck is well constructed and uses cast iron spindles. We look at installation, adjustment and removal. We also look at a feature on the current SA series of tractors that can save you money and down time.
Why We Chose the Yanmar SA 324 (did we make the right choice?)
มุมมอง 22K2 ปีที่แล้ว
We purchased the Yanmar SA324. We talk about why we choose Yanmar, what features come standard and what did Yanmar leave out.
Not powerful enough for a backhoe. Anything under 30hp is an overpriced mower with barely capable options
Thinking of getting a used one this weekend!
I'd like to see what the trick is to remove a "Yanmar" brand tiller tine. Has anyone been successful? Removed the bolt. I have tried with a vise grip and 5 pound puller hammer an no luck. Maybe a torch and heat the mount? Let me know.
I use the leaf blower on my tractor after each time I mow as well, blow all the grass and dirt out from the engine bay, and clean the radiator filter out, and the engine air filter....gets dusty here in my area during the summer. In your case with the wide open area you mow, its too bad they don't offer a 72" mower deck LOL.
Hello sir, I am Terry . Have really enjoyed watching your videos on the tractor as I am currently looking into one of these myself after a lot of research. Sir there is another video here of a gentleman whom claims that once the loader is removed that he has steering issues due to a light front end ?? Have you experienced anything like this and all in all I'm sure you have a few more hours now in the machine so how has it continued to treat you ? Your feedback would be greatly appreciated 🙏 Thank you very much in advance 🙏
Sooooo can it cut? You never showed any footage of that. 🤔
Super filmik 💪👍
Seems like a ton of work. Maybe just buy a dedicated mower?
Good video.
Super filmik 👍
I can't find a yanmar dealer within 250 miles of where I live in West Virginia. Why should I buy one without a dealer closer?
Didn’t see if in fact it would cut and how well…
Can you shoot a quick video of how this deck is lifted up? that would be very helpful. I called Yanmar America today, they told me that I need lift kit to make this mover go up and down. Thanks
I have the virtually identical unit made by Cub/Yanmar (sc2450). I often wondered if the mowing deck was drive-on. I’ve been rolling it in from the side and connecting it up. I’ll have to check for the fan shroud. Nice looking property! Regards from NY
I really really appreciate your video. I have bought a used Yanmar SA424, decided to add mid deck mower. I bought a used mower, it came with no instructions. There were lots of links and attachments to be attached under the tractor. I had hard time adding links and attachments, thanks to your video I was able to pickup bits and pieces. I have installed installed the mower successfully. The local dealer and Yanmar corporate were no help providing any information. The nearest dealer is 80 miles away, I was thinking about loading up the tractor and drive to the dealer. Thank God I didn't have to drive 80 miles again. Thanks again.
very helpful video. Thank you!!!!
Yeah we got one. Thanks for sharing.
looking at the 325 with turf tires. How are the R4s on your lawn. Would you go back get R4s instead?
The R4 tires do not tear up the lawn, but if I were to buy again I think I would consider turf tires. The R4s are not good when plowing snow, I think turf tires would have been a better all around choice for us.
@@doodletract5252 -Sorry for the typo- meant to say would you go back and get the turf tires- thanks for answering!!!!
You never showed it cutting.
I have one and it only has 59 hours and I've had nothing but issues with it I'm going to a 3 point finishing mower
@billcooper54, no details?!?
nice solis
Thank you for the video. 👍
Will it cut?!
How fast can you mow? Do you have to use low range? Do the tires tear up your lawn? I assume the throttle should be set at pto rpm?
We are able to mow in high range on most of our yard, but the yard is fairly flat. The R4 tires don’t really tear up the lawn unless they spin. Yes, we mow at the PTO RPMs. Thanks for watching.
Thanks for reply. One of the better videos on the subject out there.
Does your Yanmar smoke very much on cold start up?
Looks nice also the best first words about letting it warm up 👌 proud of ya bud
Does the 3pt hav downward pressure? Sorry for all the questions i am thinking of yanmar
Oh you answered my questions about the attachment system
Great video! Thanks. After watching this video I may opt for the Yanmar 324 over a greater HP JD (which is much more expensive).
That rear axle looks awful oily
The axle seal was leaking, I noticed it when editing the video. The axle seal was replaced under warranty. Thanks for watching!
Super helpful video. Thank you! I find it difficult to reach the PTO shaft.
I watched your video and ended up buying an SA325 8 weeks back. At about 18 hours, I very much agree with your assessment. Thank you. Not enough content on the Yanmar tractor on TH-cam.
Put cows on the grass once a mo
The dealer just dropped off my 223. I bit of a difference from an 8N! Career Army and police officer, and I admit to being more than a little intimidated by this tractor! I didn't I could be scared so easily anymore. Seriously, this was a helpful video!!! There aren't too many out there on "basic" operation for beginners like me. Thank you!!!
Anyone have the mid mount deck for the Yanmar SA221? If so, do you drive over that one or slide it under from the side? Mine has plastic parts on top and not all steel to allow the tractor weight.
That seemed a little involved to me. While I agree it would save money, I think it would be better in the long run to have a dedicated mower separate from the tractor one uses for tractor stuff around the homestead or farm. Still, I enjoyed watching the video. :)
I’m looking to buy new after I sell this house and purchase the next house. Sold my Kubota last summer. God I miss my loader. Yanmar looks great. One of the three Im considering actually.
It's been 10 months since you uploaded this video. Would you still buy a Yanmar today? I'm considering a Yanmar over a Kubota.
Yes, I would still buy the Yanmar. At the time of posting the video I had already owned the tractor for about a year. The only issues I’ve had with the tractor are a small axle leak that was repaired under warranty and one of the hood clips broke, it will be handled under warranty when the hood becomes available.
Where did you get that steering wheel knub from. Just ordered a sa325. I need one of those
Wow, I wish I had that fan shield. Bought mine in 2017 and sure enough, one stick in the woods took all the blades off that fan. Cost me $350 to replace, not counting transporting the machine. I might contact my dealer for that shield.
You have a nice place out there. I am considering a sub , or compact for finish mowing. My Yanmar 2020D has been reliable, but has ag tires and no mid pto. It sinks in the clay we have here, most of the year. I see a new generation of tires out there. Just wondering how well your rig floats. It looks like firm ground compared to what is here, unless we go into drought , in which case it may as well be concrete! Coyotes almost wiped out the ground hogs in these parts. Thanks Chris
Nice video. I have owned my SA324 almost two years, it's been great. For those folks concerned about the hydro locations it's been a non-issue for me. One thing that did occur was the braking sensor/switch. Couldn't leave the seat without the engine cutting out. Simple fix: the switch 'plunger' was hitting the metal enclosure so it was as if the brake was not engaged. It's located on underside of the platform near the pedals. Long screwdriver was used to push the metal tab, fixed it. I looked at similar tractors but the ten yr warranty and close dealer sold me. Small things like arm rests are standard. Simple tractor, nice price.
Nice tractor, thank you for your video. 😊
I had a SA424 for 18 months , was not a fan of the 2 range hydro the high is too high except for Highway and the low is not low enough I could get it in a bind and it would not spin a wheel or go , the hydro had lots of whine and coming from a geared tractor I did not like having to rev the engine way up to make it more responsive. Pushing dirt was a unenjoyable chore. The loader and the backhoe were impressively strong but as I said the lack of a true low gear was the main deal breaker I traded on a L2501 Kubota manual transmission and love it . I just prefer a lower rpm machine with no hydro whine and it pushes like a little tank it has a much more massive rear end too. The Yanmar is probably well built and has a long warranty but it is a much lighter duty tractor too much so for me.
Hmm I'm on a steep slope. I have terracing to do. You've got me worried now.
@@yusufgerald3969 I had the backhoe too which was 700 pounds. No need to worry but you may wont to rent a excavator for certain jobs I dont like doing much on steep ground with any tractor.
@storemannc, wow! You whined like a 🐈 about Yanmar, which is a sub compact and equivalent to a Kubota B series, and traded for Kubota L series which is 2 series higher. Of course it has a more massive rear end…🤦♂️. If your tasks don’t require constant change of speeds or direction, of course a gear drive is better than a hydrostatic drive. The problem is, the original tractor you purchased did not fit your needs and the larger tractor you traded for did. Congratulations, but that doesn’t mean there was a problem with the Yanmar, just a problem with the idiot owner
Had my mind made up to buy Yanmar until I discovered where the hydraulics connect. Still not ruled it out, but is a big concern. Great video!
I was also looking at the hydraulic connection and was worried a bit at first but haven't had any issues even going through brush it would be hard to damage it.
you pose with the tractor.... stop. its not about you. grow up or get a life.
Its not a lawn tractor.... Its a tractor. Get a zero turn and cut that in 85% of the time that does.
Zeros are good. Ferris, rules here, but bad boy is catching on. Huskysdo well. I am tired of keeping a bunch of machines in order. My barn is stuffed. So I am thinking a compact would do every thing. Of note, Zeros do not do well in hilly areas, like here, nor do the do well in greasy mud.
Seems like it’s cookin along pretty fast.
WILL A 48INCH BELLY MOWER FIT THIS UNIT?
Oh this needs mirrors. I put 2 on mine.
One thing I noticed is they don't work as a bulldozer using the loader. I had a fern that wouldn't budge. A fern! The roots were strong. So a tractor is great but sometimes you need a bulldozer. These are only 25 hp.
The horse power is not the problem 25 is plenty , the problem is getting the power to the ground and weight . If your wheels are spinning you need more weight , but if it won’t push and the wheels don’t spin then you are in too high of a gear.
