  • I walk you through my method of preparing the Mamba X for use. I do this on all my Mamba X series ESC. This is my own variation and so if it matches someone else's it is not intended to be a copy. I have been doing this method for a long time. This method has worked terrific for me and I hope you find it useful. If you dont think waterproofing is necessary on the Mamba X you can find info on Castles website under Resources select Maintaining Motors in Wet Conditions. As always check out #DixielandRc for all your needs.

    Great video and info, I’m just wondering because I have the mamba x esc and it says it can run 6s but there are no 6s motors for it and I was thinking about putting a mamba monster with the mamba x esc so I can use 6s but the bullet connecters on the motor is 6.5mm and on the esc is 4mm so it won’t fit so I’m stuck. Thx keep up the good work.

    Took the fan off now esc doesn't have throttle. Thanks!

    • @axletwisterrc4526
      @axletwisterrc4526  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The fan has absolutely nothing to do with throttle control or arming the esc. Make certain you didn't bump your throttle trim on the radio because if the esc can't 0 the throttle, it won't arm. The only possibility beyond that would be if you pulled on the fan white plug without holding the plastic on both sides. It's very unlikely you moved the main harness enough to disconnect things but its a good idea for you to check. If you removed the main plug that is black and has the receiver wires,fan wires and on off switch wires please verify you put it back in the correct direction. All I can assure is any throttle input issue can't be caused by the fan not being plugged in. Please let me know if you would like any further info.

    Excellent video, but mate, and advice, never pull the cables, pull the plugs, this prevent a future contact failure.

    • @axletwisterrc4526
      @axletwisterrc4526  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Very true. Unfortunately the plug is way down inside the case. The only way to grip the plug is by pliers witch may damage the plug. Either way is a bit of a gamble. I have yet to have any problems and if someone does the Holmes cable is a better one to use for replacement.

      @@axletwisterrc4526 you can use a tweezers for this work.

    • @axletwisterrc4526
      @axletwisterrc4526  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@juanmarichal263 you can try but the grease makes them not work well. I have tried all sorts of methods. If they slip and mess up the wire its worse than just pulling on the wires by spreading out the pressure across the wires evenly and gently pulling. The connection isn't that tight to fatigue the wires or connections.
      I have been doing this since The Novak GTB came out back in the day when I used to race touring cars. Either way works my friend, it's just picking your preferred method. If tweezers work great for you please keep doing it. Thank you for sharing your thoughts on it. I am positive someone will find it helpful.

    Doing this couldn't possibly be any more unnecessary! In fact, you would run a high risk of compromising the integrity of the connections. 😳

      In fact everything done in this video is provided as written instructions on Castles website. It just works and has never caused negative effects. Not doing this has proven to infact cause issues, especially when using in water. I am actually way more cautious in this video than needed.
      Castle had a extra section for this on the website now they just list it in the FAQ section. You can find it using the link below. It is #12 last paragraph.
