I put the hobbywing quickrun 120 in my trx4 with an 8th scale 2150kv motor in it, I had to shave down the servo mount to fit the motor but it was worth it the 2150 brushless is perfect I can slow speed crawl and high speed bash if I want. I love how easy it is to set up a hobbywing I bought a program card but I didn't need it to with the quickrun so I use it on my Xerun SCT pro instead.
Instead of drag brake adjustment, you should be using the rock race mode. It will give you drag brake and crawler reverse in low gear and normal brakes and reverse in high gear. Allows for better crawling in low gear and better braking control in high gear.
Where is this setting?
Also you should try the xmaxx with dual Trx-4 tires to see how well it climbs
figured it out set aux to crawler/rock race then set reverse to normal with 100% drag brake and brake then 1st gear has instant reverse with 100% brake and drag brake second gear has normal reverse no drag brake and I may be wrong but brake seems weaker than in first gear

switching to rock race mode turns off drag brake. I use it as first gear full crawler settings then second gear is the same but without drag brake

Couldn't you use a small rheostat in the auxiliary wire from the Y link to control how much drag brake?

Hi :) so to put it simply, the AUX wire can be plugged into a Y harness? I only have a 3ch receiver, so I was going to plug the AUX and ESC fan wire into a Y harness
I just wish I could set the bec voltage to 6.6 for my servo as it has 5 6 or 8
I set my trx4 up like yours but mine seems to run in reverse now. (Forwards is reverse and reverse is forwards)
Does anyone know how you can turn the drag brake down with this setup? It really needs a separate channel but this radio does not have any more!
How do you turn on the aux lead without PC?
Try with: Servo End Point Adjuster, just Google it.
RIDEROFTHESTORM 5150 he is using that to hook the aux wire from the esc to the shift servo so when in first gear it is in crawler setup and second gear it's in a more race setup so he won't crash if he lets off the gas at 20+mph
After changing to the Mamba X I've noticed when I stopped it sounds like I have drum brakes on and makes a hideous noise

Hey there I'm having a little problem I have a trx4 and I just put the Mamba X and forward is reverse and reverse is forward took it into my local hobby store and he reversed it back to where Ford is Ford and reverse is reverse but now forward is slow and reverse is slower how do I make it go forward back to this fast as what it was
So you run that esc on 6s Kevin?

its not an exact figure,. turnover was around £280,000 profit around 1/3 you can make much more but most people make less it all depends how much effort you put in

Kevin, I am running a similar setup with aux wire and 2 speed on the Mamba X.
When i set the end points for my shift servo I lost my drag brake toggle on the 3rd channel. I have my aux set to rock crawler/rock racer and it was previously working that way. It gives you drag break and crawler reverse in first position, then normal reverse and no drag brake in race mode.
You know that the motor can only take 3S
