    It looks great! Super clean, well thought through, more than functional. The shower looks better than most everything I've seen, so sweet work on the tiling! The light box approach for lighting will be great too as a backdrop for any colored glass items if you run a short shelf along in front of them. Bon voyage!

      @TheVoyagerProject  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Victor Mcphail thank you! The tile has even been tested on the road for a bit now and so far so good! We were hoping the smaller size tile would be a little more resilient to the bumpy roads

      @TheVoyagerProject  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      We didn't even think of a shelf for glass things but that's brilliant!! We'll definitely have to look into doing that somehow! And thank you very much for the kind words, we really appreciate it 😁

      Thank you very much! And yeah it's weird being a month in but also almost 2 months back on videos. But we've been busy enjoying our trip and obviously that's the important thing. But yeah we have one more hybrid video coming out next of the actual finished bus and the first stop on the trip and then after that all travel videos and bus lifestyle stuff!

    I'm doing a skoolie this year and have been undecided about how to do my sofa. UNTIL (!) I saw how you did yours. What a brilliant design. Do you have specs (measurements, directions, materials list, etc.) for your sofa? I must make one of these. Thank you for sharing your journey and excellent design ideas.

    I'm not a plumber but all gas or propane lines that have been plumbed in my homes had either been galvanized pipe or in my current home it is a type of plastic tubing rated for gas or propane. I have never seen the use of quick disconnects but rather secure fittings. Again I'm not a plumber but I would certainly seek the advice of a plumber in this application. Leaking propane could cause affixation and or an explosion.

    • @TheVoyagerProject
      @TheVoyagerProject  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Haha yeah Ryan knows the technical sides of furniture building very well, but we each have our specialty. At the beginning of the project we decided to split our skills and focus on different tasks, Sam had more experience in the photo and video world than Ryan and so he focused on that so you could enjoy the things we Design and Build, and Ryan focused his efforts on the technical side of things. Sam handled the solar panel system though as he has prior experience building robots/3D printers and working with electronics in general. And Ryan has had some construction experience prior to the bus. We're glad you like the build though!

    awesome idea on those window shades

  • @Deshawolf

    You have mentioned about planing this for a year befor building. I'm also wanting to make a skoolie. I don't know if you already have a video but I am have been looking into what materials to use, solar panels, fans, water system, insulation. And I'm planing on just doing the walls first (insulation, solar, material for walls, water heating)and do the bed, storage, kitchen, bathroom etc. As I go. I'm not sure if I will need more planning or if this is a good idea. I also am tryin gb to keep it more mimimal. I'm not thinking on building ony storage underneath the bus. What I'm asking is how far did you plan this? Do I need to think more asking bout this before I start?

    • @TheVoyagerProject
      @TheVoyagerProject  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Nadine Volkov that's a really good question, it all just depends on what you want out of your build. We didn't know carpentry very well so what took us so long was designing and planning every cut of wood we were going to make, doing a lot of research and trying to do everything digitally before physically. If you just want to start building you can, and if you're good at that it can be a great build. You just need to be careful since you're doing it without a lot of planning. But it's also ok to do it however you want 😊

    • @TheVoyagerProject
      @TheVoyagerProject  6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Thank you 😁, and we purchased them off of Craigslist locally. A guy buy 1000 for his house to get the cheapest price and is now just selling off the extras lol, but you can find brand new ones very cheap on Craigslist

  • @Coolbreeze61
    @Coolbreeze61 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    on the window shades, how did you do that, are they rolled up when down, is it a kit, where did you get them and do they come in different colors?

    • @TheVoyagerProject
      @TheVoyagerProject  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Great question, there is a cavity inside the walls on the outside of the insulation that we built into the walls and the shade itself is a dual wall polycarbonate sheet of plastic often used in greenhouses as the windows because of their very low price and insulating properties. It's a custom thing we designed ourselves and they do come in different colors but they have to be ordered in that, we just bought ours at Home Depot

    • @Coolbreeze61

      your's looked like they were frosted

    • @TheVoyagerProject
      @TheVoyagerProject  6 ปีที่แล้ว

    I don't know how many people end up tripping over and pitching forward and possibly injuring themselves when people install the edging such as you have. It should have been inset the thickness of the edging with a router, u don't want some a-hole suing you !!

    • @TheVoyagerProject
      @TheVoyagerProject  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      1armedguy we ended up hand sanding all the edges to round them off, but you're right, they definitely needed it

    Your vehicle is heavy and steering tires are expensive. Please don’t dry steer. Keep the bus moving, even ever so slightly, when you turn the wheel. You can wear or damage them.

      Karma Shim we made them ourselves. Home Depot sells dual wall polycarbonate sheets that we cut to the size we needed. We then glued a spray painted piece of thin guage steel as the pull handle.
