This is the first schoolie I have seen that is the same size as mine. I was so close to hitting the road when my three beautiful grand daughters found themselves in very sad and unfortunate circumstances and were going to be split up by child protection services. They had already lost so much that I couldn't watch them lose each other. So I put my plans on the back burner and made a home for the three girls with me. And since then I have been living vicariously through you guys and many others..LOL..But just a couple months back I came across a 28 foot school bus for sale and thought "that's the one"...the full size are just too big to park anywhere...the short bus is just not enough room to be a "home" on the road. So I got it with the hope that one day I would actually do the conversion. I don't know how it all fell together quite so quickly, but it is in being inspected now and I have hired the guy to do the roof raise (so I can accommodate triple bunks) and I am hitting the road this summer with three little girls. The best part of the bus is that it is duel fuel. Gas and Propane powered. I am so excited. Its my dream bus. And you guys have helped so much with being able to have a visual of what will fit and so forth. I am soooo jealous...LOL...and also so happy for you. I cant wish you enough wonderful moments and safe travels. Great job guys...Keep an out there for us...A white schoolie the same size...and on the side it has painted "It's A Wander-FULL Life" Blessings your way guys..and thanks for the video's!

Anne Bell what an inspiring story. That is beyond cool, stepping in and saving the girls. That must have been incredibly hard, and it's amazing that even through such things you are persevering the best you can and still following your dreams. We are so glad that even our dream could help inspire yours. Let us know if we can help in any way!
      Sincerely,
      Sam

Life is what happens when you’re busy making other plans. I would be on the road if I wasn’t taking care of my grandmother who lives with us and has Alzheimer’s. Taking her on the road just won’t work. So we plan on building out our bus and then waiting until she passes on. Sounds weird to wait for someone to die. But we won’t take her on the road with us. As that would be so hard on her and us. She needs her own enclosed space. She gets lost when she leaves her room.
You will be blessed for putting those little girls first! So proud of you!

Anne Bell I have been taking care of my mom and dad for the last 10 yrs or so...they are both gone and I’m am feeling quite a loss and I have only been a care giver first as a mom then my parents. Have live a very sheltered life and I have always dreamed of seeing other places and hiking the Appalachian Trail. I am working on losing weight and trying to find a bus I like...the 28 foot bus is the perfect size. Wondering what they typically go for as I have not seen very many for sale, if you don’t mind me asking. Thanks!

You did the right thing. So, I have been on the fence about bus size. Had not heard of this mid size u speak of...must research as I don't think parking a large bus or taking it in certain spaces is best for me so TY for sharing your story. You never know when your comment can help someone else so share, share, share.

Rule #1 of driving a bus is to pre-trip check all equipment for your safety and the safety of all passengers. Therefore, keep your interior windows clean and clear inside and out, mirrors, tires inflated properly, brakes, all lights, etc, etc...just concerned with your safety boys.

    • @TheVoyagerProject
