- The McLaren 620R is the ultimate Sports Series car to come out of Woking. Effectively a road legal GT4 race car, the 620R is a track day special that you can drive to and from the circuit. My plans for a track day were hampered by Lockdown but I still managed to get in some essential shopping before heading on to some of my favourite locals roads to experience this sensational car. A huge thanks to McLaren for making this video possible.

What a fantastic review. Plus, I have to mention I think you have some of the best B-roll I have ever seen you include. The moving shots from behind an the way to the shop, the external views from side of road was all cut into the video masterfully, with never a hint of who was doing to shooting. So well done!! What an amazing car. I missed the vid and had to go and look for it. Spotted it behind the Audi. Haven't seen one of these in Australia yet. Another enjoyable video from you. But as usual, it reminds me of our time driving around the UK a few years ago. My wife made me stop so she could photograph a small section of blue sky. It is summer here now and in Queensland the soft top goes up at 9am and will not come down until 5pm.

What a stunning looking car and the sound from that exhaust especially on cold start in the barn was amazing. it's a hard life you lead Pete and I wander if the woman thought it was strange that you were fully suited up.

Seeing that car on the road on Sunday I have to say it looked stunning. That wing, the scoop & the graphics against that black paint made it really stand out. Sounded epic as well when you pulled along side. Was waiting to see if I made it into the video 😂. I love watching you drive around some of our local roads. We’re blessed to have some really good ones 👍🏾. No idea how you’ll top that car to drive but I’m definitely off to the farm shop 🤤

Well done Pete. That McLaren have delivered a car down to you to play with shows just how far you’ve come. Shame you could take it on a track (it’s a pretty compromised road car, as you admit). Start did make me chuckle. Let’s hope you can get one on the track once open season starts. That much horsepower just too much for HM highways to have fun.

I am so jealous, not the car as that goes without saying, no the fact it is 5 degrees with you. Up here in Scotland if we are above freezing in the afternoons its a miracle. No driving and no detailing for now just lockdown but soon I hope and spring is on its way.

I have driven quite a lot of your route on my many journeys to Gatwick in my private hire days. That 30 mph at 14.22 is ridiculous and a favourite indirect taxation hot spot.

Just like stockings and suspenders adds a frisson of disproportionate excitement to any bedroom encounter, the roof scoop totally amplifies the look of this car. 😜 Not sure about the orange pinstripe detailing however... a bit too Halfords meets Max Power for me... but as the saying goes, “ you don’t look at the mantlepiece when poking the fire”. 🤨

So big question for me is this now your favourite McLaren? I think they need to give you another one in the summer when hopefully things are a bit better so you can give it a proper test around the track at Goodwood.

Not sure if you would be able to make it happen but you could do a back to back with the 600 LT spider and the 620 are and what was quickest on the track and how big a gap there would be between a race focus car which is still road legal and a fast supercar. What do you think?

I just don't get why people like the sound of these things they just sound like my Dad's 1960's Cortina revving its nuts off? I often see one pass through the village where I live and it sounds like something being over revved and a very harsh sound. I like the look from the front but I really don't like the rear of the car, just not right somehow. I'd rather have an Aston or a Ferrari they sound decent.
Yes I think most people will agree... I’ve owned DB9, various 911’s and Ferraris ... and now have a 570 Spider and so I am qualified to comment. I’d tend to respond by saying just like Ducati engine are less sonorous than other bikes, the Macca has a similar “chainsaw chatter” sound. It’s just different but no less compelling chap...

Your channel is very good, but making lite of essential shopping is quite poor. Just the death rate of over 100,000. Maybe promote DO NOT leave the house unless it is Essential and this will be over quicker for everyone, and we can all get back out enjoying our cars and bikes.
This video was a bit of fun in dark times. All government guidelines were followed and promoted during its making. In times like these people need entertainment and I have a job to do, which I am allowed to continue to do by the way. Read the comments in this thread and you will see the positive impact this video has had on people.
In tough times our nation has a proud tradition of turning to humour to get us through. Please see this video for what it is, some light hearted entertainment 🤷♂️

Amazing car & the only thing mine has in common are the P Zero's which as you say, don't like cooler temperatures and need to warm up, otherwise they skip when on lock.

I can see you enjoyed it Peter but....is it a bit too track focussed to enjoy a great deal? When my Lottery winnings arrive on Monday I think it will be Porsche for a 911 Turbo S or GT3 RS and Mercedes for an AMG GTR ....they are just more “me”...see if you can land an AMG GT Black Series for sometime in the Summer...that would be interesting!! When I see those roads, many of which I know well, I feel sorry that Goodwood has been halted...every year since 1993 for me and will 2021 happen???.....I think it is unlikely really.
