- In this video you can see and hear the iconic 1979 BMW M1 ProCar in action on track! The beauty is powered by a 3.5 liter straight 6 engine which is able to produce 470bhp at 9000 rpm and 390Nm of torque at 7000 rpm. The sound it makes is amazing, so make sure you turn up your speakers!

woah.. 470bhp, from a NA 3.5liter engine?? that's about 130hp per liter, made in 1979! Nice!
not stock. stock is 270BHP for road car race cars were modded as you probably know :)

the turbocharged M1 cars made well over 800hp in qualifying tune. but the real soul and symphony is from these naturally aspirated M88s
those flames dont stop spitting out like the hot wheels game on mobile when you accelerate

"They wont" part doesn't surprise me but why couldn't they? I mean, they have teamed up with Mclaren to make engines so.
Because that was like close to 30 years ago. Technology was different, resources were scarce, saving money etc... Now BMW is run by people who sit at computers all day and know very little about cars.. Back in the 70-early 00's BMW was run by a team of engineers per say.. That is why it was the ultimate driving experience/machine.. now ///M badges on every model to sell,sell and wait 'more, SELL. they don't care about enthusiasts anymore. Sorry to side track but look at those cars E28 M5, E30 M3, E26 M1 no BS computers just pure driving. Now if we do see a super car it would be like a 900Hp one. No fun in that? Also because apparently there is no market they said. About the 8 series back in mid 00's as well as an actual M7. Their own words they said there is no market or very low market for those vehicles. If that is the case why slap a ///M badge on every model and why revive the 8 series so late in the game? They are trying to be like MB now..
The first signs of autumn came when BMW put the M badge on X6.

Why do they shoot flames so much?
These are racecars that are focused on performance rather than fuel efficiency. This means they use a richer air to fuel ratio. The sparkplugs can only burn that much fuel, so the rest spits out as flames from the compression.
