    What is the rear end gear ratio on that truck?

    • @ArmyProperty
      @ArmyProperty  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@MaineOutdoorsChannel thanks, we’ve got a 3.55 and it’s perfect for what we do. Our trailers usually top out at 16-18k, which doesn’t even begin to tax a 3.55 with the standard output 6.7

    When boost gets up into the 40’s or 50’s, thats a lot of boost. 16? Meh.

    Came just to watch the NJ highway. Grew up near rt80, not far from Delaware water gap lol! (Very cool vid on the interior, makes me want to upgrade my f150!)

    How you Like the truck so far n are you pleased with the purchase n how’s it on fuel ⛽️?

    • @ArmyProperty
      @ArmyProperty  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Couldn’t be happier. It’s actually really good on fuel. 18-20mpg unloaded, 10-12mpg with a 16k trailer hitched up.

    I’ve got a 2020 Platinum 450 and it pulls our 40’ 5thwheel RV that weighs right at 24k with ease . We have gone to Colorado and northern New Mexico and it handles the mountains very well.

    After waiting for F450 Limited for over 18 months, I made the u-turn and got 2023 Ram 3500 DRW Limited HO 6.7 Crew Cab - 8 ft bed with 4.1 gear.. It comes with Auto rear leveling. TPMS, much better cabin

    • @ArmyProperty

      They've both got stuff suspensions but the F-350 is more comfortable. The Ram 3500 rides like it's on the bump stops!!

    Is that the standard screen layout when towing? I have a '23 F350 Lariat Ult w/ 6.7 and have never seen that screen (but I haven't towed our trailer w it yet).

    • @ArmyProperty
      @ArmyProperty  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It takes a while to set it up. In order for the tach to go from a dial to a bar graph, you need to put the truck into tow-haul mode. Then do A LOT of digging around in the menus. It took a healthy amount of time to discover this layout, and there was no documentation that explained it.

      @@ArmyProperty Thanks! It did take some digging but I found it! Def like that view better when towing. Thanks!

    On my 19 350 with the exhaust brake on normal mode it will slow me down, just have to tap the brake to activate it. But once it’s activated it’ll slow me down without being on the brakes.

    • @ArmyProperty
      @ArmyProperty  ปีที่แล้ว

      We’ve been working hard to get ours to want to do that!!! Maybe it’s just spaced out.

      @@ArmyProperty now i will say I’ve heard the 10 speed makes it less noticeable but i haven’t gotten to drive one yet.

    • @ArmyProperty
      @ArmyProperty  ปีที่แล้ว

      @@wtwoffroad the 10-speed is nice. There's been a lot of talk going around about transmission failures at low miles (under 100k) with the 10-speed. I guess we'll find out. It feels very solid though. Shifts very smoothly.

    • @jeffclark4008
      @jeffclark4008 ปีที่แล้ว

      Same here. I have a 2019 F450 pulling a 20,800 lb Jayco Seismic toy hauler. We're just shy of 30K combined and the truck is awesome up and down hills. Tap the brake and the truck holds you at the speed you have been going. If I put it in cruise control, this truck will slow you down, even on steep grades. The '23's should be better, maybe something is not right on that truck.

    Do you ever use cruise control while towing?

    • @ArmyProperty
      @ArmyProperty  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Yes! The cruise was set on 65 for the first few minutes, going up and down the hills, then I cut it down when we got to the Delaware Water Gap. And adjusted it throughout the remainder of the video too. Works great.

      @@ArmyProperty I just picked up 2023 F350 SRW lariat to pull my race trailer, in large part due to your helpful and informative videos. I was wondering the same thing. I tow thru the mountains a lot and I'm wondering by what method the truck decelerates when using cruise while towing, going downhill in particular. I notice the engine/exhaust brake never activates when I'm in cruisecontrol even though the system is On. Is it putting unnecessary heat into the truck or trailer's brakes in that case?

  • @alex.w.kimani6921
    @alex.w.kimani6921 ปีที่แล้ว

    @ 23:50+ you talk about the lane centering as critical since the driver is doing a bunch of other things. What else would the driver be doing apart from driving? Get a driver if you want to sit back

    • @ArmyProperty
      @ArmyProperty  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Dude. Life is hard enough. Especially when you drive thousands of miles each week. The more the truck can help you do your job, the better.
