Dang, not often you'll find a Sonic list that consists of mainly the 3D titles. Gotta find a word that means both "crazy" and "brave"... I think "honest" might just be the one.
I've come to make an announcement, the sonic fanbase is a bitch ass motherfucker. They pissed on my fucking gaming franchise. That's right, they took their shitty opinions out and said the game was "this" bad and I said that's fucking dumb
That's the thing. Sonic Forces isn't a bad game. It just had the overwhelming task of coming off the expectations Sonic Mania set just a couple months prior to its release.
They said that the vast cries of "REEEEEEEEEE" could be heard for days across the entire planet. Seriously though, so many people call sonic games bad without stating why or just overly criticize them just to hop on the bandwagon and it's pathetic.
theboy 2 Okay, seriously, you need to grow the hell up. So, not everyone hates on Sonic just for the sake of hating on Sonic. But if you want a textbook example of how doing so attracts all sorts of attention (for better or worse), look at those two people from IGN who said Sonic was never good. What makes this worse aside from the fact that they work for a “professional” criticism platform is that sometime after that, those same people were showing excitement for Sonic Mania as if they never made their previous statement at all! If that does not show how popular it is to hate on Sonic just for the sake of it, I don’t know what will. I get that not everyone hates on Sonic just because. But to jump down someone’s throat about it in the manner you did just shows how laughably childish you are.
sonic 06 is bad becuase so many glitches and a mediocre story but i love those glitches and am okay with the story its just fun to see the bugs plus the bad gameplay makes the stages somewhat challenging which i dont feel in a lot of the newer sonic games
@@theboy2385 dude people literally rave on and on about how all sonic games are broken and bad, just because somebody else told them. they see a literal screenshot of an upcoming game and conclude its a disaster. i can tell when they havent played the games, and as such i dismiss their "opinions". ill start listening when people like you have actual opinions. until then sit the fuck down
Honestly, I feel sad that the Werehog was only in Unleashed. Can you imagine it in some other games? You know... maybe as a bonus character in some night-based beat-em-up games?
I LITERALLY CRIED AT SONIC UNLEASHED SEGMENT I LOVE THIS GAME!!!!!!! It's my all time favorite Sonic game and for good reason I fucking love you Logan for making my favorite Sonic game known and as special as it is for me and for you loving it just as much as I do thank you
Absolutely agreed. This is exactly why Sonic Unleashed deserved (and still deserves) much better than most 3D Sonic games in the world (I don’t wanna spoil, but in the description of *The Ultimate Daredevil Reviews - Sonic Unleashed, I could have the description say “For the first decade of its existence, the launch title Sonic Adventure was as good as a 3D mainline Sonic game could be. But what could take the title as “Greatest Mainline Post-Classic Era Sonic Game”?? Why, it’s...*).
@craZ guy So what did you like about Sonic Unleashed that makes you at least partially enjoy it?? One of them is definitely the speed-based stages for showing Sonic the Hedgehog that he could take his supersonic speed to a whole new level.
craZ guy I get that but unleashed was my first Sonic game I've ever beat on my own and I watched TH-camrs play it and I loved watching those videos and it's what pushed me to be a Sonic fan in the first place so I owe everything to unleashed I love the day stages, the werehog is an interesting concept and the music is unbelievably good
@craZ guy That's good to look on the bright side of this video game like that! Because both the Werehog stages and Sonic stages have something unique to offer even if one gameplay style was more professionally executed than the other, which in this case, is that the daytime stages have amazing intentions like Sonic going way faster than a vehicle (eat your heart out, Chick Hicks!) and level design that is highly focused on having a lot of depth for how linear (I don't mean it as a bad thing since this isn't Sonic Adventure so it wasn't meant to be an open-world alternative. Both tried to be their own game) it intentionally was, which even if some Werehog stages could be frustrating, it can be forgiven because it has the idea of exploration but to great use as an open-world game. Heck, I couldn't even take the Werehog stages being long as a bad thing because it added a lot of powerful size to the game. It did depend on the stage though because yeah, some were a bit too long.
40% of the comments - "Why is Shadow the Hedgehog and Sonic Forces on here?!" 40% of the comments - "Why is Sonic Lost World above Sonic Generations?!" 15% of the comments - People enjoying the video/defending Fawful's Minion. 4% of the comments - People achnowledging how he's been getting videos out lately 0.5% of the comments - Blessed or Messed "insert sonic game here" The rest of the 0.5% - This comment. If I had to do a top 10 of my own... well, I'd stick Sonic Heroes at #1 because that's the only game I really played. Good list, even if it's super divisive... just the way I expect a Fawful's Minion countdown to go and that's how I like it.
I love how unique this list is!! He only puts one classic game on the list. And having Shadow the Hedgehog on it is very ballsy. But I love how unique your opinion is and seeing your defenses for these games. That’s what makes me love your lists.
That’s what makes me entitle myself to preferring other lists of best and worst Sonic games because if there were nearly as much 2D and 3D Sonic games on this list, it would give it more diversity and justice to the ones that were kicked off the (former) list of Top 10 Sonic Games by Fawful’s Minion like Sonic Advance, Sonic 3 & Knuckles and ones that have never been put on either list like Sonic Advance 3, Sonic Rush and the Sonic Boom 3DS games.
@@kieranstark7213 It’s one thing to have an opinion and disagree with something. But it’s just unreasonable to expect every top 10 Sonic games list to be the same as yours.
It depends on the Modern Sonic game. But it is sad that people overpraise Modern Sonic games like Sonic Lost World, Sonic and the Secret Rings, Sonic Forces, Sonic Free Riders, Sonic '06, Sonic Chronicles and more. I'm more of a Classic Sonic fan than a Modern Sonic fan, and if only that side were more common.
@@kieranstark7213 Really, because all I see are people hating on modern Sonic while praising the classics to high hell. No offense, but it seems like your nostalgia blind. By the way, all of those games (with the exception of 06, Free Riders for controls, and maybe Chronicles) are in my opinion good games.
Well, here I am defending pre-2010s Sonic the Hedgehog over post-half-one-of-the-2000s Sonic the Hedgehog, yet keeping myself optimistic for Sonic the Hedgehog franchise that it would be consistently great in the 2020s. Including when I make my Sonic the Hedgehog super NC-17 comedy movie!!! XD
@@chickenflavor9880 it's fine to not like SA2 but saying it's overrated just isn't true anymore since most people and reviewers now give it negative opinions
@@jackg-or4ic DMC levels also last for 30 minutes and GOW levels can last for an hour. I think people complain that the werehog level are too long because in comparison to the hedgehog levels (which last for about 3 minutes) they are too long. I was never bothered by them.
We are honestly sick of people that disrespect negative opinions on Sonic Lost World and other Sonic games like Sonic Free Riders, Sonic Forces, Sonic Lost World (both versions, *especially* the 3DS version since the Wii U version was at least playable with a great yet not first-rate presentation, to five it credit where credit is due), Sega Pico Sonic games, Sonic Drift duology, Sonic Boom: Rise of Lyric, Tails' Skypatrol (it's a great idea for Tails to have his own game more than once, but because Tails' Adventure is made eith a lot more polish and effort, it deserves much better than the rest of those games), the Sonic Storybook duology, Sonic Chronicles, Shadow the Hedgehog and Sonic Next-Gen. I respect if people find at least some of the games to be overhated, but to tell them that they can't not like all those games is not at all a good thing to do. Too bad a lot of people even do it. I'm sorry if this gave you a hard time, but people might have valid complaints towards this game. I'm just letting you know that even if you like those games, y'all could at least go "Oh, I get it now! 😁" instead of "Finally! It's refreshing to hear a positive opinion on *insert something that is legitamately below good here*! I hate that people dislike those video games.", which should either be poorly liked or just not even existent.
@@kieranstark7213 mate, im not saying that people can't not like the games, they all have flaws, including Lost World, but people hate on the games for "Not being Sonic" instead of looking at it critically and seeing that the games(with quite a few exceptions ) are good on their own merits. If someone doesn't like lost world, thats fine, but i see way to many people hate on it just because its different instead of it being a legitimately bad game, but because it was actually decent, i guess thats all they had to hate on without ever actually playing the game
@@GracieJello That comment was constructively and highly fair until the end because what if they actually played the game?! By that, I mean as in there are people like Billiam and AntDude who did played this game before they could wholeheartedly have an opinion on it, and they found out that it was pretty much average at best after actually playing it. I'm sure they tried at least tried to find good things about it instead of became close-minded as possible to literally hate everything about it as much as possible, like mariotehplumber. *likes your comment*
@@kieranstark7213 i guess it wasn't exactly worded right, i don't mean *everyone* hates the game blindly just because it's different, i am aware of people like AntDude who have played the game and were legitimately not interested in it, actually, i personally liked AntDudes review on Lost World, even if he didn't like the game. Im trying to word this as best as possible, but many people(within the Sonic Community specifically, not as much outside of it from what I've seen, though do take what i say with a grain of salt) who saw Lost World and just hated on it without giving it a legitimate chance, but instead, just seeing that it doesn't play like any of the established formulas(Adventure, Boost, etc.) and decided "this games probably sucks, it looks way to different." or something of the sorts.
IKR! The only people who even bothered to review the HD version of this game favourably are Coop, CGR Undertow and TheRetroReplay! Sadly, most people argue that Sonic Unleashed has gameplay that is unpolished and hasn’t mixed quality at most. Like IGN, AntDude, ExoParadigmGamer, Irategamer, Billiam and more.
@@kieranstark7213 Exo's review is the best of them all. Finally someone who not only acknowledges Unleashed Wii and doesn't call the HD version just "Unleashed" but actually prefers it.
Welp, if he intentionally went "The new ones are clearly better!! >:O", "Sonic Lost World deserved better.", and "How dare you say it (Sonic Forces"'s bad!" then we will not at all be happy!!!!
I don't hate Sonic Lost World, but when Fawful's Minion said great things about it, I said to myself why it was just so pointless for this list to be remade. Because Sonic Lost World is only average, but much more underwhelming than great.
@@kieranstark7213 Dude, people are allowed to have different opinions on games. Not everybody is going to view Lost World the same way you do, and there’s nothing wrong with that.
Any jab at people who didn’t like this game (especially because of the Deadly Six members like the one-dimensionally boorish Zavok, The prissy Zeena, the Twilight-sequel emo Zor, the judgemental Master Zik and more) is so uncalled for,. I’m sure the opinion disrespecting is meant to be taken as a joke, but the fact that people actually attack Billiam and AntDude because they have problems with this game is far more invalid, overhyped and close-minded than their reviews. I like the “Not all superheroes wear capes” bit (this is one of the many reasons why we are all die-hard fans of the original. Because it poked fun at superhero cliches like the villain monologue game while ya sequel was ruined by the villain actually monologuing to make Incredibles 2 feel more like a cliched superhero story than anything like it’s predecessor.), but then again, Sonic has almost (more than always since in the early 2010s, there were a few moments where they did make Sonic the Hedgehog pretty mean-spirited like in Sonic Colors, Archie Sonic and even Sonic Lost World, which unfortunately, people are called out for giving a good-but-flawed B- at the very best) always been a superhero without a cape.

Yeah, this video is far more interestingly made than the list itself. If only Sonic 3 & Knuckles, Sonic Advance (trilogy), and Sonic Triple Trouble took the spots of Shadow the Hedgehog, Sonic Forces and Sonic Lost World which the worst part the Sonic fandom would force us to to praise over Sonic Unleashed and Sonic Mania (the choices that indeed deserve to make this list. I'm glad to see black knight on your list. I was one if my favorite games as a kid. I see why people don't like it but it is a fun game with interesting mechanics.
Swordlink96 I can see why people don’t like it (that said, I don’t get how people get tired from swinging the Wii remote. I could play that game for hours as a kid without getting tired). What I don’t get, however, is how people can possibly think Secret Rings is a better game in any way (I’m looking at you WatchMojo!!!!! What do you mean Black Knight is a dishonorable mention when Secret Rings isn’t even on the list?!?!?! Just no!!!)
@@Mojo1356 i think that all pf the sonic game besides the broken ones are good or even great game. Riders, advance, so on. But 06, boom and secret rings are broken and just hard to play.
I thought I would make my own list. I then added descriptions, which made it rather long... 10. Sonic & The Black Knight. I'll admit that this game was everything my teenage self, who loved little more than running and sword fighting, could ever want in a video game. The sad part is that the running and sword parts clashed regularly. The level design is not very well implemented, especially in how sonic cannot backtrack and no level can be explored, just ran through it one way. YET, the style and story of the game was at its best for the premise at work. I still find myself reflecting on the story, particularly the "every world must have its end" message near the end. The final conflict was great from not only a visual, boss, or music design perspective, but also as a thoughtful one, far deeper than expected from Sonic, particularly an Arthurian one where a character was named "Merlina" and not some take on "Morgan Le Fay." 9. Sonic Adventure 2. Weirdly, I like it, but not love it. I objectively see how it is a fantastic game, but subjectively... "It's pretty good." I really enjoyed my time playing it, but I would like to leave it at one playthrough. It has one of the few really good stories in the series, handling both the absurd and dark elements very well, but I was not really invested. The gameplay is similar, as the modes and level design are simply not my style. I still really enjoyed playing it, but I put it down and moved on. Perhaps I should go back to it some time. 8. Sonic '06. The biggest guilty pleasure of mine, and the only game I love dearly ironically AND unironically. In any other case, I didn't even know how that was possible! This is the polar opposite of my opinions of SA2. Everything conventionally bad that everyone has heard all over the internet, for some reason, all clicks to make a great experience for me. I rapidly switch from laughing at the glitches to being legitimately engaged with the level design. I go from gawking at the nonsensical story, yet I still find myself caring about what happens. Perhaps I just like all the let's play and reaction videos too much and it bled into enjoyment of the game itself. I just can't help but think positively about it, though. The negative qualities obviously do make it a bad game by definition, but this one manages to snag a place in my heart. I'd actually go as far to say that my enjoyment of it was what clue me in that I was a full fan of the series rather than someone who just enjoyed a game or two. 7. Sonic 2. The game I play on rainy days, when I want something nice, sweet, and simple. I have probably played this game through more than any other, no doubt because of its short, easy nature. It is ultimately like the video game equivalent of comfort food; you can have it over and over again, but it satisfies you like the very first time. The only other games that do that for me are the Mega Man NES games and Shovel Knight. 6. Sonic Colors. I remember voting this as my #1 back when the polling occurred. What happened? Not much. I still highly enjoy the game, with its exploration, visual design, and even some of its humor (Dr. Eggman's voice announcements really sell the experience for me). There is one very bad element that brings the whole thing down from #1, and has been bringing 3D games in the franchise down since; the story. The story was highly lacking in presentation, as it took a very middle of the road stance between "excuse plot" and "making you care about the events rather than just the levels." It honestly would have been a great story if Eggman was completely honest in reforming and the seemingly friendly, colorful wisps were actually the bad guys under the control of a greater evil that the doctor was trying to stop (and further make into a new, free energy source for the world as a win-win). Instead, we get a story on the level of most Saturday morning cartoons, sure, but is _overly_ self aware to the point of losing the humor it did have. It just looses any good energy/emotions it does have. A shame, too, as the rest of the game is great!
5. Sonic Generations. So we take Sonic Color's great gameplay, refined from Unleashed. _Go on..._ Then we remake the best levels from each of the 9 games before. _Ah, huh..._ Don't forget the variety of extra missions to complete, several per level. _...Right, OK..._ Plus 3 Bosses and 3 Rivals. _Yes..._ Then we add in a 3D modeled Classic Sonic in 2D gameplay. _YES!_ Then we remix each already fantastic level theme twice each, true to each style, but include in option to swap it for new remixes. _Music to my ears!_ And then finish of with a bare-bones, lackluster story that leads to a bland final boss involving every character expressing the obvious in a highly repetitive manner! _Oh..._ From a strict, level-design perspective, this is fantastic. However, the low scope and story put it under #4. This is even more minimal effort, humorless, and overly self-aware than Colors (it only got worse from there, which is why the next two are not on the list at all, as the gameplay then started to suffer as well). It really would have been better if they tried nothing at all and loaded credits after the Egg Dragoon. Good thing you can skip cutscenes in all of these games. 4. Sonic Unleashed. Sure, Colors and Generations "refined" the speed sections... but not by much! This is 3D Sonic at its best, ZOOMING by land fixtures around the world! Not "Grassland, Desert, Forest, Jungle, Ice-world, Fire-world, Boss" (varied up as those might be in Sonic games), but "Greece, Africa, England, China, New York, The Middle-East, Antarctica, Cambodia, and Disneyland... from Hell!" The scope of the whole thing is MASSIVE! The detail is incredible! The daytime stages alone have more content than any game from the rest of the series. As for the nighttime stages, I am surprised that they, though long, are not boring. They are a nice breather after the daytime, like waiting for a rollercoaster. Too much at once and you will exhaust yourself, but pacing it out causes a nice... _change of pace~!_ Lastly, this might be the last great story in Sonic. The scope of the stakes and the whole setting is very well established in perhaps the best introductory cut-scene in the whole series. As Logan put it last time, there is a great friendship that develops between Sonic and Chip (who, despite heavily resembling Scrappy-Doo, manages to not be annoying) that makes the inevitable ending very sad. Dr. Eggman manages to establish himself as a global threat, only being punted aside when his biggest robot suit is destroyed and the Eldritch Abomination he harnessed takes full form. I found such a wonderful irony in the Egg Dragoon being specifically designed for normal Sonic, only to be thoroughly trashed by the powerful monster Dr. Eggman accidentally created (which also creates a great setup for Generations and an awful disappointment in Forces). I have very little negatively to say about the game overall, other than that there is just too much game; I only beat it twice due to how much content there is to play. Then there are DLC levels on top of that! 3. Sonic 3 & Knuckles. Sure, Unleashed was larger and had settings across the globe. Sure, it as fancy and 3D. SURE, it had a nice story and a lovely style. Yet, that requires many sittings and returns; this is a huge, full experience that just requires one day to play. Any one day can be instantly made into a grand ol' time by pressing start and getting right to beating levels. This is a whole experience that, unlike most of the 2D entries, feels like a journey rather than simple levels. Each locale has multiple variants and massive changes. Detail is everywhere; The pixel art is phenomenal. There are so many paths and ways to play, so many opportunities for emeralds _and_ their super variants. While Sonic 2 is what I would play on a rainy day, this is what I would play when it's a full day of storms on the horizon. As a note, I tend to only play 3&K together, as they were meant that way. Separately, they would tumble down the list to below Colors, but united they stand tall! 2. Sonic CD. Ok, there is attention to detail, there are changes to locations, then there is THIS. There are vast, explorable levels with unique design motifs. Every single level has four variants with many changes in level design. There are two separate ways to not only get a good ending, but change the levels' futures! You feel like you are making an active impression on the world MID-game! While this may be "only" #2, this game has the best background detail of any game I ever saw. The one negative is how the bosses are... quirky rather than challenging. I think that is part of the idea, as they are perhaps trick-and-pony shows, as defeating Dr. Robotnik requires more than beating up his mechas at the end. There is establishing a villain as a threat, then there is showing in lovely detail how dirty, awful, and dystopian the world would be if they WON (in contrast to a bright, white, clean city). Lastly, this game managed to change my opinions of art and design. Beforehand, I loved technology to the exclusion of all else, designing with cogs, metal, and smoke (in other words, the "Bad Futures") in anything I made. After seeing the Good Futures, my favorite aesthetic has since become the harmonious union of Technology and Nature. This love permeates into how I decorate my room and even how I design interfaces. What could beat a title I found so beautiful it changed my preferences of art? 1. Sonic Mania. Here I thought Generations was fan-service done right. It was, but turns out it could be done even BETTER. Despite growing up with all of the styles at once, I found myself naturally preferring the classics to the Dreamcast and Boost games. I admit that the classics have plenty of flaws. This manages to, in a Shovel Knight kind of way, play as one would idealize and remember the classics, rather than how they actually played. While 4, Generations, and the other Boost games approximated the classic feel, this NAILED it! My one complaint is that levels are, unfortunately, reused. Highly improved above their originals, but reused nonetheless. The new levels perfectly captured the feeling and aesthetic of the genesis ones, so I certainly hope I see more of this. Lastly, I must admit that I am biased on my final preference. The fact that a large, corporate entity in the video game field would take developers of fan-games of their media and give them the rights to make their own take on the series? THAT is nothing short of incredible, even without the context of willfully deaf video game companies we deal with today. Sonic Mania is a success story from start to finish.
Ya know, it's videos like this that make me appreciate people who would say they love Sonic games or would call themselves Sonic fans AND GENUINELY MEAN IT. Aside from fan animations & games, I rarely look up or watch videos related to the Blue Blur nowadays. Especially review type videos or LPs of certain games. The main reason being that a lot of the time it just seems like an excuse to rag on the character, the franchise, or the games that, in my opinion, aren't as bad as they make them out to be. Don't get me wrong, some of the games aren't genuinely great and not all reviews/LPs are hateful & can actually make good points, but a lot of them tend to follow that common trend, so I rarely look for them or watch the ones that show up in my feed anymore. So for me to watch a video like this and to actually enjoy it, says a lot about both me and this video. Honestly, I think that the best people to talk to about Sonic nowadays are the ones that would truly consider themselves Sonic fans. I know that sounds crazy, but I truly believe that, because at least they can talk positively about the Blue Blur for more than five minutes. And also sing praise about the games that aren't just the classic styled ones. Heck, I feel like most actual Sonic fans are taking the info released about the movie BETTER than the people who wouldn't really consider themselves Sonic fans. Not all of them, mind you, but most of the ones I've seen. Although, this is just my opinion and maybe I haven't seen the so-called "Really Bad" fans yet. Sorry for the rant but I just wanted to get that off my chest. Another awesome video Logan, keep on keeping on dude.
@@theutubepower1243 I'm more so talking about how... mixed opinions on Colors have been in retrospect. So much so that I swear there are some people who get offended when someone brings up the notion that it could possibly be good.
Ok I love your honesty on this list personally some of these make my list and some don’t I appreciate a fan of the series who sees some of these games for what they are instead of just judging based on appearance. In particular is definitely Sonic Unleashed I absolutely adored that game so much and really hated the treatment it got though nowadays I see more people actually enjoy the game it still sucks to see it get such a hate hate treatment. Even still Yhis was a really cool video to watch and I loved your honest opinions over it. Thanks Fawfuls minion.
Um, he never said that these picks came from his Patreon. When he spoke of a top 10 Sonic games list that was determined by a poll, he was referring to a list he made several years before this one.
Lost world sucks, the controls are janky, levels are boring, bosses is just run and get the wisp, and it is WAY TOO SLOW Im talking about the 3ds version. The wiiu version is great.
Yes, someone who said that all about Sonic Lost World (I mean the 3DS version, because while I don't particularly like the Wii U version, I can't say it's bad either because while it tried way more to be a Nintendo game than a game of its own franchise, the level design could sometimes instead of always be quite complex.
I have been waiting for someone to speak fondly about Unleashed for so long! I love the night levels! I just need to collect the right amount of metals to finish it.
Fantastic list! I pretty much have the same top 10 but in a different order! Shadow the Hedgehog is a guilty pleasure honorable mention. 10. Sonic the Hedgehog 2 9. Sonic Heroes 8. Sonic Forces 7. Sonic Lost World 6. Sonic Adventure 5. Sonic Generations 4. Sonic Colors 3. Sonic Mania 2. Sonic Adventure 2 1. Sonic Unleashed
I like (almost) every Sonic game equally, kinda hard to rank them in my opinion. (Sonic 06, Sonic Boom: Rise Of Lyric, Shadow The Hedgehog, and a few more I can’t think of are the games I don’t really like)
Personal top 10 - 10 - Sonic Chronicles 9 - Sonic 3 & Knuckles (& Knuckles... & Knuckles...) 8 - Sonic & the Secret Rings 7 - Sonic Adventure 6 - Sonic Forces 5 - Sonic Mania 4 - Sonic Colours 3 - Sonic Rush 2 - Sonic 06 1 - Sonic Heroes
I don't see why so many people think that this is a joke list. A lot of the games on the list are just misunderstood by most people. The aren't bad games, just not for the general audience. UNLEASHED, LOST WORLD, AND FORCES HYPE!
On the Forces and Lost World entries, all I can say is FUCKING THANK YOU! The amount of shit those games get is just way too fucking much. They are flawed yes, but they are nowhere near what I would say is a general bad quality. They are both solid Sonic games constantly being unfairly compared to the games immediately before them instead of as their own, and when they are treated as their own people still like making up bullshit reasons to say they are bad. This was a great list Logan, I can't wait to see the next thing you got for us.
By the way my top 10: 10: Sonic and the Secret Rings 9: Shadow the Hedgehog 8: Sonic Lost World 7: Sonic Forces 6: Sonic Generations 5: Sonic Adventure 2 4: Sonic Colors 3: Sonic Mania 2: Sonic and the Black Knight 1: Sonic Unleashed
Your list is a lot like Fawful's Minion's. They all have the same exact entries and lack of entries (some that shouldn't have been, which is why it's always wise to have hinorable mentions if there are more than a quarter-hundred installments).
I'm so happy to see Lost World on this list! I especially love the characters it introduced. Zor is my favorite purely because he's so smol and has all my favorite colors as his whole colorscheme.
You better not be angry just because I have valid reasons to not be a fan of that game or Forces. Nothing wrong with respecting opinions. With that said, I respect that you like Lost World, as long as you respect my criticisms towards this game that makes me with it were *so* much better like Unleashed, Adventure 1 & 2 (Dreamcast) and Mania.
@@kieranstark7213 I don’t see anything in the original post that implies this person is angry about the criticism Lost World gets. I swear, you act like any and all praise of that game is a personal attack on you.

More like “not enough criticism and too well-known”. Fawful’s Minion’s old list of Sonic games is superior because it actually has Sonic 3 & Knuckles, at least one Sonic Advance game and Sonic 2 while the unexpectedly remade list had Sonic Lost Word, Sonic Forces and STILL Shadow the Hedgehog, that gave much more salty defenders. But both lists have great qualities. Like Fawful’s Minion’s comedic, intense way of speaking.
Despite some of the snarky jokes that i personally didn't care for (noticeably the Wrist cutting joke and linkin park jokes When talking about Shadow the hedgehog, the Bleach joke during the Adventure 1 Segment, yet Another joke about the kiss scene about 06, and especially the whole "fans don't know what they want" schpiel that gets brought up time and time again whenever the fandom gets criticized) i enjoyed this list and it definitely sounds like you were having a very good time making this list.

What makes this worse aside from the fact that they work for a “professional” criticism platform is that sometime after that, those same people were showing excitement for Sonic Mania as if they never made their previous statement at all!
Kieran Stark yes

Every Sonic game is objectively good.

there not a single 2d game in my top ten favorite sonic games its entirely 3d games
@@kieranstark7213 Well in my opinion, the classic games do in fact get way more praise than they deserve (especially Sonic CD).
Proof? (Just curious. I don’t think 2D Sonic games, even the best ones which I acclaim as phenomenal or beyond (Sonic 3 & Knuckles and Sonic Advance 3) are flawless. But then again, nothing is.)
@@kieranstark7213 After hearing how much praise the classic games had gotten over the years, I was very excited to play them myself. But as I actually played them for the first time, that excitement turned into unbridled rage faster than I ever could’ve imagined. I can get through them totally fine nowadays, but the stigma I gained against them has never truly gone away. Also, when someone lamented that Mania perpetuates the idea to many people that Sonic hasn’t had a single good game since 1994, a somewhat prominent classic Sonic fan, The Game Apologist, replied with the following: “Eh, us old-school fans can get annoying. While I respectfully disagree with about half of the entries AND your point about Metal Sonic being the "apex of Sonic villainy", I am obligated to love this video in honor of Shadow the Hedgehog, Sonic Heroes, Sonic Adventures 1 & 2, and Sonic Unleashed.
@@jdawson7877 while I’ll agree on Black Knight being underrated, Secret Rings just fucking sucks.
Thank you Minion THANK YOU for giving light to the underdog games
I thought I would make my own list. I then added descriptions, which made it rather long...
10. Sonic & The Black Knight.
I'll admit that this game was everything my teenage self, who loved little more than running and sword fighting, could ever want in a video game. The sad part is that the running and sword parts clashed regularly. The level design is not very well implemented, especially in how sonic cannot backtrack and no level can be explored, just ran through it one way. YET, the style and story of the game was at its best for the premise at work. I still find myself reflecting on the story, particularly the "every world must have its end" message near the end. The final conflict was great from not only a visual, boss, or music design perspective, but also as a thoughtful one, far deeper than expected from Sonic, particularly an Arthurian one where a character was named "Merlina" and not some take on "Morgan Le Fay."
_Oh..._
From a strict, level-design perspective, this is fantastic.

I don't see why so many people think that this is a joke list. A lot of the games on the list are just misunderstood by most people. The aren't bad games, just not for the general audience. UNLEASHED, LOST WORLD, AND FORCES HYPE!
Preach.
Sonic the hedgehog + Fawful's Minion = Best Moments of my life!!!
By the way my top 10:
10: Sonic and the Secret Rings
9: Shadow the Hedgehog
8: Sonic Lost World
7: Sonic Forces
6: Sonic Generations
5: Sonic Adventure 2
4: Sonic Colors
3: Sonic Mania
2: Sonic and the Black Knight
1: Sonic Unleashed
Your list is a lot like Fawful's Minion's. They all have the same exact entries and lack of entries (some that shouldn't have been, which is why it's always wise to have hinorable mentions if there are more than a quarter-hundred installments).
@@kieranstark7213 It’s just their opinions. Calm down, bro.
Super happy to see some love directed toward Lost World! If there were ever a Sonic game that didn't deserve the hate, it was that one!
Agreed!
Thank you for your opinions so much Sonic is my FAVORITE video game series I like literally every Sonic game made by Sonic Team and im so happy you put Forces and Lost World on hear and I really appreciate every good thing you said about Heroes all in all THANK YOU.
It's always good to see the Sonic games that don't get much love get some attention and praise. Great list Logan
@@kieranstark7213 He’s literally just giving his opinions. Calm the hell down.
Finally, someone else who likes Shadow the Hedgehog
This was the first video I ever watched from you back in the day. So happy that it’s been remastered
