The sound system and sentry mode on the Tesla are too amazing, couldn't live without them. And the power, performance, charging network, video games, autopilot, and literally being the safest car on the planet , it's the Y for me.
@@lukabosnjak3829 Most modern high end cars today are as safe if not safer than Tesla. Tesla Autopilot is one of driving assistance system associated with most crash in the US among 2 autonomous system.
I wish I could afford either. I do wish a car manufacturer would build a stripped down electric car. I'm not bothered about screens in the cockpit or designer textured dash boards, I just want an electric car with enough room for my family and a decent range.
I work with OEMs, they can't outside of China. Batteries and motors are expensive so they need to absorb the cost of them in the profit margins of premium/luxury cars, they wouldn't make profit on a back to basics EV.
The only thing that puts me off is the network, the buzz has dreadful range, making the network even more important... If you are a 95% short drive family I'd say go for it, but if you travel 160+ miles it does get tricky, not impossibly tricky but its worth a consideration. The other day we had my friends Tycan and we had to hunt for a working charger with 1% battery remaining it felt scary.
1% battery in an EV is not exactly the same thing as 1% on a smartphone You can go a legitimately long distance on 5% battery charge in an EV. Whatever EV it is.
i have a buzz for commerical work and range is not a single issue. only people that never driven a proper EV complain about range or simply refuse to learn proper charging etiquette.
I think Range play a part to new EV owners.. Its a big bus, consumption is high compared to the rest, thus it costs more to run. We have an Id3 and a Tesla, we always take the Tesla when we go on long trips/ abroad, as its hassle free, and while I drive both, the standard network just needs more planning, while the Tesla does not.
That Buzz looks more like a Playmobil toy than the actual Playmobil VW Van toy I had as a kid... And you can get a Model Y RWD with still more range and power than the Buzz for an even bigger €20k saving. It's amazing how much space that has for just €50k.
V.W just didn’t do well enough with the MEB platform, the efficiency of platform just wasn’t up to snuff three years ago when the platform was launched. They are still all at sea with the software and have spent billions attempting a fix which just hasn’t quite worked out. Better luck next time V.W, if you avoid bankruptcy that is…….
Great point, I think people in general have zero clue, as to how far behind especially VW is on the EV front, and this review is useless, as they don´t actually review much about these vehicles (technically) , no charge curves, infrastructure, degradation, efficicency in cold/varm temps. ans so on....
1 year on & a bit of haggling. The commerce plus made more sense. DIY conversion in progress. Bought one of the first delivered with only 4k on the clock. Very pleased with the van. As a camler & mobile storage, workshop it is ideal. When I fit the pop up tent on the roof I will probably be sleeping in it @ home also. Such a nice looking thing to be in. Comfortable & roomy. Sound system, lcd screens, fridge in the back. Open the rear hatch & side doors. Lights on party in the driveway. Sleepover in the roof tent. I absolutely love it. Charge over night @ home. Caml site hook up & pitch. Then off the following morning. Trip to Cornwall was a hoot. Cars flashed & waved. People spoke to me in the car parks. Never got that in most other cars I have had. Got used to operations OK. Can't see what the moans are about personally. I have bought an emergency spare & jack kit. Solar battery charger & off grid battery & inverter fo camping. The buzz does come with a 300w inverter but Mine powers an air friar. The 12v system is good for the fridge though. Terry.
You don't mention the amazing capability of the Model Y to switch from RHD to LHD... and change its number plates from UK to NL and back! (13:40, etc.)
Yes, apart from: Range Efficiency Performance Depreciation Software Infotainment Charging Network Sentry Mode Fart Mode The Buzz is great. OK, I wish the Y had an ice scraper!
although you've also got against the model Y: - boring - dull - no character - stiff ride - more oppressive in the back seats - weird shaped and narrow boot vs the lovely square/wider/taller Buzz boot - costs £482 a month to lease (vs £400 a Buzz currently) - world's most annoying door handles - did I say boring? generic? - how many people need to drive 170 miles without stopping multiple times every winter? Think I can live with a shorter range and slower speed and save £1k a year Buzz was Whatcar car of the year 2023 - can't be all that bad! Just saying it's not all black and white ;)
In fact you I'd argue Model Y isn't a comparable car to the Buzz- it should be compared against Lexus LM (a bargain in comparison to that one :D) Peugeot Rifter, Vauxhall Vivaro etc (which are a lot cheaper, but smaller ranges, and basic/boring). Comparing the Buzz (which weighs 2.5 tonnes) vs the Y (which weights 1.9 tonnes) is not really comparable, you're getting a lot more car (and naturally due to laws of physics) less range. Price per KG? Tesla model Y £46k/1900kg = £24 per KG. Buzz £59k/2490kg = £23.99. identical price per KG. You're just getting a lot more car for your money. Besides which leasing a pre reg buzz (as specced above with battery above) is cheaper per month anyways
This is an odd comparison and really only highlights the lack of EV models (this is changing quickly though!). Objectively the Y wins hands down for many more reasons than listed here. But if you want a van and not an SUV then that just doesn't matter. The Y was designed to appeal to the widest possible audience, whereas the Buzz is more of a niche vehicle like the Mini, which I'm sure will be reflected in the sales numbers (the Y is pretty much set to be the #1 selling vehicle in the world next year, and I doubt the Buzz will sell 1/20th the number of cars). The Y will also likely be coming down in price, widening the price gap. It's already pretty silly that the Y is such a better vehicle for less money than the Buzz.
A not so known factoid: Tesla has reworked the Y’s suspension 30 times since launch in 2020. Meaning, yes, the earlier builds do indeed ride too stiff, but the 2022 and especially now the latest ones, ride noticeably nicer, while still handling just as well. I am not sure if they also reworked the model 3 as such of as much, but probably.
If they have *really* reworked the suspension more than 30 times, they need to try again. My Model Y LR was delivered in Dec ‘22 and ride quality is terrible - harsh, noisy, uncomfortable. By contrast, my June ‘21 Model 3 LR is MUCH more comfortable, as well as handling better. If I was being generous, I’d score current Model Y ride quality at 3 out of 10. That’s appalling for a vehicle costing over £60k (US$80k equivalent)
I had a crew van before. looked at both VW ID, bus and model Y, I picked the model Y. Added a tow hook option, 4x carrier and trailer. I can carry more now than I could with the van. I don't think I could fit a bike in the ID buzz.
It’s a really odd test comparing a van to a car. Different needs and a different customer base. Both are great, both are not comparable with each other.
In that respect yes, but they will be cross shopped in a market for those looking for 7 seats and electric mobility - or more likely half the marketplace for these cars would be for image and credibility, that makes the Buzz and Model Y cross-shop competitors of BMWs, Audi's, etc.
@@toyotaprius79 Outside of the EV space I’ve never known a VW Transporter people van to be compared with, for example, a Volvo XC-60, or similar. I can see a huge potential in the market for the VW ID Buzz, but it’s more likely to be compared with a Vauxhall Vivaro-E Life or Mercedes eVito Tourer. These are like-for-like comparisons for customers. Just my opinion, but it was my first thought.
I’d agree except the Buzz is just a big car with a big boot. Not a van, not a camper, not a 7 seater. I don’t really get it as a proposition - everyone that’s seen it wants an EV california or a 7 seater EV of which this is neither. You’re spending quite a bit more than an ID4 on an ID4 with a makeover
The 77kW (usable) battery capacity in the Buzz is a little bit on the small side. Once you start actually carrying things and people around, you will be stopping to charge quite a lot. VW should bring a bigger battery for the Buzz (and for the ID.4 / ID.5 too🤞). It's a great, usable and comfortable car overall. It's short range is its only Achilles' Heel.
It's definitely its achilles heel... But it has other issues you should not get in a £60k car: fixed rear windows, pay extra for a 12inch screen instead of a standard 10inch one, boot won't open when plugged into many public chargers due to large space needed for opening it and the charge point being at the rear, no frunk, internal hard plastics scratch easily and should not be in a £60k car.
Drove both last week. Buzz was slow and boring to drive, Tesla blew it away in every aspect, other than the obvious loading capacity (tested cargo Buzz!)
I own an ID Buzz and love its very relaxed on road manners. It certainly doesn't need to be any quicker in my opinion, but I do have a 600 LT Spider and 718 Spyder tucked away in my garage which tick the entertaining drive box for me. .
@@JBthemanwithcars I think a dual motor Sportline version would be amazing. I currently drive a VW T6 4Motion and it’s mapped to 235bhp and the Buzz felt a bit slower.
One thing to mention about the new Model Y: there are no parking sensors. This is due to be remedied when they eventually get Tesla Vision (camera-only parking aids) to work properly, but right now there are no audible parking aids on the vehicle. Even the Dacia Sandero Expression gets rear parking sensors, and that costs £45k less than the Model Y. Appalling
@@Kenbark42 No. I’d also like suspension that isn’t made of concrete, headlights that don’t blind oncoming cars all the time, as well as ‘advanced’ features available in cars costing less than a quarter of the price, i.e. parking sensors.
@@SpenceW well with such specific demands, it sounds like you have fabricated a series of very specific requirements for a vehicle. Perhaps VW will be a perfect choice for you! Their cars hardly work, and will piss you off so much you won’t want to drive them. Enjoy
By coincidence, I took my two teenage boys with me yesterday to test both these cars. We loved the tech and cockpit of the Tesla, it drove beautifully BUT all three of us chose the Buzz asour favourite. There's much more personal space in the Buzz especially in the rear (important for the kids) and as said, made us feel happy. Somehow, despite all the benefits of the Y, it was a more joyous drive and I'd like more joy rather than more efficiency in my life.
@@peterharrison110 hi Peter, I ordered a first edition Buzz but after production changes, price rises and a poor finance offer I cancelled. At that time Tesla offered zero percent finance on the Model 3, so that's what I'm driving now. I have no regrets.

Objectively the range/charging/network alone give it to the Tesla, subjectively I think there is definitely a niche for the ID.Buzz' style (however I much prefer the Model Y appearance, I think it looks great!)
If ever a vehicle defined style over substance it is the Buzz. Horrendously over priced, looks great without doubt. With Tesla's price cuts the Buzz is approx £20k more expensive than the Y. Guess someone has to pay for diesel gate. Won't be me.
Girls.... The standard range RWD single motor is out and about in the UK now so this could have been a better comparison. I had really high hopes for the buzz as a follow on from the kombi t5 I once had but it doesn't even come close in practicality. Expected much more for that sort of money!
@@timlomax5824 In our country the prices are currently Model Y SR: 58.370,-- or around £51.618 and the Model Y LR costs 63.520,-- or around £56.173 thats a difference of £4.555,--
Have eagerly anticipated the Buzz for years. Problem is, over those years so many more options are available now and more coming soon and not at $60k which is patently absurd for basically a minivan.
I need to get my windsurfing equipment into the car. Not a chance in the Tesla. I can sleep in the Buzz, an awning in front and you can stand comfortably 1-2 weeks in a bay. Back to the roots ;) . And he also just caught me emotionally. In March mine should be delivered, after three years I'll get the longer version with larger battery and awd. I never smile at a Tesla, but about every buzz I encounter. Then I just need an hour longer for the distance on vacation.... a good price for a good mood. And in leasing, the Buzz is significantly cheaper for me than the Tesla!
I have yet to drive the Buzz, but I’ve driven the Y on British roads and the suspension is utterly appalling. It’s so harsh that it’s un-liveable and I’d never buy one for that reason alone. The rest is actually good, the Y is an excellent car. The Buzz is just cool, but that infotainment is appalling. Wait for the Buzz refresh with updated tech, drive-train and battery. Hopefully the Y gets air suspension and then becomes an option to drive on our terrible roads.
The Buzz looks like a truly lovely EV but about £15000 over priced van. That’s not just a few quid, it’s a lot of money especially when you add 10% finance to purchase price. I just wish I could justify the cost as the drive is so chilling, and the car is so practical. For me the cost and 2 year waiting list makes this none starter. I have waited for this bus for nearly 3 years and now its “here” it cost the same as a mortgage and I still have to wait 2 more years for a 210 mile inefficient iconic trip down memory lane.
Love the design / colours of the ID Buzz, but I can't handle the small range and software issues. Tesla are just plain boring... Lack of colours and don't have a heads-up display. In balance I wouldn't waste my £60k+ on either....
So an mix of these 2 like the iD-Buzz body shell on top of the Tesla skateboard battery +electric motors it would be the most epic thing for the moment.. Happy New Year Everyone... !!!!
Just leased a fully loaded ID Buzz for half the price of a model y long range. They are totally different cars but couldn't resist that deal. Only a 2 year deal but pretty amazing value.
I think the ID buzz can fit bulkier items in the rear and I personally would wait for the larger 111kwh battery with AWD in my cold climate. To me, it comes down to price and range (to overcome rural living).
@@Moody_Blues_ Love your name! I’ve seen them live. @@Moody_Blues_ The charging curve is actually better than most batteries. You would never start from zero. That would destroy the battery. So it would not be an hour of charging, even if the vehicle stopped completely.
@@therookienomore88 Charging is better on the ID Buzz than you might think. But if you have a 230-240 volt outlet, which you probably do if you live in Europe, then you will do well to charge at home.
The Buzz's boot is 1.581 liters, the Model Y's boot is only 854 liters. Both numbers are with the seats up and partial shelf removed. These people pulled numbers out of their asses.
Wow, these two are not in the same league... The VW is heavier, slower, more expensive, charges slower, has smaller boot capacity and was released years after the Tesla... Dr. Winterkorn said years ago that VW would manufacture electric cars which are twice better and cost half than the Tesla's... I'm wondering when VW is planning to do that. :-)
@@stevezodiac491 OK, will do. Please tell me when you need that 650 miles range. I'm asking because my diesel car has the same or slightly better range but I hardly ever need to use it.
@@evboy4287 late reply I know, but it's sloppy journalism to not realise Tesla (like prehaps Landrover) measure boot capacity to the ceiling, where as most manufacturers measure to the bottom of the rear window. Which as you can imagine is a fairly significant difference. So where the boot of the id Buzz is about 1120 liters, the boot of the Tesla will be about half that (excluding under-boot and frunk).
How can you not even get the size of the battery correct for the model Y, as a channel that is devoted to EV's? They changed batteries a long time ago, the current LR version is 82 kWh. You could argue about kWh usable, but if the ID buzz is 77, then the model Y is 82.
Excellent review. I look forward to improved batteries power density to give the cars 100KWh batteries, then you’ve got usable real world range. Let’s face it the real world range in the VW is 160 miles. As a test, it would be useful to show the miles per KWh on a clear motorway at 70 mph, then we would have some kind of sensible idea of efficiency. The current tests seem useless if every single vehicle gets roughly 20% less the test.
If Ford would introduce the e-Lightning to European market then it can be configured to match these EV's prices, in lower PRO trim pack and that might be an even cooler option not just more practical but also with off-road ability, If price is no problem then Rivian (R1T/R1S) or GMC Hummer EV (pick-up truck or SUV) would be the top dogs in EV sector..
Can’t fit a two-dog box in the back of the model Y. That was the deal breaker for me. They just could not resist sloping the rear roof too sharply. Can easily fit dog box in the ID Buzz. Also, the Travel Assist driving software in Buzz is much better, and cheaper than the Tesla driving assistant.
Just for illustration, that 500 mi trip would take 200 kWh with the ID Buzz and 113 kWh with the Model Y. I don't know what the price at rapid chargers in the UK is, but that is a saving of more than €50,= in the Netherlands using the Fastned chargers. Assuming 10k miles per year, that adds up to €1200,= per year.
It is misleading to compare the battery size in these two vehicles without also comparing the overall efficiency (measured in watt-hours per mile). Efficiency also affects charging time. An EV with less efficiency will take longer to charge to the same number of miles than an EV with more efficiency. There is a glaring error at 4:32... the Model Y most certainly does have window switches, located on either door armrest. Likewise with the seat adjustment controls, which are located on either front seat. Steering wheel and outside mirror adjustments are made with scroll wheels located on the steering wheel.
I own a Tesla Model Y and love the car. But the appeal of the Buzz is undeniable. The only thing that would keep my from putting it in the garage next to my Tesla is the range. In the rural US you real need about 300 miles of range.
how to skip the point it hasn't 3 full rear seats... how they could put the same seat bank like in an ID4.... 3 single seats like in the Touran or T6 would have been perfect
Re: storage space, Tesla figures are completely out of whack because they ignore the parcel shelf. Other manufacturers measure up to the parcel shelf. There are direct comparison tests out there showing you can actually fit more in a Skoda Enyaq boot than you can in a Model Y. So comparing it to a Buzz based on Tesla figures is bonkers. Bjorn's banana box tests are instructive. With back seats up up he got 10 in an Enyaq, 9+1(frunk) in a Y and 30 in a Buzz. Yes, 30. Rich Symons has also done Enyaq v Y practicality comparisons showing the Enyaq is bigger.
Surprised this channel don't know this. Tesla's figures are misleading. They measure up to the ceiling/rear windscreen. They should perhaps trust their eyes a bit more?
Hmmm looks matter and what a car makes you feel like .... So Tesla Y,3,X are boring and even ugly to make it efficient. I would get a BUZZ as a family car and live with its short coming plus better ride 😁
Great review from two lovely ladies. It is so nice to hear a detailed and comprehensive review from a woman's point of view. They point out important things that the men simply overlook. Well done. Subscribed.
I was pulling for the buzz but the efficiency, range, performance of the Tesla frankly embarrassed the buzz, even the touchscreen on the buzz is embarrassing. Imo if vw doesn't know about computers they should make the buzz controls tactile buttons/switches (not many people asking for screens?) ( Maps app on phone tablet better than the car nav?) I'm not familiar with vw anyone know if vw has an electric sedan and how it compares to the y? Is it just the minivan that is blown away and the sedan can match the Tesla or are the Tesla's way ahead even on a sedan vs sedan comparison
I was looking at the Audi Q4 13 months ago. I also drove a Tesla model 3 and a Ford Mach-e. The Tesla is a much more mature car than the Q4 (and the Ford) but I ordered the Q4 simply because the Tesla felt like a soulless robot (the Mach-e came second). Tesla make the best EVs in the world. There is no doubt about that, but they are just modes of transport. They don't make you feel good. I really like the look of the Fisker Ocean. 🙂
I really had the impression they were more advanced with the metric conversions in the past, it’s like they’re all falling back into this medieval unit system. And if that’s their choice, fine, but then I demand to have the weight figures provided in stones as well please.
I'm a Model Y owner. I love the car, and there are currently only 2 vehicles I would consider replacing my Model Y for. The long wheelbase Buzz, and the upcoming Cybertruck. The price of the Buzz is pushing me toward the Cybertruck, especially with the different charging types in the US. Supercharger vs other DC fastcharger there is currently no comparison. Supercharger wins hands down.
In US there are more alternatives for around same price : Canoo EV (something like iD-Buzz), Alpha Wolf BEV truck or if something bigger is the main priority the Ford F-150 e-Lightning configured in lower trim PRO pack dual motor, with long range battery..
Agreed on the Supercharger network, that was one of the reasons I got my Model Y. I like the idea & look of the Buzz, but their tech is not the best. Range is subpar, forget about performance and so far VW has pissed off ID.4 owners with the lack of software updates. They finally got a software update in December after a super long wait, but your have to go into the dealer to have it done. No OTA updates? Tesla owners take that kind of thing for granted.

Great review, but I dont understand why you didn’t choose the Tesla Model Y RWD for the test. It’s still a lot faster than the VW, but a lot cheaper: the Tesla costs £45.000 (all options included) and the Buzz 1st edition £ 63.000. That difference makes these cars almost incomparible.
The short range in the Buzz and long waiting times are a bit of a deal breaker. Also, not only was the Model Y cheaper already, but since this was published, Tesla has dropped its prices by 15%.
I love the Buzz, I am also classic VW fan boy. The only deal breaker for me is the range. They need to increase that. Everything else is awesome though.

Great review and sums up my feelings about Teslas . I admire their tech and the capability but the design leaves me cold - it just looks like an appliance to my eyes. I worry that the Buzz is bit too far in the other direction though, very average mechanicals styled up to tug on the emotions and relieve you of a lot of hard earned cash. Personally, I would buy an Ionic 5 for its retro inspired styling, reliable tech and decent range/performance/efficiency. Oh and I would also save £20K over the Buzz. That seems a good combo to me.

The ID Buzz has way more cargo space than the Model Y. The Model Y has 971 liters of total cargo space, frunk included, according to their own website, the Buzz has 1.581 liters according to VW's website. Both number are with the seats up and filled to the roof. So apparently, you were denying the facts 5:54. Tesla doesn't say how much cargo space there is underneath the partial shelf.
Aren't these cars very very different types of cars? I would compare the ID.4 with the MY. The Buzz seems to be a nice car, but the highway range is just not practical.
Both bargains on lease, got a buzz life coming soon for not much as 2nd car, ipace going out afer long lease may go model y along side the buzz. Problem solved lol But the buzz is clearly more practical as well as a bit more special?
The id4 is inefficient and bad enough without putting a bus on that platform. Definitely would go with the Y and would pay more to do it. The id4 doesn’t have battery preconditioning and slow charges in the colder temps

Radition from what?
The only thing that puts me off is the network, the buzz has dreadful range, making the network even more important...
If you are a 95% short drive family I'd say go for it, but if you travel 160+ miles it does get tricky, not impossibly tricky but its worth a consideration.
The other day we had my friends Tycan and we had to hunt for a working charger with 1% battery remaining it felt scary.
1% battery in an EV is not exactly the same thing as 1% on a smartphone
You can go a legitimately long distance on 5% battery charge in an EV.
Great point, I think people in general have zero clue, as to how far behind especially VW is on the
EV front, and this review is useless, as they don´t actually review much about these vehicles (technically) , no charge curves, infrastructure, degradation, efficicency in cold/varm temps. ans so on....

OK, I wish the Y had an ice scraper!
although you've also got against the model Y:
- boring
- dull
- no character
- stiff ride
- more oppressive in the back seats
- weird shaped and narrow boot vs the lovely square/wider/taller Buzz boot
- costs £482 a month to lease (vs £400 a Buzz currently)
- world's most annoying door handles
- did I say boring? generic?
- how many people need to drive 170 miles without stopping multiple times every winter?
Think I can live with a shorter range and slower speed and save £1k a year
Buzz was Whatcar car of the year 2023 - can't be all that bad!
What about the 91 kwh version? 🙂
Y for the safety, software and the charge network! VW bus looks nice for a minivan.
@@SpenceW oh dang. Really? That’s disappointing to hear for sure. I haven’t tried any of the newer to compare but that’s what they been saying.

I just got one, and you can fit 4 adult bikes just by removing the wheels, and in the rear without folding the seats :)
@@StefanoGirolimetto why not 6 if you take all the bikes apart? Maybe even 10 if you grind the bikes into dust?
A lot of bikes have a quick release for the front wheel. So it’s not a hassle.
Same Monday, similar core proposition…
I’d agree except the Buzz is just a big car with a big boot. Not a van, not a camper, not a 7 seater. I don’t really get it as a proposition - everyone that’s seen it wants an EV california or a 7 seater EV of which this is neither. You’re spending quite a bit more than an ID4 on an ID4 with a makeover
Not really as the Buzz is based on the same platform as the other ID cars, so more car with van body than traditional MPVs
They will, but they should have done that already, because first impressions matter.
I agree with faster charging and a bigger battery.
It will be available also long wheel base with bigger battery dunno how big though.
@@mr.wizeguy8995 in another TH-cam video they said that vw are not realising the long wheel base in the U.K
Drove both last week. Buzz was slow and boring to drive, Tesla blew it away in every aspect, other than the obvious loading capacity (tested cargo Buzz!)
I own an ID Buzz and love its very relaxed on road manners. It certainly doesn't need to be any quicker in my opinion, but I do have a 600 LT Spider and 718 Spyder tucked away in my garage which tick the entertaining drive box for me. .
They need to make a Buzz GTE!
Appalling
Are parking sensors the only and most significant feature you shop for?
@@Kenbark42 No. I’d also like suspension that isn’t made of concrete, headlights that don’t blind oncoming cars all the time, as well as ‘advanced’ features available in cars costing less than a quarter of the price, i.e. parking sensors.
@@SpenceW well with such specific demands, it sounds like you have fabricated a series of very specific requirements for a vehicle. Perhaps VW will be a perfect choice for you! Their cars hardly work, and will piss you off so much you won’t want to drive them. Enjoy

Just leased a fully loaded ID Buzz for half the price of a model y long range. They are totally different cars but couldn't resist that deal. Only a 2 year deal but pretty amazing value.
Genuine question - how much does it cost to insure a 60 grand car?
I think the ID buzz can fit bulkier items in the rear and I personally would wait for the larger 111kwh battery with AWD in my cold climate. To me, it comes down to price and range (to overcome rural living).

That’s why for that data you should follow Teslabjorn 😂👍🏻
You said 4 years unlimited mileage warranty on Model Y in the UK? Was that a mistake? Mine appears to have 4 years / 50,000 miles.
Model Y now starts at £44.990 in the UK (£52.990 for the long range)
ID buzz, only EV that’s actually cool,Tesla’s are becoming a little common,a bit like Ford cortina’s we’re in Dagenham in the 70’s.
If Ford would introduce the e-Lightning to European market then it can be configured to match these EV's prices,
in lower PRO trim pack and that might be an even cooler option not just more practical but also with off-road ability,
If price is no problem then Rivian (R1T/R1S) or GMC Hummer EV (pick-up truck or SUV) would be the top dogs in EV sector..
Both are too expensive... Not for me, but great video and channel 😊☺️☺️
Yh... bricks aren't very efficient. But I love ❤️ the look of the buzz!
Keep the speed under 65mph and air resistance is not that much of an issue, at 55 and lower it's not an issue at all.
Very odd how the rear passenger windows on the Buzz aren’t operable 🤔
awwwhh thats annoying
They are different vehicles. Is a Mondeo compared to a Transit?
Good to see the magic VW figure generator is still working its tricks. That real world range and poor warranty rules it out. A 2 year wait, no thanks.
how to skip the point it hasn't 3 full rear seats... how they could put the same seat bank like in an ID4....

Well done. Subscribed.
I was pulling for the buzz but the efficiency, range, performance of the Tesla frankly embarrassed the buzz, even the touchscreen on the buzz is embarrassing.
Imo if vw doesn't know about computers they should make the buzz controls tactile buttons/switches (not many people asking for screens?) ( Maps app on phone tablet better than the car nav?)
I'm not familiar with vw anyone know if vw has an electric sedan and how it compares to the y?
Similar thoughts even i didn't choose Audi. Tesla ins't a car it's a gadget.

In US there are more alternatives for around same price : Canoo EV (something like iD-Buzz), Alpha Wolf BEV truck or
if something bigger is the main priority the Ford F-150 e-Lightning configured in lower trim PRO pack dual motor, with long range battery..

Where was the road test done, that looks like a great road.
Model Y suspension is very firm, you can understand but I would like to see air suspension like in model S&X but overall I love my model Y, it is a iPad with wheels.
Ioniq 5 every time. The Buzz is simply a lot of cash for short 200 mile trip down memory Lane.
Here is som fested love to both of You Ginny and Nicki - Love your video'es - and also the ones that Mr. Ford makes. Happy New Year to all of You from Denmark. 💗❤👌👍
Forget the range comparison, the built quality, the lack of user friendly tech, the price, the lack of charging systems. Just think about the ID is not available period in the USA 😢
Great ! I know the model y is boring but it is such a great car . We don;'t have the buzz in the US yet
Boring….until you drive it.
@@shou635 Great way to describe it. I call it the most fun soccer mom car 😅😅
Both exceptional cars in different ways, overall though after the horrors of trying to find working stations with a hydrogen car I am in no way gonna do it again on a less than stellar charging network -- poopy chargers WILL wear on you. Thus Tesla wins
The original 14:38 Car Manufacturers have to keep their original branding and style to keep their customers happy and different to its competitors , then make their cars Electic which is a tough ask … where as Tesla got a state of the art battery & drive train then built a new car on top with new technology….. so the future could be Google, Apple etc cars which have no limitations…whilst Merc , BMWs & alike have to look a certain way …
As an id.3 driver I’m really liking the buzz. But the software and performance of the system really is lacking.
I’ll wait for the 7 seater longer range ID Buzz. Till the. It’s still not as practical as my previous Seat Alhambra.
Buzz looks great but performance not great , biggest problem apart from the software is how to get one
Model Y warranty is 4 years and 50,000 miles for the main car and 8 years or 120,000 miles for the battery and motors
The id4 is inefficient and bad enough without putting a bus on that platform. Definitely would go with the Y and would pay more to do it. The id4 doesn’t have battery preconditioning and slow charges in the colder temps
I can understand why the buzz over the car.
But if I went for a van, it would be the new delivery van made by Rivian.
Now that would make the ideal camper van! Mmmm
Can u review eqe43 or eqe53 amg? Maybe compare to bmw i4 m40 or m50 will be nice
Road noise in that Buzz is terrible at highway speeds. Impossible to talk with rear seat passengers.
The appearance of the Tesla Model 3 & Y remind me of the Chrysler Neon I had 15 years ago.
In this day and age its not about speed its more about how much its weight is and how and how far it will go as well as the tesla network of chargers if you had the option for both of these I the TESLA every time.
I love your reviews and I live in the US, love the looks of the VW, but living in the center of the US at the present time the VW would not fit the
needs of most people in this area.
I’m curious how the rear wheel drive handles on snow and ice, typically they are bad in those situations, but I haven’t had a recent rear wheel drive vehicle with all the tech that prevents the issues I’ve had with them in the past, speaking from Colorado (whenever the buzz gets here)
I have an ID Buzz 1st Edition and set off on a journey yesterday which quickly turned into roads covered in snow. The car was surprisingly capable and very stable. I have uploaded a video to my TH-cam page which might answer some more questions you have.
You are thinking or front engined vehicles it comes down to weight over the driven wheels and with the VW platform the battery is in the middle so plenty of weight over the driven wheels. The Scandinavians dont seem to have any issues driving in the snow with them
@@J3nk1ns66 exactly, last rear drive car was back in high school I snuck out my dad’s car and slid right into a ditch, and like you said, big engine in front with rear wheel drive! I like hearing that the weight distribution adds a lot to the performance in icy conditions! I do love the Buzz!!
@@JBthemanwithcars I’ll be watching that one!! I’m envious!
My Hyundai Ioniq 5 is rear wheel drive. Had no troubles in the snow a couple of weeks ago.
Kinda missed the price cuts and as the ID Buzz @ £62K is RWD and it's range is actually significantly less than the the Model Y RWD then perhaps you should be comparing those. @£45K that's £17K cheaper.
Better comfort and less road noice if you choose standard wheels on id buzz...just saying...
I'll take Tesla cause VW have major software issue, however love the Buzz looks.
Heart or head, if you can’t buy the car it doesn’t matter how you decide. I’ve wanted a buzz for a few years, but have a Y standard range as the two tested are too expensive for me.
Love the channel but I’d rather see comparisons of cars that people are actually going to cross-shop
Tesla just needs to make an ID Buzz like shell for the Model Y skate board. Put a circle around the Tesla T badge and bingo.
I'm guessing you can't put an 8ft surf board in the Tesla, but u could in the Buzz.
