I feel like you guys need a segment every once in a while where you try foods/products that you have never heard of or never tried before. The first one being sonic. I would live for that. I’m speaking as a long time viewer and I haven’t missed a single vlog or podcast episode since 2020! Thanks for all you guys do to make our days a little brighter :)

High school English teacher here! I've had so many flipping issues with frigin chat gpt and the kids using it. It's usually pretty obvious because the kids who tend to use it, are the kids who can barely write a paragraph, let alone an essay so it tends to sound way more mature and advanced than the kids actual ability. If the kids are smart, they'll ask chat gpt to "dumb" down the essay or make it sound like a 15 year old wrote it. It was such a pain in my butt last year. Now, I don't allow kids to write essays at home or with computers/cellphones (unless they have sort of condition that they need one), so I know it's literally them writing it. I give them a couple days of prep to be prepared but on the days of writing, paper and pen baby!

My son is turning 6 in a month and a simple phrase I say often to him is... 2 feelings (or things) can be true at the same time. He has 2 loose teeth at the moment and he was saying how nervous he was about it coming out. I told him, when your teeth come out it can be scary, it may hurt a little AND.. I know you can get through it, you will be okay. In other instances where you're validating Flynn's feelings, try rephrasing "but you will be okay" to "and I know you will be okay"... or some variation of that. I hope that helps! ❤❤

"Does anybody do that, or is that just a cartoon thing?" About tying a string to a tooth and a doorknob... that is EXACTLY what I thought my whole life, because it never ever worked for me as a kid... until my husband managed to get literally 3 loose teeth out painlessly for my son this way, who now begs to try it whenever he thinks a tooth might be ready.
    Apparently, it DOES work!

Colleen I love this podcast! I’m curious if there’s another way that you can discuss learning things without calling yourself stupid or dumb. I feel like I want to reach into the screen and reassure you that just because you didn’t know something doesn’t mean you’re insufficient. You’re such a curious person and you ask great questions and look things up and find cool answers! I think you’re inquisitive and learning not unintelligent. Love you!

New Mexican here. FYI, we put green chile (hatch chili) in EVERYTHING. We literally mark the start of Fall with chile roasting season. Every New Mexican has a freezer full of green chile that we eat throughout the year. We are so prideful of our chile. The common question asked as all restaurants is “red or green chile?” And when we are feeling spicy, we have Christmas chile (red and green). We hate anybody who says that Colorado chile is good. It’s a whole thing. Careful with your hatred of hatch chile. It’s like going after someone’s favorite football team. lol

    ABOUT THE HATCH CHILE TOPIC:
hi im a viewer from New Mexico, born and raised. Hatch Chile is not a fad and is apart of the New Mexican culture. Yes we put (green or red) Chile on everything. The most popular things that it comes on that isn’t traditionally Hispanic food are breakfast burritos with eggs, sometimes with meat and cheese, pizza (ex: pepperoni and green chile pizza), and burgers ( just straight up as a topping like lettuce and tomatoes.
Currently it is peak chile season, these are traditionally roasted. You can go to any grocery store and they roast it fresh for you outside.
So in New Mexico it is very common to see hatch Chile pop up in all sorts of things during this season. But it is VARY interesting to hear that it has made it all the way to California.
Anyways I love you guys! Love from Burque 🌶️❤️

As someone who grew up in NM, we are VERY proud of our hatch chiles! They have such a good flavor, and a lot of stores nationwide have picked up on it. Hatch season is in the early fall, so advertising ramps up at that time (similar to pumpkin spice everything). In NM, many grocery stores will have chile vendors outside and they roast them for you and it smells heavenly

Erik! I am from New Mexico and hatch chiles are NOT a fad. These have been around forever but it must be that they are making their way outside of NM now. Hatch chiles can be picked early and fresh and that's called green chile. Then you can have red chile where you allow the chile to get more ripe and it's dried out to become a spicy sauce. I personally love both for different reasons. And fun fact our state question is "red or green" often times people can't pick a favorite so they say "christmas"

I think he was shocked , confused, and excited all at the same time. Yall could tell Chris and Jessica this comment. He is Duncan's age and he thinks that's exciting and says he wishes he could play with all of yalls kids. Oh funny thing I shocked him when he found out who Miranda was. We watched ur regular channel then Miranda Sings channel and he was so shocked when he realized. Thanks for all the great content and when u left (Colleen) I searched ur channel daily to see if u finally posted a video. One day u did and I cried with excitement that u had came back. The Hatch pepper scene has hit California, apparently. I live in Texas and this time of year it is a big deal and everything in the store has Hatch chilis in it. If you ever go to Albuquerque, it is big there all year long. They ask at burger drive thrus if you want chili sauce on your burger. I found them to be rather hot but I have since learned to really like spicier foods and regularly eat jalapenos, so I might feel differently about them now. Can't wait until you guys go to sonic.. definitely should get tater tots with cheese (you can also get it with chili but their chili here sucks) and jalapeno poppers with ranch dressing. To drink, a cherry coke is always my go to. You might like Ocean Water if you like blue coconut. Peace out!

In Maryland at Wegmans, they bring in award winning chefs to grill and cook recipes using Hatch Peppers. It is almost like a festival and has been going on for at least 15 years. During that weekend is the only time you can buy these peppers all year long. Also, you can buy dry cleaning kits at grocery stores or big superstores. The kit contains the solution to put on a large rectangular pad, the pad itself, and a couple of garment bags. You put the pad with the article of clothing in the bag, put it in the dryer, and follow directions as to how long you let it run. Fun podcast!

Hatch chile from a native New Mexican -
Hatch is a city in New Mexico which started growing green chile. If you let it ripen it will turn to red. These are a 🌶️ pepper that looks a lot like that emoji.
In New Mexico it has been used for way past my entire almost 50 years of life to make a green chile (which is like a sauce you would put over a burrito for example) with onions and garlic and yummy seasonings. About this time of the year it is harvested and the grocery stores in New Mexico (Hatch is quite a ways from where I lived) would roast the chile peppers but you could also buy them and take them home to roast. Once roasted we would cut them open, remove most of the seeds and then skin them to get the fleshy part of it but not the pulpy part of it. At my house we would then freeze it in baggies the right size to make a thing of green chile. That way we had fresh green chile all year.
Not that you mentioned it but if those peppers turn red it’s turned into a red chile (again like a sauce…red is more of a puréed one and green is small chunky one).
And because of that…New Mexico has a state question which is “Red or green?” To which you can reply red, green or Christmas which is both but not like mixed together.
It’s also vital to note that New Mexico Mexican food is NOT like what people anywhere else are used to. In fact New Mexican food is different as you go further north in the state. The difference is primarily that there is a very distinct Navajo influence to it and that influence is stronger the more northern in New Mexico you go.
Why it’s now popping up in things is probably just because it is good. A lot better than a jalapeño for sure. But I don’t like the stuff it’s being put in. I just want it homemade like I grew up with.

I predict Flynn in an Animal Crossing New Horizons era because in the game you catch real insects, fish and deep sea creatures that you put in a museum, and can also display in your home or island and you learn real facts about them. You catch the deep sea ones by diving in the ocean. The creatures are also seasonal like in real life. Flynn would go nuts!

As a teacher, I recognise something is written by Chat GPT when it sounds like a robot, ir too formal and unnatural in a way that sounds a little cheesy or too formated. Sometimes, however, students are smart, and they post edit the work. It wouldn't sound too robot if the student did do the work and used the AI to proofread or rewrite to correct grammer or rephrase something better. That's fair enough because Grammerly does that students are allowed to use it.
I am NOT adveritising for Grammerly, by the way 😅

I went to college from 2019-2023, chatGPT came out when I was a junior. People talked about it and said they used it for their essays but it wasn’t until my senior year that it became really big. Teachers use a bot detector to see if it seems like it’s written by a human or AI, but it’s hard to tell. It was written into some syllabus’s saying you cannot use it at all or other teachers said you can but have to report that you did or else it would be cheating. My boyfriend and sister both have gotten caught for plagiarism using it but teachers were somewhat lenient when I was in school since it was brand new.

I’m completely aging myself here (I turn 55 this year), and I always had to use spray deodorant after PE the whole time I was in high school. And here is a clip from a favorite 80’s classic called Better Off Dead, filmed in the 80’s, in the US for proof!! th-cam.com/video/Aq85pCfobXc/w-d-xo.htmlsi=5LO2CW1ADOf5w-0Z&t=1m24s

Hatch Chiles are Anaheim chiles that are specifically grown in the Hatch Valley, New Mexico.
They are used in most green Chile recipes. They come in mild and spicy versions.
    They are DEFINITELY NOT NEW!😂🤣🌶

My home dryer is supposed to dry clean clothes. Of course it wouldn't be as good as the industrial machines. I've never used it, but it would definitely be without water if it's in the dryer. If I remember correctly, there's a rack that goes in the dryer (don't know where that is). You use something on the spots, not regular detergent. It basically steams them clean. I think it's the Steam Fresh setting on my dryer.

I took an ethics class a few semesters ago and we had weekly assignment to talk about our different ethical opinions. Our professor told us that someone went into Chat GPT and just copy pasted the question into chat GPT and then copy pasted the response into the assignment and submitted it. He told us that if we are going to cheat at least proof read what you submitted. It said, “as a robot for chat GPT I don’t have an ethical opinion and can’t have one” we all died laughing! Also love you guys! I’ve been a follower for over 5 years and love watching you, and your family! Keep being amazing!🫶🏼

Man, I was not cautious about losing teeth. I have a vivid memory of being late to dinner because I was DETERMINED to yank a loose tooth out. It was definitely not ready to go. I guess maybe I just hated having a loose tooth, so once one was loose, it had to go! 😂

Yes, you’re seeing Hatch chilies everywhere right now because it’s Hatch chili season in late summer so I guess big hatch (ha) thinks we want hatch peppers in everything. And yes, here in Texas, they even have cookies in our grocery store with Hatch Chilies in them 😂🤦🏻‍♀️

I use chat gpt for college. I feel like it needs to be embraced. Just like it used to be against the rules to Google things and now you're allowed to use Google, AI is going to be the same thing. In fact, for my grad school orientation they said that we could use it as long as it's within the boundaries of what's allowed. It really is like magic. But I've found it's most useful if you give it very specific instructions and also that you don't ask it to write more than like 300 words. It's not good at complex things. But I have used it to write essays for me (with editing) one paragraph at a time. I think the best way to utilize it is to ask it to reword something to make it sound more clear. But you have to ask it to not be redundant or use bullet points. Chat gpt is extremely redundant. But play around with it more, it's really like magic. But you do have to fact check it. And it's extremely biased.

My mom worked at a cleaners majority of her life and she always tells me to NEVER take my clothes to the dry cleaners to get cleaned. People are really dirty and take their dirty clothes and all of the clothes is washed together. You can take your clothes to get pressed (basically getting ironed) but make sure you wash and dry your clothes at home! Also, they put small tickets in each clothes with a different number sequence for each customer to know who's clothes it is.
