I talk to myself all the time. Whenever I’m by myself, or even if my parents are nearby, I mutter to myself reminders, or just about random craziness. I like talking to myself. Ialso makeup goofy voices for my stuffed animals and act as they are my children, because I cannot have any real kids of my own, I talk as my stuffed animals, and I love it. I sort my m&m’s by color. I love doing that. I’m strange and proud to be. I wear socks to bed every once in a while. My feet are alwasy cold, and I love wearing sock to bed year round. I love the chaotic style of this podcast.
I will always use what my parents used growing up for when we were puking which is a small trash can with a wal mart bag in it, and make sure theres no holes at the bottom. WAY easier clean up. just quickly tie the bag and throw it in the garbage outside and put a new bag in. Am I the only one who does this?
I was literally thinking the same thing. We always use a small bedroom trash can with a bag in it. Like you said so much easier to clean up. Throwing up in an actual food dish is insane. 🤢
Thank you so much for answering my question!! It means a lot to me watching my fav podcast, and of course in my fluffy socks!!! I love the rabbit hole you guys went down of different topics due to my question, always putting a massive smile on my face I love you guys so much!!🩷❤
Absolutely loving Erik’s socks today but kinda sad we didn’t see any ankle 😂😂😂 I know you both thought today’s episode was a mess but I LOVED it!! Colleen, I also talk to myself. So much so that my next door neighbor (who happens to be my best friend) heard me and came over because she thought I had company!!!
Colleen, I did all of that, with the separation by color and flavor and I have ADHD and autism. I save the best for last as well, the last bite has to be my favorite thing on the plate
Omg COLLEEN I did this ADHD color separating thing too, but with EVERYTHING. Rainbow goldfish, my markers when I colored had to be in rainbow order, all my bites of my food on my plate had to be all equal parts, best for last. Had NO idea it was ADHD thing but now with ADHD as an adult I see why 🤣
Colleen - my boyfriend always just sticks his hand into any pack of gummies, or even an assorted gummy mix, and I am APPALLED that he doesn’t look at the flavours and sort them first!!! I’m so with you on that ❤️
I can't even tell you how many times I literally caught my children's vomit with my HANDS when they were toddlers! Ugh! So gross! And at some point McDonald's started putting Happy Meals in plastic buckets, so we had a ton of them all over the house, in every room, on every table, and many pukes were caught in those handy buckets! My boys are 13 and 15 now, and they still both have one by their beds, for tissues, but if it's an absolute emergency, it can still be used for vomit 🤮! Fun times...
Colleen, I'm talking to myself too. I sing myself theme songs, talk out loud so I don't forget what I'm doing, and I also do character work with, by, and only for myself lol. I think I do it because I am such an in the moment person and it helps me to absorb the joy from every moment possible!
Colleen you’re not the only one that does this too with skittles! And M&Ms. But I would eat the M&Ms from least amount to most amount because they are all chocolate! And I do the same with my meals. I’ll eat my least favorite thing first before the better things. I also have to have my food separated. I can’t have it touching! Only exception is on thanksgiving when I mix my mashed potatoes with everything!
I LOVE PULP!! The more the better. It's like a meal and a drink all in one!! (that sounds kinda gross as I type it) Love the podcast, love the pulp! 🟠♥
I didn't separate skittles, but I did eat them in order of worst to best to end on the best. I definitely also did and still do the same thing with Lucky Charms. Gotta save the marshmallows for last!
Colleen, I do the same thing when talking to myself. You are not alone. And I hate to say it but it’s true, you only get weirder as you get older! (I’m in my 40s.)
Carrot talking about paying for lunch with a golden ticket sounds like the lunch program at my school for people With less money. Your parents would sign you up and pay x amount and you got a card that you showed to the lunch lady every day instead of presenting cash.
I love orange juice pulp. I save lucky charms marshmallows for the end... And I save the red skittles for last, but orange is 2nd best. I have millions of frogs in my back yard and front yard.
Yes, separate the Skittles! Purple is delicious But my favorites are the tropical ones I sorted all candy as a child, counted them and ate them saving what I liked best for last, but quantity largest to smallest. I don't like marshmallows except in rice crispy treats or s'more. It's a weird texture for me.
Absolutely can relate with Colleen about separating things as you eat them. My biggest one growing up was fruit loops. I used to have to eat them one color at a time (eat all the green, then yellow, then orange, etc). The thought of taking a big spoon full of fruit loops with random colors makes me so uncomfortable. Also, skittles DEFINITELY have different flavors.
With any meal or candy, I always eat my least favorite item first and my favorite last so the after taste in your mouth is the best one 🤤 On a somewhat related note, I love actual grapes and peaches, but hate any grape or peach flavored candy or soda 😊 Love you guys! Fellow preemie twin mom here!
Always sorted my skittles, m&ms, ate the best part of cereal last. I even add vegetables to my food (like broccoli in my Mac and cheese) and then pick all the vegetables out first. I don’t have (diagnosed) ADHD but I am autistic so it might be a neurodivergent thing
Omg, I’m not the only one that does that with Skittles!!! I do the same thing with Starbursts, and any other multipack candy/chocolate. Believe it or not, there’s a further step if I’m feeling extra: laying them out by kind, first eating the extra amounts of each kind, then eating one at a time so each flavor goes down the same amount 🤪
I've been doing the solo, out loud "announcer" voice my entire life...especially when I spot something (on the floor) and am instantly afraid of it...until further investigation, when it turns out to be something innocuous like: "OH, MY GOD! IT'S A PIECE OF ONION SKIN!" I'm also a lifelong M&M separator who CANNOT sleep in socks.
I grew up in Cali: and yes, lunch was OUTSIDE. We had a cafeteria, but there wasnt a lot of seating inside. Also seniors could leave for lunch if parents signed a note saying they were allowed to go. I dont think i ever ate in the cafeteria in high school EVER.
I too do that still to this day- rather every night as my midnight snack aka cookies-with my lucky charms. I also add sugar to eat the grams with so they don’t taste horrible. Is my guilty pleasure 💜
I also- seperate any candy in colors. Any other way too. Like my least fav first and my absolute fav last. I HAVE to sleep with socks on and walk around with them- unless also super hot etc. at the least- in slippers. Cannot deal with fluffy socks thou. Ankle socks only. Marine biology is amazing. Orcas have the most intellectual abilities as far as relationships and communication. They are closer with one another than we are. Some cool things to look up- file fish, garden eels, the underside of cow nose rays, baby stingrays, epaulette sharks, and red guearra fish. 💜
I separated my skittles and M&Ms and I also saved the marshmallows in my cereal for last!😂 I haven’t been diagnosed with ADHD but my brother has…so maybe I should look into that.
Absolutely NO to the pulp. Disgusting. It feels like drinking little bugs. I talk to myself probably more than I talk to people! And out loud. Sometimes I catch myself doing it in public places like the grocery store and have to pray that people don’t think I’m bananas. As an adhd girly, I’ve never thought about it but I absolutely do eat the cereal bits first in lucky charms, and I do eat my skittles by color. I don’t like when I have too many of the same color in a row though! Also green is the best and I won’t hear anything else on the topic! Do you do this with anything else? For instance, when I’m eating a cookie/brownie I will eat the outside first because the middle is the best last bite. Love you guys and this episode P.S. I woke up yesterday to my dog puking on my shoulder and chest at 5 in the morning. I’m with you Erik, the worst way to wake up. And always on the bed!!
I grew up in Danbury Connecticut and then later in my adult years moved to Florida so I have a similar shocking experience at learning that kids just have school outside! Even some of the schools here kids have to walk across a field to go to a new building for just one of their classes! Blows my mind. Also we were not allowed to leave during lunch and I got in trouble all the time for doing it anyway 😂
ADHD’er, I absolutely have always separated all of my candies by colour and would eat them in order of least favourite to most favourite flavour. Yellow/Lemon is always my fave. I would also always need two at a time, to have one on each side of my mouth when chewing for full mouth flavour lol. If there was an odd number of a flavour, I would eat it on one side and then switch and started with the 1 so I could finished the flavour with 2. Lol I sound insane haha but I truly thought this was common behaviour. People (my husband also) who just throw a handful of skittles into their mouth at once….. how?!?? And why???
adult diagnosed Adhd here, i do ALL these things. talking to myself, running at weird moments, and creating weird voices songs or tunes. sorting of food. oh yes definitely did that, still do lol the lucky charms one is the best one!!
I turned this on during my lunch break. The pulp convo made me laugh because I love the pulp. It's more like eating an orange and I feel like I'm getting the good stuff. LOL
I watched the clip SEVERAL times on Instagram!!! Hilarious!! I'm 1000% guilty of doing this and thankfully had kids to pretend that's why I do it. I just live in my own world and crack myself up!
Skittles have the same flavor but different scents. If you plug your nose when eating them you will not be able to tell what flavor it is until you unplug your nose. PLEASE try it next episode
I literally get orange juice with EXTRA pulp. I LOVE it. I love any drink that I have to chew. 😂 And we NEED to see the footage Colleen!!!! You’ve shared so much on the internet, no need to be embarrassed of that!!! Loll
Colleen, I went to the same high school as you but way before you. (I graduated in 1978) I never ate in the cafeteria either. I would pick up a corn dog and carton of milk then go and eat on the patch of grass just outside the choir room. Things never change I guess. ❤
My family barf bowl is the popcorn bowl a plastic white bowl with popcorn printed on the bottom, and my family has a golden yellow bowl with handles a lid with lines and a circle in the middle we would use it for like mixing or putting thing together before baking storing food in the fridge like chili or Waterman and it might have been used as a barf bawl at some point
When my husband and I go hiking or do anything in the woods, we always find a “spider stick” and just wave it around in front of us lol it looks crazy but hey no webs in the face 😂
Colleen! I talk to myself, the TV and if we go to the movies my husband tells me not to talk to the screen... I do it on accident though. He will nudge me. I think it's funny. I would love to see some footage.
I talk to myself I seperate all my food I cant wear sunglasses I cry a lot My tummy always hurts I always have to sit with my legs up on the seat The sound of scissors on fabric cutting board is so satisfying, i too am too similar
omg there's no way!!!!!! I think you just diagnosed me with ADHD lol I literally used to separate all my candies and cereal especially lucky charms I would eat all the plain ones then the marshmallows and the marshmallows I would eat them by which one I had least to greatest number of marshmallows like the patterns lol I would do it with the captain crunch too all the yellows then the colors 🤣🤣
I think Colleen is right... these things are common in all people, even when they don't have ADHD. Lol Erik is one person, just because he doesn't do it doesn't mean it's not normal. 😂
Came here to say I'm Gen X and have been watching the documentary Brats. Erik has always reminded me of someone with his mannerisms. I finally figured out it is Andrew McCarthy in the 80s!
You know what's funny about Erik not walking around in socks? My mother would approve. She always taught us that to walk in socks is a sign of mourning, so we weren't allowed to do it. Slippers were ideal, but barefoot was also ok if you had to. So I feel like Erik might have tapped into something there.
I get made fun of at work all the time for talking to myself! You are most definitely not alone Colleen! I also separate my skittles by color and eat the best (red) last. ❤
My brain is so much like yours Colleen!! I too talk to myself as well as sorting my skittles by color to eat, as well as m&m’s, and I also do this with fruit snacks, and anything that has multiple colors/flavors. Oh I also do it with gummy bears!! I also narrate my day. I used to do it out loud, but I do it in my head now because I would definitely be locked up…😂!! But I also hate walking around my home without my feet covered. I have to have socks, or my fuzzy lined Croc’s or at the very least slippers. I just hate the feel of my bare feet on the floor.
I 100% also sort my m&ms and skittles and fruit snacks by colors. Also ate the lucky charms cereal first saving ALLLL the marshmallows for last! lol I’m not sure if it’s universal but I feel like it would be? But I’m also convinced I’ve always been ADHD and masked it well where I’m not realizing this until now 😂 but you’re definitely not alone Colleen!
I grew up in northern CA (near Sac) and I am SO with Colleen about no one eating in a cafeteria. We had a pizza cart, cookie cart, etc that was scattered around the campus. We also had an open campus, so I also NEVER ate in the cafeteria. You get your pizza slice, your cookie and you go sit in one of the quads or on the grass and if it was cold/snowy you would go sit in the theater or something but never the cafeteria!
Our puke bucket growing up was the mop bucket. It always gets filled with disinfectant anyways. Now, with 3 kids, we just get the big pack of blue barf bags off Amazon and store them all over the house: nightstands, bathrooms, every door of the car. Just twist them up and throw them away. We have a lot less accidents with these. (And they've come in handy with the boys, while on the go, when we can't get to the bathroom in time).
I’m so offended that you didn’t show the footage. How DARE you tease us like that! I MUST see it. 😂 Also, I definitely do voices and narrate myself when I’m alone, which is quite frequently.
I agree we need to see the footage of you Colleen! You can’t bring it up and not show us. 😂 I absolutely separate my Skittles and Lucky Charms. I do it with my M&Ms too and eat my blue last just because it’s my favorite color. Also try peppermint oil around your windows and doors it keeps spiders out because they don’t like the smell.
I’ve done the lucky charms thing 🙋♀️ and I eat all colored things in the best color ranking! It also bothers me to step on weird ground (like cracks, like at some walmart locations where they have a weird brick lay out that doesn’t match any of the rest of the ground, or having to walk evenly between sidewalk lines….)
I love it when you're just talking and you forget that it's a podcast, those times are the best.
We need to see that footage!!!
It’s on her insta story!!
PLEASE!
She put some of it in her vlog
She put it in her most recent vlog!
Erik’s shoe and sock combo is always a 10/10. He is a fashion queen!
And the sunglasses are so cool too😎
You soo gotta show us that security camera video I literally cried laughing when you were explaining it 😂😂😂
She did on the vlog.😅
COLLEEN THAT IS SO NOT FAIR TO NOT LET US WATCH IT 😩
It’s in the most recent vlog!!!
Colleen, I talk to myself out loud too. It helps me process the thoughts in my head
Pulp indulger here 🙋🏻♀️😁, secondly we need to see that footage!! 😮
Agreed! Grove stand orange juice! Give it to me!!!!
I don’t like the pulp in my orange juice, but I adore aloe water and boba!! 🧋
Being odd is endearing. Plus what is "normal" anyways? The falseness of social media? Be unapologetically you. I love you guys!
Please show the video in tomorrows vlog of Colleen talking to herself
She does! 😁
I want to see this security camera footage so bad omg 🤣🤣
I feel like the chair that they are sitting on matches their vibes✨
Petition to show the footage lol
I will always use what my parents used growing up for when we were puking which is a small trash can with a wal mart bag in it, and make sure theres no holes at the bottom. WAY easier clean up. just quickly tie the bag and throw it in the garbage outside and put a new bag in. Am I the only one who does this?
I do this!!
I'm all about the lined trash can!
I love the rabbit hole you guys went down of different topics due to my question, always putting a massive smile on my face I love you guys so much!!🩷❤
He needed a #1 carrot shirt for Father’s Day😂😂😂
Absolutely loving Erik’s socks today but kinda sad we didn’t see any ankle 😂😂😂 I know you both thought today’s episode was a mess but I LOVED it!! Colleen, I also talk to myself. So much so that my next door neighbor (who happens to be my best friend) heard me and came over because she thought I had company!!!
Omg please get Colleen to post this footage
Please please please cuz this is me and my whole family thinks I’m weird
It is on her instagram!
Colleen, I did all of that, with the separation by color and flavor and I have ADHD and autism. I save the best for last as well, the last bite has to be my favorite thing on the plate
M&M's and Skittles ..I've always separated by color..then eat them from the pile with the most to the least...lol
lol me too!
Haha I always eat from the pile with the least to the most! Crazy how people’s brains work differently
"Two Different Brains, One Podcast" 🤣
Omg COLLEEN I did this ADHD color separating thing too, but with EVERYTHING. Rainbow goldfish, my markers when I colored had to be in rainbow order, all my bites of my food on my plate had to be all equal parts, best for last. Had NO idea it was ADHD thing but now with ADHD as an adult I see why 🤣
Colleen - my boyfriend always just sticks his hand into any pack of gummies, or even an assorted gummy mix, and I am APPALLED that he doesn’t look at the flavours and sort them first!!! I’m so with you on that ❤️
Never ever separated skittles, m&ms or anything by color.
Separating them blows my mind.
I do skits like that all the time! I literally never even thought about it until right now. lol now I NEED to see this video!
Sending you both so much love and positivity! I could watch you for hours/days! ❤❤❤❤
OMG the puppets dressed as Miranda in the lipstick is the best thing ever!!!!!😂💄
Lipstick? I don’t see that 😂 I just see their mouths open.
Colleen, I'm just like you! I talk to myself, I comment on what I'm doing. I do the most embarrassing things 😂😂
I looooove orange juice with lots of pulp. I also talk to myself out loud, a lot. I hate silence, too.
You have to sort by color with anything thing that has color. You eat the worst first then go down to the very best.
"Can she do it?" 😂😂😂😂😂 I am dead 😅
That's really not fair to talk about something so funny and then not sure us!
I LOVE PULP!! The more the better. It's like a meal and a drink all in one!! (that sounds kinda gross as I type it) Love the podcast, love the pulp! 🟠♥
lol! Love pulp as well grove stand orange juice!!! Mmmm 🤤
Same!

I love orange juice pulp. I save lucky charms marshmallows for the end... And I save the red skittles for last, but orange is 2nd best. I have millions of frogs in my back yard and front yard.
Yes, separate the Skittles!
Purple is delicious
But my favorites are the tropical ones
I sorted all candy as a child, counted them and ate them saving what I liked best for last, but quantity largest to smallest.
I don't like marshmallows except in rice crispy treats or s'more. It's a weird texture for me.

Omg omg omg Colleen read my question omg colleeennn I love you you guys so so much thank you dearly long time fan since 2012
With any meal or candy, I always eat my least favorite item first and my favorite last so the after taste in your mouth is the best one 🤤 On a somewhat related note, I love actual grapes and peaches, but hate any grape or peach flavored candy or soda 😊 Love you guys! Fellow preemie twin mom here!
I always separated smarties. I ate the white ones last. They taste different.
Colleen!! I can't even explain how similar we are. Sorting skittles, the lucky charms, always wearing socks, beinh crafty, and the love of rocks!

I will still sort my candies by color but then I’ll eat one at a time from worst flavor to best so I always end on a high note 😂
Separating skittles and any colored candy is 100% normal…. Erik is the weird one here ❤
would you guys ever travel to europe together? an episode about your travels would be a banger! 😂
I find myself talking outloud in supermarkets etc, when I'm walking in public and it's really embarrassing. Talking outloud helps me process things
I would separate them into colors but I took it a step further. I had to make sure there was the same amount of each color.
I absolutely love orange juice with lots of pulp. 😂
Please post the footage. You can't do this to us!
would you guys visit Rancho-Grande again??? would love to see the twins enjoy the farm animals!!
I've been doing the solo, out loud "announcer" voice my entire life...especially when I spot something (on the floor) and am instantly afraid of it...until further investigation, when it turns out to be something innocuous like: "OH, MY GOD! ADHD kid and I absolutely did that with my skittles and every single food I ate and nothing could touch. I also have OCD, so there's that
I separate my skittles, m&ms, fruit snacks, starburst, etc!!! Colleen, you are not alone!!!
Love that you turned getting through the gate into announced sporting event. I have done similar. We have to amuse ourselves.
Petition for Mr Stocklin Sr to be on the podcast!😅
I'm definitely not ADHD and always have to save the best to eat last and separate my Skittles ❤
I too do that still to this day- rather every night as my midnight snack aka cookies-with my lucky charms. I also add sugar to eat the grams with so they don’t taste horrible. Is my guilty pleasure 💜

I separated my skittles and M&Ms and I also saved the marshmallows in my cereal for last!😂 I haven’t been diagnosed with ADHD but my brother has…so maybe I should look into that.
I just realized that this is episode 143, which is what my mom and I would say instead of I love you.
Absolutely NO to the pulp. Disgusting. It feels like drinking little bugs.
I talk to myself probably more than I talk to people! And out loud. Sometimes I catch myself doing it in public places like the grocery store and have to pray that people don’t think I’m bananas.

Wow, so much judgment toward pulp. I would die for pulp in orange juice - it's like a smoothie!
When my husband and I go hiking or do anything in the woods, we always find a “spider stick” and just wave it around in front of us lol it looks crazy but hey no webs in the face 😂

I was thinking the same thing lmfao.
I think Colleen is right... these things are common in all people, even when they don't have ADHD. Lol Erik is one person, just because he doesn't do it doesn't mean it's not normal. 😂
Colleen I DO THE SAME THING!!! I TALK TO MYSELF LIKE THIS AS WELL!!!! I SAW THE VIDEO ON YOUR VLOG!!! IT WAS HILARIOUS. THANK YOU FOR THIS
Erik’s dad has gotta come on the podcast.
Came here to say I'm Gen X and have been watching the documentary Brats. Erik has always reminded me of someone with his mannerisms. I finally figured out it is Andrew McCarthy in the 80s!
I definitely had the same exact bowls Erik described and used them for the same exact purpose
I saw a tiktok saying skittles actually are all the same flavor but but you see a color your mind thinks it actually tastes like the color it is.
