    May try this one,
    I have no issues installing the Daz to blender bridge, but..Poses do not work if I use for instance the content kneeling pose for daz 9 figures.
    the poses are totally screwed up.
    Some come in right if I pose myself.
    The version to be used is a messup, the blender bridge has one product, that isn´t described to what version it is, and that´s the only one that is there ( v.1)
    But some says its now version 2.4.0?? but no such to be found, and daz installer already says it´s installed ..even if I download it again.

      Sounds like it's probably capping on your ram, it did that to me as well when I first started on blender until I went from 8gb of ram to 32gb, there are a lot of materiels that get ported into Blender from Daz.
      One thing you could try for now is to not use materiel preview mode at all and just switch your render engine from Eevee to Cycles then use Render Preview, it might work better for you but it's not going to be real time like eevee would be, it'll be similar to Nvidia Iray in Daz.

    200th sub. Bro please make more videos. You are in line with what I am trying to do. This video was perfect g. The one thing idk how to do is bake the textures in blender after importing using diffemorphic. I have been trying to get my Daz studio character from blender to accurig to UE5. But the textures are always funky and it only exports the base textures. I read that baking the textures onto the character will help a lot with the consistency but I have been scrambling for days on so many tutorials looking for something diffeomorphic related and I haven’t found anything. Please make a video or please respond. This is so crazy lol

    should I go with the diffeomorphic add on or should I go with daztoblender bridge which one gives the best results

    • @3DFanatics
      @3DFanatics  ปีที่แล้ว

      They are both useful for different scenarios, I prefer Diffeomorphic but it won't bring in entire scenes / props like DTB can , however DTB has got a lot of downsides, it's inconsistencies are my biggest issue. The people who make Diffeomorphic put a lot more care and focus into it than Daz does for DTB and it shows. I'd still learn DTB if only to bring in props from Daz to Blender, you can get similar results exporting and importing yourself, just takes more work. DTB just adds ease of use to the equation.

      Hey, sorry for the late reply. This is actually going to be part of my next video, but all you have to do is select the clothing, then shift click the mesh so that it's the main selection. After that just select "Transfer Shape Keys" (should be under Morphs if memory serves right) in the diffeomorphic menu that you press N to open. The morphs should apply to the clothing now.

    • @3DFanatics
      @3DFanatics  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey, thanks for watching and sorry for the late reply. Strand based hair by default isn't compatible with blender, but a workaround that has seemed to work for me is to while in Daz select the strand based hair and under parameters go to "Line Tesselation" turn on "preview PR Hairs" and set "render line tesselation sides" to 2, then export it like normal and it should work. I haven't don't this in a while but it's how I have gotten it done, hope it helps!

    • @3DFanatics
      @3DFanatics  ปีที่แล้ว

      I'm using it on Blender 3.4.1 and it works fine, the one thing I would say to double check is that you're downloading the most recent version of diffeomorphic, older versions won't support past 2.9.
      Also, I'm using Windows 10 still, I'm not sure if there's any issues with it on windows 11, but I would imagine it'd be fine. Have you tried installing any other plug in to blender to see if that works?

    • @3DFanatics
      @3DFanatics  ปีที่แล้ว

      Oh also (I'm not home right now so I can't look for it myself to see what its called) but I do know that if you can't get the zip files to install then you can unzip the file and look for the actual plug in and just install that specifically, it's very rare that you ever have to do that though, I'm not sure what causes it, hope one of these helps you out

    • @stanStan60
      @stanStan60 ปีที่แล้ว

      I’m using 3.5. All diffeo add-ons work on that one. Try going into the folder where Blender installs it’s add-ons. It should be under the users / app roaming folder or something like that. Find it and delete it. Then boot blender and install it again. If it doesn’t work than it’s gotta be something with that version of blender.

    • @David_Fernandez
      @David_Fernandez ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I got it following your instructions in the posts below. Inside of Blender, in the addon "import action" and choosing the file, but then the figure that I have imported, must be in neutral pose. So the animation cannot be applied directly into the figure imported from my Daz project. Thanks again!

    • @3DFanatics
      @3DFanatics  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I'm glad you got it figured out! But yeah you just want to make sure you have the models pose zeroed out when you send them to Blender, easiest way to do that is (and you can save your pose first) select your model and go to edit>figure>zero>zero figure pose and it will automatically zero out the pose of your figure, then once you bring them into blender you can use diffeomorphic to import the saved pose and animations!

    Hey man ! I got a question about importing the characters to blender. So I installed the diffeomorphic add on and choose like the genesis 8 male model, so then when I imported it to blender and zoomed in, there are a lot of black pixels all over the body and around it, that stay on my screen after zooming out and in. It’s not laggy or anything but I can’t see the model with all that black thing there. Do you know what’s the problem maybe ?

    • @3DFanatics
      @3DFanatics  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hm, I'm not sure, I haven't had that issue before. Does your character have any modifications with skin, or geoshells? Or is just the base Gen 8 model? If it is just the base model then it seems like a bug, may have to try reinstalling, something probably went wrong, also make sure you're using the most recent version.

  • @michaelhighsmith4907

    Incredible tutorial thank you and I'm looking forward to others. I imported successfully but encountered two issues:
    1. My character's hair did not come through and I received the warning 'Some assets were not found. Check that all Daz paths have been set up correctly'
    2. I made a simple animation (just moving a character arm to test) and that did not come through at all. No error displayed for that.
    Do you know if there are other actions I need to take to enable animation import/exporting or for specific assets?

    • @3DFanatics
      @3DFanatics  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Are you trying to make an animation in Blender, or import an animation from daz? As far as making an animation it should be fairly simply, just make sure you're in pose mode with the rig selected and move the bones and set key frames on the timeline. If you're looking to import animations from Daz you would select the "import action" button under "posing" choose the animation and set the frame rate and first/last frames to match the animation in Daz, hit "Import Action" and it should add it to your timeline in Blender.

      The Daz to Blender Bridge has been around for a while, but honestly, I prefer diffeomorphic cause it's more consistent, updated and added onto regularly.
      On the note of more videos, a lot has happened in my life since then from covid - multiple surgeries - suddenly taking in a new baby and my priorities had shifted for a while.
      The next video I planned on making was on animation to and from blender and soft body simulations, hopefully soon I'll have enough free time to get back into this.

      @@3DFanatics sorry to hear about the surgeries! Happy to hear about a new human being arriving! And even happier to hear that there will be more content like this. I dug Daz back out because I have a project coming up that might benefit from me being up to date. • @honerablemention4550

      I think this is because of the daz paths not being set up correctly, happened to me as well a while back and I corrected it by putting the folders where they belong (at least I think that's what fixed it), data inside data folder, textures in the texture folder etc.

    • @3DFanatics

    Great job on this! It was very easy to follow. I was expecting that I would need to spend quite a bit of time trying to get my first transfer done, but this only took an hour. Looking forward to more!
    One thing I noticed was that in the import-daz-paths.json file, there were a few paths that actually don't exist on my system. I didn't see them in the Global Settings in Blender after the import, so it may just be something to ignore.
    In the following section, the first one exists, but the other two do not.
    "builtin_mdl": [
    "C:/Daz3D/DAZ 3D/DAZStudio4/shaders/iray",
    "C:/Users/xxxxx/AppData/Roaming/DAZ 3D/Studio4/shaders/iray",
    "C:/Users/xxxxx/AppData/Roaming/DAZ 3D/Studio4/temp/shaders/iray"
    ],

    • @3DFanatics
      @3DFanatics  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Im not sure why this happens sometimes, but what I've done to fix this in the past is to just move the items you're transferring into your content library where non daz store items would go.
      Just find the item in your "Products" folder and right click then select "browse to folder location" and drag the files into your "my library" folder and they should place automatically where they need to go. Right click your "my library folder" and hit refresh and that should fix the issue.
