    You also missed a couple factors for under fueling too….when you get a vsc or safety car it’s a boost…on top of the fact you run engine lower which gives less wear and tear…so helps with engine power over a bunch of races and helps you use less engines per year to save the 5 mil per car .

      It also depends on the track. Underfuelling in Imola is a loss. Corner heavy and balanced tracks underfuel is OP. If it's a fast, straight heavy track then pushing the engine is better.

    As a back marker team not really chasing results I find under fuelling by 4-5 laps not only gives better times, but has the added bonus of reduced engine wear from being on conservative fuel for longer. When money is tight, having to buy replacement engines at the end of season can be what fires you.

    I always underfuel to the max with both drivers. Run conserve on the Mercedes engine and got fuel enough to push at the end of the majority of GPs. Its very op. Helps with wear and the engine life increases a bit. Also I dont need to look for engine cooling when researching or designing a part, since I run conserve for like 90% of the race.
    Another point is that I actually push the engine in a few moments to get overtakes or run away from people and it doesnt even makes a diference in saving enough fuel to get to the end.
    It is very OP. And Frontier might actually should’ve look into that to the next games, making it more challenging perhaps.

    Something you may want to look into is aggression and how it impacts expectations. Pourchaire has low aggression and is okay with my car's peformance, but Vesti has high aggression and is complaining about my car's performance. Very anecdotal, but could be something.

    It’s the safety car effect for me. I generally under fuel about 10% by weight with a Mercedes engine and it’s working fine. But when I get a safety car I’m less overweight with the lighter starting weight, I haven’t experimented with how different it is but even full 3 dot engine running rarely burns it off after an SC/Red Flag.

    I understand therei is a weight penalty to a cars lap time, with extra fuel this is very noticiable in qualify, but honestly, there have few cases even in the other f1 manager games where i felt underfueling has made any real noticiable difference, In-fact more races I over fuel'd 2-3 laps and enjoy'd the longer attack fuel setting that allowed me to catch and overtake cars alot easier. Feels like i gain more time pushing heavy on fuel than balance/conserve coasting while underfueld. Feel like your shooting your self in the foot hoping to have much better time but. i feel like i'm offsetting the weight penalty both in terms of pace and burning off excess said fuel as i go, with the cost of potentially overheating the engine.
    However, i'm driving in a bit of a midfield team at the moment with mercedes. Of course, this years manager, you can overheat your engine so you can't just full tilt the whole race like prevous f1 manager games.
    I have noticed with Fuel consumption for engine suppliers does mean depending on your engine you cars starting fuel may more less be heavy. With Mercedes being the heaviest on fuel is going to be heavy anyway. While renault cars don't need as much fuel for a given race thus start lightweight. F1 cars can hold a max of 110Kg of weight regardless, some tracks may notice you are already near the max or even on the max limit anyway especially with Mercedes engine.
    I would like to see this repeated but with overfuel and pushing as long as you can without overheatinig to a fault compared to same race while balance/conserve underfuel and see overall race time.

    • @cartorius
      @cartorius 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I use to over fuel as welll, here's some things I learned. whatever allows you to keep your "pace" up is ideal. but there's also a weight advantage to under fueling that gives you pace. the Ai dumps fuel at the begining of the race and will run full throtle on tires for the first lap or two to aquire that weight reduction from running negative fuel. they only do it for a single lap in sprints. this points out that there is a significant advantage to weighing less as it gives you acceleration. when I over fueled to push longer or harder I noticed in those first two laps I struggled to keep pace due to the weight so it actually just caused me to wear my engine more than if I reversed the process and ran negative. at some point you are going to end up in a groupping where your car "belongs" based on pace, for me it's just about being ahead of that pack so I burn fuel like a mad man just like the Ai does in the open, and then once my position is established I gradually conserve fuel while I'm ahead of the pack and if they get into DRS I pump up the pace. the biggest problem you can have in this game is someone getting DRS on you... once that happens you can forget about all the work you did it all goes out the window..

    • @cartorius
      @cartorius 4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      it's not REALLY a good idea.. but it is at the same time.. running lower fuel gives you a weight reduction which means you get more acceleration thats not accounted for. the Ai runs hot and goes negative on the fuel in the first few laps to gain that weight reduction. but then they use pace balancing as they race. if you run extreamly low fuel and conserve the entire race by the end of the race, if there was no safety cars or red flags, you would basically pace out nuteral. the best you can hope for in this strat is start on softs, have the weight reduction benifit run at full pace gaining a massive lead and then before your first 20 laps are concluded you get a red flag allowing you to get a free pit stop and refuel.

  • @owlsane0036
    @owlsane0036 4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

    From what i've seen by underfueling is that the loss your drivers gets doing lift and coast is completely negated by the benefits of the car being less draggy. So much so that my drivers car pass somebody on a straight without DRS or with DRS even when there's a DRS train. In comparison when i overfuel and put the fuel usage on push, the drivers are able to overtake only when they benefit from DRS. Also less engine wear.

  • @cartorius
    @cartorius 4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

    Renault engines having "fuel efficiency" from my testing has more or less shown to burn fuel in full push a lot slower than the others. from start and in full push ( tires,Fuel,ERS standard ) you reach a negative 1.8 in fuel many laps later than you would otherwise. you lose a LOT of acceleration and top speed as a result. generally speaking, for me it changes your design path. instead of focusing on cornering, you might want to bring up your top speed and DRS to compinsate for the power loss.
    running severelly underfueled might be a viable strat for Renult where you can build parts with weight reduction and stack that early with the weight loss from fuel to gain more acceleration, pair that with safety cars and a late red flag and you come out looking like a pro, however that's based that you don't change your pace to compinsate on your fuel.. just run it like a mad man and hope you get a red flag by lap 30. ether you win big or run out of gas.

  • @Bannerlordfor
    @Bannerlordfor 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

    And hoenstly underfueling is even stronger than seen in this video as you can very easily netate the fuel deficit.
    Firstly because unless it's a cold day, I run conserve anyways so I don't cook my powertrain.
    Additionally you always get the fuel back when a VSC/SC/red flag happens anyways, but you got the benefit of early pace.
    Also in the instances where there is no SC and your engine is fine on temp, you can run conserve under DRS of another car to mitigate the pace loss.

    How many more games in the series will be released before the developers fix the jumping gaps in the schedule of intervals between pilots? Then 17 seconds of separation, then suddenly 8 then 2 and again 17. If you write reports, maybe remind them of this?
    It was not bad to also capture the sharp maneuvers of the pilots when overtaking other cars.
    And also sharp accelerations: at first they ride at the same pace as your racers (in +/- identical cars) and then go 2.5 seconds per lap. Rave

    if you end the race with 0.0 or 0.1 and got there underfueling who cares. in my mind micro managing power output is takig away from the drivers and more importantly decreased engine temp for a race which is lovely

    i have been using minimum fuel with all the engines with low engine usage and even with mercedes having the lowest fuel efficiency, i can get to the end of the race with enough fuel. The only thing i wish they did is instead of KG for the fuel,it would be laps of fuel like it used to be. also the engine temp is easier to handle when you run conserve all the time.
