I have moved Wolves this way but have yet to try Boar, a thing I found useful for the wolf army move (or even just the 1-2 wolf move) if you have a friend that plays, have the friend in the boat, do the walk the plank method, and have the friend get the wolf to follow as soon as they fall in the boat. that way they stay in the boat with your friend while you push more wolves in / move the boat. still not 100% but is much easier.
I know it's been a while but I thought I would mention that the only boars you can push since Hearth and Home update are the no star boars. The method I used to move my 1 star boars ( havent found 2 star yet ) was creating a narrow corridor of fencing and holding a torch. Boars are afraid of fire and will run a ways down the corridor. You may have to block the passage at some points if it is a long passage but it is pretty easy to get them where you want.

yea even without agro and without jumping my wolf still ended up in the ocean -_- one second we were with the boat the other min poof they 'floated' over the end of the boat and into the ocean O_O did this 2 days ago with my mate , luckely we were allmost at land and they were following me but if it was a boar we losted it for no reason at all ! looked like the game was a bit glitchy idk what happened
The yeet is hilarious 😂😂 but playing on Xbox, we did this method and it was smooth until we were sailing and the 2 star boar just fell through the ship 🤦🏻♂️ I give up.
I tried using the boat twice for transporting boars (i wasn't in the mountains yet) and both times my boar glitched out of my boat and got killed by the boat. I used the longship both times and was only in paddle speed and nothing was there to agro my boars. They just glitched out and wasted my time. Btw, both were 1 star since i found no 2 stars
I think just going on the ocean is the best just sail the route you want to take your wolves first without them. then if a serpent spawns kill it then you should have a 17 minute window before a new one spawns right?
here is a easyer way just build a portal from your new base to your old one is at with the wolfs. then all you need to do to get moe meat jsut jump back and fourth when you need more food. but if you need your wolfs for figthing then you do need to do it like her says in this video.
i really really wish i could have a lox at my meadows base, but its too hard to transport lox. (they don't follow you, and they run back to the spot they spawned) :(
Lox are easy to transport if you are with another player. Just have one ride it and it'll go nowhere. Otherwise, you just need to make sure you don't come across the serpent.

I saw something about turning pvp on and using the abyssal harpoon to drag them. this is if you don't consider this cheating.

Use some food to mowe the boar (put it down and take it away before he eats it). The boar will go after food.
What to do if the boar jumps from a carve without any reason?
How about we just let theme portal with you… or are the wolves made of iron

Boars are the worst ones... they are running, panicking or sliding off the boat... Lox is the easiest...
Too bad you can’t harpoon tamed animals now.
TLDR; you can harpoon boards to leash them on land and you can put both wolves and boars on boats.
