Well said Dave. Folks, he is absolutely RIGHT!! This man is the reason i swing the E-Trac today. 5+ yrs now. And i use the same settings also. Since 2010 my silver coin count is 785. Not counting numerous sterling items, old nickles, indians.. Very good info bud.
Thank You for watching and commenting Sir . Those are the Basic settings I always start out with . But will change it up with a tweek now and then . I get more depth from my E-Trac . Then I have with any other Detector brand , and I have used all the major brands . Number 2 for depth is my Deus just a half to 3/4 inch difference . But I can swing the Deus much faster . While you really have to slow down to get the best depth from the E-Trac .
I bought the E-Trac three months ago as a major upgrade to the White's Coinmaster my Grandfather handed down to me. I knew this was the top detector for what I was looking to do and I ponyed up the bucks to get it. But, I have not for the life been able to figure it out. Its been beyond frustrating. I've almost decided to give the hobby up altogether. As a long-time subscriber to your videos, I was very happy to find a recent video with your settings. I can't wait to try these and see if my results can improve. Thanks!
ScarletBandit19 the biggest help for me on the E Track was learning the multi tones at first it's so confusing but after you find Targets with the multi tone it changes the whole etrac mindset feels like a laser looking for stuff
Thanks for the video, I'm thinking of getting the Etrac as I now run a Safari and I've heard about all these different programs you can run....I'm now starting to get an understanding of all the programs.....that was short and easy to understand....Thanks again, Best of luck and HH.
Blind old guy, lol All makes sense and when you break it down into the expert settings provided the user understands what each setting does then the etrac isn't quite as hard to learn as people think. I find auto +3 sensitivity is good enough for most of my hunts but when I get into a really quiet pasture I will go manual and generally run at 27-28 before it chatters. GL&HH
I do too. But I was not about to start going over when and why I use Manual sensitivity . It would have been 4 minutes longer . I think the guys that asked for my settings will be happy with the info I gave . After I uploaded . I had an hour and half . I went detecting , and half way threw I switched to Manual 27...Even though my auto was at 25 with +3. I videoed , but did not explain much . Except (Sometimes I go to hunting in manual !) LOL.... Thanks for watching , liking and commenting on my videos Richard . I much appreciate it .
***** No worries, man. We use pretty much the same settings when we hunt. My threshold is set a little lower but that is just a preference and my audio is always on 4 tone ferrous which hardly anyone seems to use. I find that splits the signals into dig / don't dig easier for me as I run with very little discrimination so the audio does the discriminating. Great that it can be tweaked for each user as there are loads of different ways for success. GL&HH
Screw caps , or old rusty Iron Bottle caps ?....I only occasionally dig the iron ones. But do still dig the aluminum screw ones, as they will fool any detector .
Thanks for your comment James . Sometimes when I am in an open area , with not a lot of targets . I will open it up in manual . But I just keep tweaking the settings till I can hear the targets better .
Awesome! Thanks Dave! Going out in a couple of hours and will try your settings! One thing to try is long audio in trashy spots as the coins sing for longer and you find more! E.D
True ED ...But so does bent rusty nails , and some bottle caps...Man they sound great in long. But then again they sound good in any response ...LOL ...Thank you for your comment . I'll have to give long response another go .
Thank you Karla . You will have your Pin Pointer early in the week . As well as something for your old man . Don't know if you got my message or not . Thank you for watching , and for your sweet comment too .
the internet is bad out here camping so i will get everything watched and looked at when i get home, i seam to be able to answer here just fine but nothing else works worth a dark chat at ya later have a fabulous day
Great video my friend . I'm Just not having as much luck with the E-Trac as i am with the F2 and the ATPro . Thanks for the tips on the settings . Best wishes GL&HH.
Great info Dave. I think some folks use so much discrimination they're walking right over good targets because they're getting masked. I use a program alot like that. I keep 0-27 open. The only other thing I disc is part of the very top line (01-01 thru 01-30). I think coming from a Whites machine I was used to disc'ing out stuff like that to knock out iron wrap around. I may try opening that section though. Thanks for the tips.
Very helpful. Thanks. I am going to try your pattern - right now I have a lot of the coin pattern in play in the nickel range, going to open that up and see if it helps me find more silver. Anything helps.
Thank you for watching , liking , and commenting on my video MNetrac . I'd open the Nickel FE from 0-27 ....But nothing else past 22/23...Just me though .
forest stinnett Yes ... I told everyone I moved to this channel (It was because I could not use the same email for both and since I got so much spam with the other email addy . I rarely check it ...Or the 219erman channel)
I run my Explorer pretty much open with slight disc in nails. IM in AM. The E-trac has some features I wish they would of added to the Explorer series. The sensitivity and both screens in one are the biggest two for me. Maybe one day I'll run across a good deal on an E-trac and pick it up. Oddly I have no desire for the 3030. Just something about it doesn't appeal to me.
The Explorer is still a great detector . The Etrac has a faster processor , and CTX has even a slightly faster processor . But all will get the same depth . Just the CTX & ET have a faster swing speed. The CTX & ET can be swung at a faster speed than the Explorer by maybe one second or so . I also own the CTX . But will be selling it SOON .
I like the big numbers too Keith . Most of the time that I look at the screen . Is only to look at the depth . As I am just listening for high tones and looking at the depth bar . But I get a strong high tone even surface , and it's a 45 or+ conductive . I bend & dig it . I don't want to have to squint , or put on my glasses to have to see what's on the screen ...LOL...Thanks for watching Keith
You can have them both on at the same time , and I did run mine like that for about two years . But it does not seem to give the benefit of both & seems like the tones suffer with them both on . Now I just use Fast on while in a trashy area . And deep on when in a non-trashy area , but I swing slowly in both conditions . You have to swing slow in a trashy area w/Fast on , in order to give the etrac a chance to re-set after a target & before the next . And you have to swing slowly in an open area (Using deep on) to get the best depth . Hoped that helps some .

Thanks for your kind comment , and good luck with your Etrac . I know you will like it

Thanks Dave, I sometimes forget to change the settings on my e-Trac from site to site. This is a good reminder
Thank you for watching my video Coinazoid

I own an Etrac , CTX 3030 , and an XP Deus . I prefer the Etrac . Thanks for watching and commenting .

Great tips, Dave! One thing I STILL have problems with is bottle caps. You'd think that in this day and age, all of them would be dug up by now!
Screw caps , or old rusty Iron Bottle caps ?....I only occasionally dig the iron ones. But do still dig the aluminum screw ones, as they will fool any detector .
Nice video, will come in handy in some of those noisy sites. The auto +3 definitely helps clean up iffy targets.
Thanks for your comment James . Sometimes when I am in an open area , with not a lot of targets . I will open it up in manual . But I just keep tweaking the settings till I can hear the targets better .
Thanks just bought a used Etrac and needed a good tutorial on the settings 😊

Pretty good advice in this video Dave. I tend to favor channels 11, 9, and 2. Depending on how mineralized the ground is. Best wishes and HH, Dave.
7,9,11, and 3 here. Thx for watching Dave

Metal4Detecting Did things get better with your etrac? I'm in the same boat as you were.
Nice video Dave. I use a Safari so it doesn't have a lot of setting. Eventually I probably will have to get an e-trac.
Don't give up your Safari quite yet . You are used to it , and are doing well with it . Thanks for commenting Tommy .
Great info Dave. I think some folks use so much discrimination they're walking right over good targets because they're getting masked. I use a program alot like that. I keep 0-27 open. I get quite a few silver with 01 FE #'s . A lot of people miss them , because they use too much disc I agree. Thanks for your comment , and watching .

I can't believe someone would give you a thumbs down. Good video I know what you mean by being blind. Forrest GL & HH
Yeah Forrest . I get one or 2 haters on a lot of my videos . I'll take it as a sign of success LOL... I NEED BIG Numbers AND LOUD SOUNDS ,,,,LOL
Did you use to go by 219er man
forest stinnett Yes ... I told everyone I moved to this channel (It was because I could not use the same email for both and since I got so much spam with the other email addy . I rarely check it ...Or the 219erman channel)

Thank you for watching , liking , and commenting Greg . I do appreciate it .
I've always set mine on ground difficult, if I have good ground and set to ground neutral will I get better depth?
Nice. Question my etracnlets me have both deep and fast on at the same time..does yours becausemyou stated they have to be changed together
