Minelab ETRAC "WORLD'S HOTTEST For SILVER COINS" Do This, Here's Why! TOP 3 Reasons MASTER Detector

  • Top 3 Vital Settings that make the Minelab ETRAC a Silver Coin Killer; THE WORLD'S HOTTEST Metal Detector For SILVER COINS!
    You need to do this, here is why:
    1. Threshold Pitch (increases tonal differential amongst 50 conductivity notches) The higher you can program the tonal pitch of targets, the better you can hear and differentiate between high signalling copper pennies and high signalling silver dimes (this will be most helpful for our community detectorists in the US where regular dimes signal high with silver dimes. In Canada, the pennies signal high with the silver dimes. What the threshold pitch does when you maximize it, is put further tonal difference between these very close but completely different targets. The less pennies and regular clad you dig, the more time you will have on your hands to swing for silver coins.
    2. Low Noise Cancel Setting (1 maintains the lowest possible frequency @ 1.5 KHZ)
    Forget the Automatic Noise Cancel setting, and set it manually to “1”. A “1” noise cancel setting maintains the lowest operating frequency of the ETRAC. If you auto set the noise cancel and the ETRAC sets it at a block 9, you lost the lowest operating frequency which is what will provide you with the best and quickest response to silver coins.
    3. Fine Tuned Ferrous & Conductivity Discrimination Settings (754 Target ID’s)
    There is no other consumer metal detector on the market that has this ability! Silver Quarters and Bottlecaps…many detectors are renowned for being unable to accurately differentiate the difference between the 2, especially with DD coils! 95% of detectors on the market focus ONLY on the conductivity of a target. Some detectors have a thing called iron audio, which gives the operator a slight chance to hear any iron in a conductive target. The ETRAC has a massive amount of finely tuned ability to provide BOTH the conductivity numbers of the Silver Quarter & Bottlecap, but the ETRAC also will tell you HOW MUCH iron is also in the target. I cannot even recall the last time I dug a bottlecap. The ETRAC doesn’t “grunt” over iron, it eliminates it, and I don’t need to hear it! Do you? Do you want to hear an iron grunt and decide whether you want to dig the target or not, or do you want the detector to do all that work for you and just let you know when there is silver in the ground?

    The minelab explorer 2 is one point five khz to one hundred khz, I manually set the noise cancel instead of using the automatic settings, it's good for silver coins and items, it's good for gold coins,rings etc, it may not be an ETRAQ or equinox or Deus but it's a reliable and methodical detector when it's set up properly, it's taken me years getting to understand this machine and I've never regretted buying it, it does what I want it to do , my advice for anybody is go slow with your swing and keep it low to the ground ,happy hunting all of you out there

      I've heard nothing but good reports on the minelab's explorer 2, and almost bought a used one. Instead I purchased a new E-trac and use it nearly all the time. I use my NOX 800 at the beach.

      The explorer II is a killer machine!
      People shy away from it because of the technology that’s out there today but I’m here to tell you the explorer will find anything that these modern detectors will find and I would guarantee it.
      I kick myself in the can every time I think about the ones that I sold. I wish I still had one.

    I picked up an Etrac years ago and never really had the chance to learn the device well enough to do much. I was coming from an old Whites 5900 Di Pro and traveled a lot so time was just not there. I did venture out and bought an Equinox and have used it more often especially on multiple trips to the beach. Kids are now gone and not traveling so more time and really want to get to know and use the Etrac. Late but never too late to learn and really like your videos.

      The ETRAC is awesome hands down. I personally cannot get use to using any machine that offers just that one conductive discriminate scale...the ETRAC has 2...conductive and ferrous...together they are still unbeatable even today! You will dig a lot less trash, and the pattern and settings that I have been using day in and day out...I rarely dig trash...the dual disc system takes all the guess work out of it...if you set it up correctly that is. Appreciate the kind words and your bit of a story - GL & HH Jason

    I've dug 41 Spanish Silver Reale dating between 1556-1789 most in the 1600s here in St Augustine Florida in 450 yr old sites loaded with unbelievable amounts of iron from 100s of years of reoccupation, I use pretty much the same set up but due to the overwhelming amount of iron I open my screen up and just listen through the iron, it's the only way to work in the extreme iron.

    The etrac is my favorite machine.. I have a ctx 3030 and don’t like it as much. The etrac has better audio especially for high conductors.. I thought when I bought the ctx that my etrac would be a dust collector but it’s the other way around. Minelab dropped the ball when they failed to put variability and limits option in the audio. Also seems like etrac’s tones reflect the shape or simatry of a target where as the ctx seems to assign a generic or overly didgetized audio response.

    Odd, as Tesoros were killer on silver and most of them were around 10.5KHz. Low frequency is good for iron which is why the Fisher machines at 4.7KHz were deep, but loved iron.

      A great discrimination system is good for iron too 😁 I had a Tesoro Cibola...simple machine with turn knob discrimination. I quite liked it except it didn't have the abilities to really seperate the silver from the pennies. I used it for pretty much a dig all unit and I dug a lot of clad. I sold it with the 10x12 SEF coil and spent all the clad.

    Okay, on the noise cancel. One video you say set it to 11, on another you say set it to 9 and now on this one it is 1. So, does it really matter?

    • @Diggin4LifeMetalDetecting
      @Diggin4LifeMetalDetecting  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Great point and I am aware of this discrepancy. What I believe you are referencing in regards to the "11" & "9" Noise Cancel settings, is that they revolve around the 6x8 SEF coil ONLY, which is the smallest searchcoil in my arsenal. Even so the Noise Cancel setting at "1" retains the lowest detection frequencies from a technical prospective, there seemed to be some unknown disconnect between the 6x8 SEF and the ETRAC where this is concerned. Now in regards to the stock coil and the larger coils on the ETRAC, the Noise Cancel at "1" hits small silver better and deeper than all of the other Noise Cancel Settings. Since these tests were completed, I use the 6x8 SEF on less than 1% of my digs because I lack the confidence with it. Hope this helps & thank you for the support Steve and these great questions! Cheers & HH - J

  • @artalamoc
    @artalamoc 4 ปีที่แล้ว

    How do I set my noise cancel at 1.5 kilohertz, are you saying when you turn on the detector for the first time, it will be set at 1.5 kilohertz?

    • @Diggin4LifeMetalDetecting
      @Diggin4LifeMetalDetecting  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Set it at 1 HYS. As soon as you start moving up the noise cancel ladder number wise, you start eliminating your lowest frequencies. When you turn your ETRAC on thereafter, it will be set at 1. Remember, noise cancel has to be able to work at 1...that is determined based on how quiet your detector will stay after you set it. If it chatters or is unstable, you may need resort to doing an automatic noise cancel instead. To find out IF its the noise cancel causing instability, lower your sensitivity to 15 and raise the coil in the air and hold it still. If your detector chatters etc, then go ahead and proceed with an auto noise cancel. When the process is completed, start to increase your sensitivity back up again while maintaining your detector as chatter free. Hope this helps. GL & HH

    • @artalamoc
      @artalamoc 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@Diggin4LifeMetalDetecting Are you saying go to Menu Setting then move over to the Expert column then go down to Noise Cancel and set it there to 1 (1.5)? I thought this unit was shooting 28 frequencies all at the same time, and since the noise cancel only has 11 (eleven) setting, I thought the noise cancel had nothing todo with Frequencies.

    • @Diggin4LifeMetalDetecting
      @Diggin4LifeMetalDetecting  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      What automatic noise cancel does is start to eliminate potential interference frequencies that are in a given area (in the environment). Every noise cancel channel (1 through to 11) represents a certain or group of frequencies that would potentially conflict with interference frequencies that are in the environment (in the air) that you plan on searching. The last thing you want to do to aid in less responsiveness to silver; especially DEEP silver, is to eliminate the lowest possible detection frequencies on your ETRAC (1.5). Check your manual, and MANUALLY set the noise cancel on your ETRAC at 1! I have never heard of anyone having instability using this setting. Make sure your sensitivity is in manual and is at a stable setting as well. Detector instability is 99% of the time the result of setting your manual sensitivity too high. Hope this helps.
