The title of this video is how to do a brittleness test. I was watching and you explain how the insurance companies do it improperly but you never showed how to properly do the test and how to tell if it passes or fails the test.
Be sure to check out our video on how to conduct repairability test.
That should help!
Welcome to my world as a adjuster, they all talk a big game then nothing. He never showed us how to really do his verson of a Brittle test.....
@@Rescueranger141 I think the point was that you need to test all the surrounding shingles, and not just the broken one, because you will have to bend them to make a repair. If the surrounding shingles are brittle, you can't fix the roof by replacing one damaged shingle.
@@Rescueranger141 he explained it fine. You need to simulate a shingle replacement. If any touched shingle becomes damaged when replacing a shingle, it will destroy the whole roof if you try to replace one
I’ve got 50 on a roof and farmers just wants to pay for them to repair it. It’s a nonrepairable
That is absolutely not how you do this. Please take this video down as what you just created a vandalism claim. I am licensed adjuster in 8 different states and you just broke the law on a homeowners roof. No body should ever take this person's advice
can you link me to the proper way?
There is actually no standardized test for a BT. If you’re an adjuster you know this because you took a lame 3 day HAAG course. Let’s all be honest here…most adjusters don’t know shit about roofing.
Seems that this "test" is temperature dependent.
Just call state farm. They will come out and take a look and give you a professional opinion that matters.
LOL I came here from that video
and state farm wont help you at all, you can 50 creased shingles and theyll say we can replace them, worst ins company there is
It's unfortunate that you believe this. If you ask a guy who owes you $20,000 how much he owes you because you're not sure, what do you think he'd say?
this is a joke, SF sucks and they are not on the customer side
Wtf did i just watch? How do i get my 3 minutes back.
Drone, caulk, and bristle test....
⚠️
Nice gloves. I buy the same ones best bang for your buck in my opinion
they are great!
@@hailorhighwaterroofing What type of gloves are they? I go through so many chalking roofs lol
Great video
Great video.
Glad you enjoyed it
Please remember that insurance covers peril related COLS . Not wear and tear or deterioration. I work for Statefarm and some of the insured roof are from wear and tear and comes from them not replacing or taking care of their roof over a period of time. We don’t cover anything that’s not in the policy
Thank you for watching!
You guys don't cover jack anymore. Statefarm has went straight to con men.
state farm pays for all this advertising, Jake, now arnold the terminator, and the SB a few years ago, SF sux, when a customer says they have SF I tell them to change ins company asap, because SF sux, its true and you the adjuster knows it
State farm is a scam. They don't pay out anything. Allstate is even worse. I don't see how people even sign up with them.
What the chalk for
what
Looks like he used his fist to puncture a hole in the shingle. He could do this to many other shingles, without your knowledge, and your roof is totaled. Careful who you allow on your roof.
Thank you for the input.
From what I can see, they were going to replace the roof (see the video on repairability testing). These shingles were brittle and needed to all be replaced.
