3 tips for making the job easier: 1. No need to remove the metal clip on the sensor wiring...just push in the center and the connector will release. 2. Stuff a rag under the sensor bolts into the lower cover. That way when you remove the 2 bolts, if they fall off the socket, which they will, the rag will catch the bolt. Otherwise you have to remove all the accessory belts, engine mount, and crank pulley to remove the lower cover to get the fallen bolt(s) out. Otherwise the dropped bolt will destroy your timing belt. 3. There's a single bracket on the AC line that can be removed to create a lot more room to negotiate getting the timing belt cover off and back on. Cheers.
It was a little harder to take off the plastic cover than I expected, all-in-all this was a great tutorial for this make and model, I swapped my sensor out in about 45 minutes. The sensor light went off about 10 minutes after I started the engine.
Hello, I have a problem with my Aveo, every once in a while after a drive to the store or so, my check engine light turns on and I have very poor fuel economy, poor acceleration. I scanned it and the code for the camshaft sensor popped up, do you think this is the problem ?
