Matt, I spent 3 days doing a cave rescue course about 2 years ago. Some of the hardest rescues I’ve ever trained for. The basic planning was for every minute a person walks / climbs into a cave system, times that by 10 to rescue them.
I took a similar course in the 90’s in Alabama and it took an entire day to rescue our simulated injured victim. It made me take caving safety as serious as a person could take it.

I dont really think this has anything to do with claustrophobia. Its just common sense to avoid stuff like this, claustrophobia would be being scared of being in an elevator for example
As a 6’5” 280lb man, I’m jealous of people being able to do this bc it does look like a beautiful thing to experience I also like how Dr. Vet can’t identify the animal bones 😂
Good idea for all the smaller liability caves on the property get down there with some high-quality lights and cameras and get pictures of anything that’s cool looking and fence off right around the hole and put big old boards with the pics like national park style for people to look at when they come to the resort
I love these guys I’m a Kentucky native and they’re just like me and my friends were about climbing and exploring the mountains, in my teens and 20’s we hiked every trail and climbed all over Kentucky and I still haven’t been anywhere as beautiful as Appalachia
How cool it it to have so many caves on your property!!!! I've had several pieces of property in the Texas Hill Country and no caves....I somehow feel like I got screwed.
That place gets more and more interesting. If you're not careful, you'll end up with a real attraction with something for everyone. Keep up the good work, I'm glad Mikey survived.
Hey Matt... trailer guy's wife said that he was not allowed to travel to hotrod meets *alone*. You just KNOW what you gotta do when you get back...#1 last ride...maybe, hotrod trailer guy could even become a regular fixture even? 🤔
Hey Matt, don’t you worry for a minute how easily that cave climber came out. I know he’s got a little bit more practice, but that’s not the story that you want to tell is that you and Mikey just know how important content is for your TH-cam channel and the two of you make it look all the more interestingand more challenging which excites us even more that’s why we keep coming back because you know how to provide us with content. Job well done.❤
That cave was very cool. This access system could have been improved. That twin line anchor is not great, also if they had rigged for rescue the tail up top on the unused side of the alpine could have, with a better primary anchor, been reanchored and used as a back up in a 3:1 for emergency haul or even been dropped as a second line to get to Mikey. Anyway Matt you keep finding these little gems on your property. Look forward to seeing your high ropes course set up.
I was thinking maybe have people who come to the resort sign a waiver upon arrival letting the guest know there are caves on the property and guest are not permitted to enter the caves. Desperado is not responsible for any cave injuries, if you can find the caves
The different teams that are present are strong and bulky, and strong and slim. It's wild what different ppl can do with the body they have! I love it!
There’s a balance Matt has no experience, but he has a guide leading him. The cave boys are experienced but also willing explore unexplored caves for fun.

I agree! I am seriously claustrophobic and watching this makes me very nervous! I have even had to stop watching 🤔😳😄
@@chaosseat Whatever you say keyboard tough guy. 😂
I dont really think this has anything to do with claustrophobia. Its just common sense to avoid stuff like this, claustrophobia would be being scared of being in an elevator for example
@@guupie1 Claustrophobia is the fear of confined spaces. The type of confined space is irrelevant.
As a 6’5” 280lb man, I’m jealous of people being able to do this bc it does look like a beautiful thing to experience
I also like how Dr. Vet can’t identify the animal bones 😂
Good idea for all the smaller liability caves on the property get down there with some high-quality lights and cameras and get pictures of anything that’s cool looking and fence off right around the hole and put big old boards with the pics like national park style for people to look at when they come to the resort
One hour episode!!!! Finally 🎉❤
I love these guys I’m a Kentucky native and they’re just like me and my friends were about climbing and exploring the mountains, in my teens and 20’s we hiked every trail and climbed all over Kentucky and I still haven’t been anywhere as beautiful as Appalachia
Texas Trailers could make a Demo-Sporado Ranch enclosed trailer, maybe yes? Maybe?
When I tell you how high my anxiety was while watching this but at the same time loved it too!!! I'm 6'2 and can imagine how tight it is for you 😅
Just imagine the SimpliSafe worker that gets to watch Matt in his house through the cameras 24 hours a day LOL
It's just a sponsorship. I'm sure they're just props and he has an actual security system.
How cool it it to have so many caves on your property!!!!
I've had several pieces of property in the Texas Hill Country and no caves....I somehow feel like I got screwed.
"You guys are crazy"
...as he himself is descending into the abyss
That place gets more and more interesting. If you're not careful, you'll end up with a real attraction with something for everyone.
Keep up the good work, I'm glad Mikey survived.
Hey Matt... trailer guy's wife said that he was not allowed to travel to hotrod meets *alone*.
You just KNOW what you gotta do when you get back...#1 last ride...maybe, hotrod trailer guy could even become a regular fixture even?
🤔
This video made me claustrophobic! I can't believe you went down there, glad you made it out!
Never knew I liked caves this much
Never knew I didn't like caves this much!
Yes been waiting for another cave video go on matt keep up the good work
That cave was very cool.
I love it!
I love how mat keeps saying "you guys are crazy" like hes not squeezing himself into a 60ft hole right there with them😂
For real id argue mat is crazier going in after them with no experience
There’s a balance Matt has no experience, but he has a guide leading him. The cave boys are experienced but also willing explore unexplored caves for fun.
My man
Please be careful while underground. You don't know why the entrance was covered up. Bring something to protect yourself. Texas has some critters you don't want to run into. God bless you and yours.
Just in time for my lunch break! I'm gonna accidentally end up in the bathroom for 20 minutes so I can watch the whole thing. LOL
I love knowing I'm not the only one that does this 🤣😂
I have some news for you. Might need to take a second break later to finish the video
Or just quit ur job LOL
@@MrCarroll exactly what I'm doing haha
@@nonono5351 makes sense! Haha
Always nice to have some pros with you. Good job guys.
Matt you got to visit Mammoth Cave in Ky.
Longest Cave system in the world. They have some very cool tours depending on skill level.
THANK YOU MATT!!!
I was hoping for some more cave content!!!
With all these caves on the property, surely y’all find that bear soon 😂
Gota find the bear shitting first 😉
@@xxxlonewolf49 That bear must be in the woods then....
What an awesome addition to the Resort if you can set it up with lights and tours!
@MattCarriker you got to let us brew you a beer and age it in the cave. We can brew it there and you can hand it out for free and your next event. We can donate the ingredients for the brew.
Hats of to the entire crew. I worked up a sweat just watching.
Had to check the end of the video if they actually got out or if this was the last "off the ranch" video.
The only accending I've done on rope was using prusik knots lol. Actual ascenders make it way easier
Drink every time Matt says “what did you grab?!”
thats a cool cave, would almost be worth opening the top up some then clearing out all the loose rebel at the bottom
