I absolutely love your channel. You guys are so inspiring to me and my journey on this platform. I to hope that one day I can leave my job and do this full time just like you guys have! 🙏😎🇦🇺
Heavy loads while swinging and also pushing over trees can end very badly. Got to be careful of trees coming back at the cab. Or if pushing over a dead tree it's important to watch out the top doesn't snap off and come back towards the cab. These pines probably aren't to bad but still gotta take your time and have the respect for them
Yep & I personally wouldn't be doggin on it if I was so far from civilization, running very rough terrain & I was depending on it to get me back to camp, to a better vehicle or even back home. Jus sayin boyz. 😉
By the looks of the cable they found, which would have been a choker for cable logging, they probably logged that property 30 to 40 years ago, hence why there are old trails there.
It’d be way to flexible, they’d have to weld it in the position they wanted and chances are it would still break the weld. You gotta remember that was wrapped around trees and attached to a cable that basically drags the trees up the hill to a certain location where they are processed for transport.

It's been so inspiring and entertaining to watch you all glow up! Ethans mind and drive and creativity, paird with Edwins editing and storytelling. PERFECT combo!! Would so love to meet you guys one day and give you my thanks in person.
Building or buying a lumber mill is definitely a must if you've got a property like that. A cliff house would be perfect for the spot you've picked out, one that hangs half way off the cliff with a nice size deck out over nothing. It could be amazing especially as you've got all that building materials 20 yards from the cliff edge. Congratulations on your purchase. Just make sure you build it with a view of being able to retire there when your older. .
Even just an Alaska saw mill with a nice long-bar chainsaw would do the trick to get started. Hell, they could knock one together from scraps around the shop as in.
@@AnthonyBowman That is a perfect idea! And it honestly seems 100% up Ethan's alley. He could build it back at the shop, with all the precision machining gear and tools... Then teardown and load into the kei truck and reassemble on-site!
We build temporary roads out of forestry mats for the power company. In the winters they can get icy and sometimes we pack snow roads which also get bad. We took a torch and blew holes through our tracks on the excavators and put 3/4inch grade 8 bolts. Yes sometimes they break and need to be replaced, but it’s way better than sliding down a hill in expensive machinery!
I think it’s time for a Honey Badger refresh. Maybe some maintenance, mild performance mods to help with the altitude, and some functional mods for the new property. Mild Exocage, winches for logs and the rig, and some long range fuel options would be sick. Stoked to see this coming together!!

I know there is a lot of behind the scenes work for a TH-cam channel. I know because I tried and couldn’t stick with it. I’ll continue to watch this one and the few others I follow that do the same. Thank you letting be a part of your dream. Much love❤❤

Dream come true man. I'm so happy for you I bought some acreage in West Tennessee with a Creek in the spring I'm currently homesteading now. Been watching your channel since your first post. Love to see the progress man keep pushing
Hey yo Ethan, when you were counting the growth rings on the stump. If it's a deciduous tree, count the rings and divide the number in half. Eg ... I cut down a tree that my father and I planted 18years ago (poplar), there was exactly 36 rings. It seems deciduous trees have 2 rings per year, maybe signifying possibly spring and fall. I live in B.C 🇨🇦 so results may differ.I absolutely love the look of your new property. Live long and prosper 🤟
If I remember properly there is a thick ring that is lighter in color and a thin one that is darker. The two make up a year. Thick for spring and early summer, thin for the late summer to winter. It has to do with the availability of water I think. Apparently the internet tells me Dendrochronology is the scientific method of dating trees using the growth rings.
We love watching your channel grow. Im a day one fan, 😮and your build brought out the inner kid in me. To see you come this far, and to know this is just the beginning...makes me so happy.

Hi guys This was honestly one of the most entertaining videos from you guys in my opinion since I started following y'all (thank you Ethan for bringing us along). It would be really cool the see a larger info video with some long-term plans and maybe some map/overview planning of the place.. (of course I don't want you guys to dux the local) but as a Danish city-dweller this is a dream I will probably never experience my self so seeing people I enjoy watching live that dream is very therapeutic. Thanks for the Premium videos and good luck, can't wait to see more!
I can relate to these childhood dreams Ethan. I share similar dreams of a hidden mountaintop with zero neighbours for many miles but I've always wanted to go all out and make massive upgrades to the type of treehouse I had as a child. Congratulations on achieving your goal and much appreciation for bringing us all along.
When I first saw this video pop on my feed I decided to watch it later, not knowing the backstory of this place that Ethan bought. I thought it was going to be some youtuber thing - but hearing the backstory about it all and having watched this channel for about a year or two now I feel super happy for you all that this came into your lap. I would love to live in a forest myself some day. I totally understand initially wanting to keep it private but me and many others judging by the comments are super happy you did not. Cheers
I've been with the channel since that first build. I thought the draw to Grind Hard was you guys plus the builds. Today, it dawned on me that it's you guys, the builds, and Idaho. What beautiful country.

Weld up some cleats on the tracks. Will help with traction and stability.
3 in pieces of rebar welded to the cleats , staggered 1 per pad will prevent any wild side slides on the ice . Old pipe liners trick...
I've been watching since your first video. Goes without saying that I love the channel. But, this video brought me a lot of joy. I'm really happy for you. You got your hands on your own paradise.
I'm not crying you are 😭. I've been waiting you guys for quite a while I like to let your videos build up so I can binge them. But thank you guys for all the years of silly go cart videos. ❤
Wait! I've been watching Grind hard plumbing from your inception? Wow how time flies
I know!!
0:20 is it just me or is it really like saying i bought an island 🤣
If you think about it it's basically just an island, really high above sea level lol
Mountain sounds better...and more fun
Someone may have already mentioned it but that cable with the crimp on the end is a choker cable for loggers, I bet these are old logging roads.
Love seeing TH-camrs that are able to turn their passions into a way to make money to fuel that passion. I think that’s everyone’s dream. I know there is a lot of behind the scenes work for a TH-cam channel. I know because I tried and couldn’t stick with it. I’ll continue to watch this one and the few others I follow that do the same. Thank you letting be a part of your dream. Much love❤❤
This is such a huge moment for you guys! The flashbacks to where you started is incredible and gave me chills when you talked about his plan. Congrats Ethan!
25:20 sounds like every time I play Snowrunner - abandoning stuck or broken trucks left and right lol
You're a talented creator, no joke!
SUCH HYPE!!! I cannot WAIT for all the trails and places you cannot even walk!
Your idea for the cabin being made of rock is perfect! I've been talking about making a stone foundation blacksmiths shop for a couple years. I'm excited to see the process
So cool! Excited to see what’s to come. Thank you for sharing this with us!

YES, I WAS LOOKING FOR YOUR VIDEO! THANKS
Congrats Ethan! I remember when you had mentioned something about wanting your own mountain in the middle of nowhere on one of the very early episodes of sent and bent. Hell yeah! Excavator and a mountain!!
21:59 - « Hello and welcome to mine mountain. » Awesome ! I love to could say that one day.
No noise, no neighbours, only nature = paradise !
Thanks to share this with us.
Ethan is literally living my dream.

I have never been more jealous of someone and so happy at the same time. Thank you for deciding to share it with us.

7:00 Hello video corruption
We love watching your channel grow. Im a day one fan, 😮and your build brought out the inner kid in me. To see you come this far, and to know this is just the beginning...makes me so happy.

N I'm Super Excited For Excavator Mods!! Thanks for sharing your journey building this with us we are so excited to go along with you on it!!
Time for the off-road freedom factory❤
Its crazy how its been 6 years since I watched your first build. I was hooked after! You guys are why im going in the direction i am. So happy for you guys
Definitely want more of these videos. Would love to watch the progress and see it finished. Definitly deserves his dream home. Keep up the great videos.
Man, I am so jealous. I would love that land. I’m loving the idea of the cabin built up. Stone would be cool to have a big rock fireplace in the middle of the cabin and some steel beans off that edge with a cool porch. Can’t wait to see what you do with the property.
This is so fucking rad. I'm so happy for y'all, been a big fan for YEARS. It's incredible to see the sort of shenanigans you've done, the phenomenal builds, the friends you've made and have gone by, and now a whole ass side of a mountain. Truly incredible the world we live in, congrats!
Hi guys
This was honestly one of the most entertaining videos from you guys in my opinion since I started following y'all (thank you Ethan for bringing us along).
I've followed you for years, and this makes me so so happy. Its such a beautiful thing.
Thanks for sharing your dream and journey with us Ethan, and to the guys for their words and support! Wishing you every success, great comradery and a fantastic journey to achieving that dream.
Looking forward to any more of your journey you share with us.
Congratulations on the new piece of land. Such a beauty! What a fantastic achievement, truly living the dream from all the hard work you've done.
I Cannot wait to see the progress that will be coming.
I’m so happy for you man! You’re out there living the dream! I’ll be praying for you and your future project cabin to go well!
