    Ed Hubbs, you are an airbrushing genius. I'm starting to airbrush and your lessons have helped me alot, your kustom paints also look very nice however i want to get more comfortable with Createx water based paint and get familiar with airbrushing. Thanks so much for the great videos and tutorials.

    I would recommend the House Of Kolor system. All plastics are different are you talking about raw plastic or painted plastic? HOK makes a product called Adherto that is designed to go on plastic and it works great.

    Ed I have done a few bike tanks and fenders like this. I switched from the spray bottle to using a different style hair brushes and dippin n flickin. Also a tooth brush to make smaller droplets. Another cool effect is using a garden sprayer and set it as restrictive as you can so only a mist comes out. Like spraying a car panel start the spray outside of the work surface and don't stop until you are past it.

    what pressure are you running your airbrush at and do you keep it the same or close to for other styles? thanks for all the free vids. much better than what you can buy and you are giving away your secrets thank you thank you thank you

    @TheAlexich Candy is a transparent dye,that is made to enhance the under lament color.

  • @edhubbsairbrushing
    @edhubbsairbrushing  12 ปีที่แล้ว

    On painted plastic it has already had a adhesion promoter on it so you can sand it and seal it and base it.BUT if it is raw plastic like a bumper that you get from a dealer for a new car then you use the adherto on it.

    Superb effects. Thanks for taking the time to show how it's done with such clear instruction too. Great skills.
    I'm assuming this droplet effect is only really effective on flat panels that can be led down horizontally due to water run off? For example have you tried the same effect on a helmet or a similar shaped object?

    That is such a cool effect, Hey Ed or anyone with automotive paint knowledge, If you have a Silver car, can you somehow put a candy blue kinda laquer over the top to make it a metalic blue car, if you can do you have to rough the silver up with sandpaper or will it take away the glitter effect, and also what kind of candy laquer would you need to use???? many thanks..

    Very nice video. :) I have 2 questions: Do you still have to wet sand the hood after all those coats of paint over the water drops to smooth out any imperfections? Finally, what's the PSI you were you using to lay the black base coat, the blue candy, and black outline? Thank you, and keep up the good work.

    Thanks Eclipse55,I will keep it in mind.Originally for this project I had intended to mask each droplet individually,but I might also spin the whole car on "the rack" at my shop....tilting it so that each panel is perpendicular to the floor...but filming a new tv show (airs in june on the travel channel) has monopolized the lion share of my time. This job has been on the back burner while I've been painting a series of monster trucks and semi-haulers for an off road performance company.
