Stupendo come Venezia grazie Paul per rallegrarci un pò in questi tempi difficili
Grazie Gemma! 😍

I had to laugh out loud to see you in that gondola. And I am completely with you in copying the masters helps to learn a lot. Thank you for that reminder.

I would never thought too use Mars black. Your painting was wonderful!
You crack me up Pablo Clark!!! O SOLE MIO!!! You made my day! Thank you!
Glad you enjoyed it!
Thank you for this magic moment! Happy holiday and teaching as well on the river Rhône!!
Soooo good Paul. The many shades of blue, green, in water stunning! I agree that even copying an artist you still have to understand art theory & color theory to make it your own. And yes one always learns many things in your own rendering. Your sense of humor is priceless. You always make me laugh out loud.🤣😂😌🙄👏👏👏👏👏👏👏❤️
Thank you! Cheers! lovely comment much appreciated Barbara!
You sure did the original justice!
That's kind!
Brilliant master copy - and so relaxing to watch. Cheers!
Wowzz!!!! The intro was best!!! 😀😀😀😀😀😀😀

I will remember the Mars paint forever now. 😂 seriously though I gain so much thru how you talk to us about all that goes into each painting. Thank you
Love this one! This might be the closest I get to Italy for now. Thank you so much! Enjoy your river cruise ♥
Soooo magnificent! Paul the Master. ENJOY your teaching time on the Rhône! Wish i was joking you all.

I love your video very much!
I like to paint my pichures with your channal when I want to relax. Thank you.
My pleasure 😊
I love your intros and especially your paintings. Have a great day
Good morning Pablo Clark! What a delightful surprise!!! Love your humor, the music, the setting, the original artist and your version of this great scene!!! You never disappoint!!! 😊 Love the realtime; I don't suppose you could arrange it so that it shows up in different parts of the composition? Also, I've been hoping that some day you'd show us how to do people like in your Dancers at Annecy painting or the Bistro painting with the waitress at the doorway and patrons sitting at tables with one couple at the left of the waitress that shows movement and realism with figures. I would sure love to see how that's done. I hope you have a wonderful time in France with delicious food, warm, dry weather, amazing friends/acquaintances and plenty of plein air painting! Thanks so much Paul for always wanting to see our pearly whites! Oh, and great mustache by the way! 😊
Chapeau👏 quelle merveille, ces touches délicates qui font exploser la lumière🤩🤩🤩
this was very cool !!!
Hi Paul
I am receiving a lot of inspiration from your simple and clear lectures and various attempts. Thank you so much.
Hi Caroline here...love your art ....love your clowning around.
This art is as lovely and romantic as the place. Italy is in bucket list and I hope to go there to paint while in a gondola. In the meantime thank you, Paul, for bringing us albeit virtually and introducing the artist behind Madam X. Cheers!
can't wait to see the pics of the river cruise painting trip...I need to gather the courage to come on one
I love your rendition! You are certainly a master, and I enjoy your easy style. You impart such inspiration and confidence in nascent artists such as myself. Thank you!
Wow, thank you!
Enjoy your trip Paul .l have your book now going to have a go at the tutorial blue door
Hope you enjoy it!
Paul and Margot,
As always, thank you for the wonderful video. Into... well done.
Have a wonderful holiday on the Rhine, I am heartbroken I am not there with you but it was the right decision, I put my father in the hospital yesterday... would have been a nightmare to have had to rush back. I'm counting on you two, and the group, to have a glass of wine for me every evening. Ciao, ci vedremmo presto, sono sicura.
Once again a wonderful inspirational tutorial. Love you humor and choice of background music. Hoping your river cruise is lovely and fun. Ciao bello
Thanks so much!
Lovely Paul, thank you. I remember writing an essay about 'gassed' such a sad painting but sums up war well.
Hi Paul🖐, the watercolours you do look awesome every time, and thanx for showing me these gr8 watercolour techniques, keep it up👍🖐.
Buon giorno Pablo! More John Singer Sargent PLEASE.... amazing, plus it is perfect for praticing how to "loosen up"...
Hallo Paul! I want to wish you and all the participants in the cruise "Art on the Rhône with Paul Clark" sunny days, inspiration and fun!

I love Venezia la Serenissima so your watercolor appeals to me and shall exercise it! Enjoy your cruise on the Rhône river
Really fabulous demo, great job! And I did appreciate your comments about how we can learn from studying and copying great painters and paintings - hopefully I'll learn from copying you here. Bonus - you really made me laugh, I was fooled at the beginiing, thinking wow lucky Paul getting to do this in Venice !
Lol! - thanks and happy to help!
Love, love, love your opening! (as well as the rest of the video) Thank you so much for all you do.
Thank you so much!
I miss you last week Mr. Clark. A real exquisite place this place is with great sites to paint. An awesome video as usual. Thanks so much for the elegant painting. The water is superb with different hues and the buildings are well crafted. Great job and thank you once again
Pleasure as always!
Thank you for a little history with this fabulous paint. You know I consider you one of the Greats!! I actually preferred your versions of his paints! And always your humor makes me smile!
Wow, thank you! Lol!!!
Yes, I totally agree with you that copying famous painters give me that feeling of composition and colour creations. It is different for you because you are the professional painter who understands colour much better than somebody like myself. I like your approach to all presentations with great humour, sound of whatever characterize the scenery you try to very successfully place on watercolour paper. I am so happy that I discovered your site.
I LOVE your intros 😎😎😁😁😁
Great to hear!
Hello, Paul. Yesterday we in India celebrated ‘Guru Purnima’. It’s the day of the summer full moon dedicated to gurus or teachers. Gurus or teachers are worshipped for imparting knowledge and wisdom to their disciples and the gurus in turn bless the disciples. For me, you are my watercolour guru. Thank you for teaching me what I know about watercolour. My journey with the medium began two years ago with your tutorials.
You have captured the essence of Venice with the colours & loose strokes….have a wonderful time in France
Yay! I absolutely love Sargent’s watercolors. His Venice paintings are amazing but I especially love his paintings of Italian gardens 💕🪴
I think I’ll have to be brave and give this a try, thanks for the encouragement!
Love this painting!
Thank you! Cheers!
Wonderful!
Love your humour, and the paintings of course, always brightens the day 😀 I like reading the transcript, it always makes me chuckle, apparently you took a break for a 'glass of vinegar' 😂😂
Even while copying you added your own colour style. This made the painting look different and beautiful. Reminded me of my Venice trip. Thank you.
When you upgrade your intro, you do it with an artistic flare! Thank you for the interesting history, your beautiful Venice practice scenes, and this wonderful tutorial.
Glad you enjoyed it Susan!
What à lovely paint, Paul. Thank you for sharing, it was funny and instructive, as usual.
Great demonstration of the artist’s loose watercolor style. Can’t wait to try this painting; just absolutely love the quick loose method you used to replicate the style. Thanks Paul and enjoy your holiday.
Thanks so much 😊
Another great tutorial Paul of my favourite city … will be giving this a go and it will be my first painting of Venice …have a lovely time in France ! 👍🏻😀
Love ❤️!!!
Thank you, Paul!
Paul, this is amazing!!!! Thank you for this wonderful video.
Glad you enjoyed it!
That shadow in transparent cobalt blue is exquisite! Thank you for tip on keeping figures more realistic. Wonderful granulation under the bridge. Will have to order Mars black. Love how you captured the light in this scene. Thank you. Have a wonderful time in France.
Thank you Paul for your video and lesson! I had fun painting and thanks to you and Margot for making me smile and laugh every time.
Thank you Paul Clark! I'm new on the 'Gondola' and am inspired.

Wonderful tutorial. Lots to learn for masters. Thanks
I very recently found your channel, and I’m so happy I did. I love that you teach us of the great artists of the past. I love everything about art…even learning about the lives of the great artists. I’m going to have to google this one. His paintings are amazing. … Also, love your sense of humor. Haha
Great to hear ... many thanks Leanne!
you are a great painter. wish i could learn from you face to face. but alas i live in the us. i tried talking my husband into letting me take classes with you.
Lovely, thanks!
Fantastic ! Guess I need to get some Mars Black now. I love the granulation that ultramarine blue and burnt sienna make too.
Bahahahhahaa!Pablo, I was thinking, "That is a broom" when Margot said it!!! Thanks for this, great education, and I know how busy y'all are.
Glad you enjoyed it J!
Hello Paul, thank you very much for this wonderful video tutorial. Learning from the great Masters is a brilliant idea. I painted along with your tutorial and enjoyed every moment of the experience. I will post my humble attempt on your Facebook page. Thank you again. Cheers, Robert.
You are very welcome
Trop drôle Paul :0))) vos effets spéciaux sont spectaculaires! Essayez de ne pas tomber à l'eau ! Merci pour cet humour délirante! AB 🇨🇦
Too funny Paul :0)))) your special effects are spectacular! Try not to fall in the water! Thanks for the hilarious humor!
Merci! - glad you enjoyed it Abby!
Fabulous! I love Singer's use style and can absolutely see the value of copying to learn. What I noticed most of all was your hand movements to achieve the looseness - so learning from 2 masters! Thanks Paul!
Lol!!! - thanks
Hi cutie, your a nut!🤣 I love this!
Please don't forget to do a southwest desert scene one day.
Every time I try to do the 🌵 cacti it always looks so flat.
Paul Clark
i had no idea about him really . Just loved Madame X ❤❤❤❤❤ thank you for these amazing paintings 😮😮😮 Watercolor s are my fav too
Glad you enjoyed it - thanks
Here I am again 👍This really got to me because I have been to Venice , Italy It's such a significant place to visit ! Your excellence is perfection ❤️ I have absolutely enjoyed each video of yours so far This is the first time I have seen four videos in one day of my subscriptions Wow OMG !!!!!
When someone accidentally drops a color which you can't be blended in , that shocks me What can be done to remove the spilled drop ? 🤔 Unfortunately this has happened to me , I was sooo upset 👍 Please recommend a solution Thank you once again
Hiya - there really isn't a solution - often I will try and paint something over top and make it look intentional - however when the paint is dry you can gently rub off with a damp tissue. It won't remove all of it but it's a start!
Not going to Venice just yet Paul, I'm still in Yorkshire at the start of your first full paintings (the bridge) having just done your book's first exercises. Being able to read the book and "hear it" in your friendly voice is a delight, makes it seem _you're_ with me when I went out to paint, if that makes sense. So thank you for your lessons and energy and easy-going way and for your instruction, but most of all your enthusiasm - that's the real reason I have started experimenting with watercolours and I'm grateful - to you - that I did. (Or to put it another way, for all the messes on paper I'm about to make - ultimately I blame you!).
Lol! - love that, and delighted to help in anyway!
Hello Paul, your painting is so lovely! Thank you for showing beginners like me that this painting is doable! Looking forward to your next tutorial, 😊
Thank you so much 😀
Thank you for your wonderful channel, Paul. I was able to paint along with you on this one today and was pleasantly surprised how my rendition came out. Thanks for all you do! I picked up watercolor painting after my mother passed away in 2020 and haven’t looked back. I’ve learned so much from you on my journey. Thank you again!
Great to hear thanks!
Sir, I Completed this beautiful painting yesterday. It turned out so beautiful. I didn't have watercolors. So, I used gouache colors. Without your free tutorial, it wasn't possible at all. Thankyou sir! ❤️
Thank you so much 😀
This demonstration was great. Thank you!
You are so welcome!
This is so beautiful Paul. You have completely made this your own. Thank you!
