    The way you describe Sargent's works just made me look at Sargent's works twice. Thank you for that, i really admire Sargent's works and you made me understand some parts in his watercolor works that i just can't make out of.

    Take no notice Lachlan, this was meant to be a snapshot of Sargent and you achieved that with clarity and charm. I for one really enjoy your delivery.

    The looseness, the precision where needed, the composition, the narrative. Sargent was amazing.

    Why the hate?? I thought the narrater, being an accomplished painter himself, did a very good job! We need someone like him, articulate, immensely likeable to propagate the art of painting, so that genuine art can prosper & reach people and change the world for the better!

    Wish I could've seen it. I did see a Watercolor retrospective in Philly with many examples from around the world. Sargent, Homer, Prendergast. It was something else.

    I have just got onto Sargent's watercolours thanks to TH-cam. I would love to see some "in the flesh". We do get good travelling exhibitions here in Brisbane but I'm not going to hold my breath. Thanks for the enthusiasm!

    Another excellent video enticing us to visit this excellent gallery again to see something new. This is more than just a superficial trailer, yet concise enough to help understand the artist, the importance of their work, and what the exhibition is trying to showcase.

    This is fabulous, thank you for sharing your passion. It’s quite art nouveau for a few details to be focused and the rest abstract and fantastical.

    This dude had access to the entire exhibit. All to himself. Instead of giving us a fuller glimpse of Sargeants brilliance, he chooses to force his own taste upon us. It's cool that he had his favorites, but be of service to your audience as well. Show us more of the works without your commentary. This video squandered a huge opportunity.

    • @barneyfife5777
      @barneyfife5777 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      long-winded .. he's a complete waste of time. Sargent would have broken out in hives wondering if anyone dared to connect the two. Sargent was a very shy and yet purposeful man who stood for no bullshit what so ever. He went to exhaustive efforts. to do , throw away and redo a hundred times until he got it right. He was ruthless on looking at anything but the detail. He looked at the entire image in the rearrest of fashion. the quintessential opposite of this pathetic waste of life narrator POS nobody

    It's interesting how this host focuses on simpler Sargent's work, loves making up stories about it. We must be aware of these modern "critics", for they aren't to pinpoint the heights of someone's work in the difficult medium... but they talk golden oratories about much simpler sketches that Moderns could emulate.. if they accidentally spill some paint on paper.

    Why do we have to see you so much? I really would have preferred to see the pieces of art most of the time.
