Hey guys!! Thank you so much for watching!!! Honestly, it means the world to me that you have all been so supportive over me doing these longer videos!! It would help a lot if you could give this video a share, and a like though!! Also if you're new here, and want to see more of this kind of content, please subscribe!! I upload every Saturday or Sunday! Also, if you haven't already, please hit the notification button!! Finally, just out of curiosity, what did you guys think of the whole "Earth Born Angel" story? I love it, but I've never really spoken about it to anyone, so I just want to see what you guys think! Thanks so much! Faust
ItsSuperEffective I don't know if you already did this character or not but I was wondering if you could do a video about Captain Britain from Marvel comics
You really have a knack for illuminating and giving respect and dignity to lesser known characters. Would love to see you do Laurel Gand someday. Also gain new respect for Peter David. Always cool to see a writer given a nice, long comic run to do whatever they want.
Laurel is part of the Legion, and that's like...probably my weakest part of DC. I am doing research on them though, so Laurel is for sure on my radar!!
I love her specifically because...I didn't want to like her, being obviously some kind editorial mandated creation. But from the first panel she's in, you immediately love her, her strength and goodness as well. The post Zero-hour Laurel gets a little messed up, which I have a feeling you will enjoy.
I loved PAD's Hulk run. Even some of the goofy social ones like the drugs, abortion, and AIDS arcs weren't TOO horrible. (They were pretty bad compared to the rest of the run though.)
Linda as Supergirl is one of my favorite DC characters. I was way too young to read her series when it came out and only first read it a couple of years ago when it came to comixology, but when I did she became my favorite character from the Superman side of things. I also adore the Leesburg supporting cast, her parents, Cutter, and Mattie. I really prefer her to Kara.
I like this one little christmas story dc did, it had deadman kinda possessing people because being dead during the holidays sucks. Nobody really remembered deadman. So he gets a visit from some blonde woman who gives him a pep talk about how even if your forgotten, everything you do still mattered. *side note, that was the first reapperance of kara since infinite crisis*
I will never forget the forgotten Supergirl. I was in love with Peter David's Run, and I think Many Happy Return is one of the best comic book stories.
I really love your channel because you give straight facts, but at the same time I feel like you really know these characters and bring a psychological aspect to them. Please ignore the haters and keep making videos! Your are amazing, thanks
23:22 there's a fan theory that might be the same Kara who comfort Deadman in that Christmas backup story several years earlier and might be the spirit of the Pre-Crisis Kara Zor El
Thank you for this excellent history of a character I had little knowledge of. I appreciate that you took the time to fully explain Linda, so the extra length of this video was a positive thing IMO.
Linda Danvers-Earth born angel Supergirl is the best version of Supergirl and one of my favorites DC characters. Heck, the comic itself is the best single-writer DC comics run for me.
I always liked Linda Danvers and the concept of the Earth Born Angel. However I doubt DC will ever revisit it due to continuity (that they don't really have any enthusiasm for the character) and the fact they want to make Kara the only Supergirl. If Linda ever returns then I would hope she gets her own superhero name.
Man this is such a great video! I love the fact that you focus on more obscureheroes. Because I really get burned out on the BatMan/SpiderMan/and SuperMan combo. You legit are one of the reasons I've decided to start my own channel.👍👍👍 keep it up amigo! Maybe one day we could work together!
Hi, you probably won’t see this but I would like to thank you for introducing me to this comic series. It had inspired me give them a read but never got an opportunity to until recently. I am currently half way through and I have been loving every second of it. Thanks again for this!
Heres the funny thing matrix/ linda danvers whole story actually seems to fit more in constantine or even sandman universe solely on the themes and story as a whole, then again that my humble opinion all in all its truly a journey on a person having the chance to be a better person to live the life she never really herself butvlearning to become the best version of herself.
The short Linda-Kara arc is one of the best stories DC has ever published. It actually manages to honour the wide eyed kidlike silly optimism of Silver Age with the more dark and emotional Bronze Age style melodrama with modern art & tongue in cheek gags. Putting Kara on the ship is brutal emotionally. The reader has actually learned to adore her as much as Linda did. But its a mother saving her daughter now... And it underscores that 20 years of no Kara, since the Crisis, which feels like a real sacrifice. We never got the innocent 1959 Kara back. Not until Melissa Benoist, anyway, and i think its the Linda-Kara arc that brings her back.
Omg Faust I was so thinking about Linda Danvers recently and Matrix as well. I’m glad you did this video man for real! I actually want her to return for real!
Thank you for giving Linda love, literally no one ever talks about her. If I may can you make a video about another lesser known super Chris Kent cause I feel like he is in the same boat as Linda. Also I love your idea about how she can be introduced in Rebirth. Wove you, Faust 💕
Thank You... Only an angel could tell a story so meta-Well. You are sincerely admired. Yet, I'm the one feels like a kid at Xmas when you storytell... I am blessed cause you leave me truely gifted.
This was awesome!👍 I loved ❤ Linda and i hate that such a great & complex chaacter has never reappeared (She really got yhe shaft in Rein...Peter David later wrote Fallen Angel and the character of Lin was basically Linda, but as it wasn't a DC book, he couldn't say it was officially Linda...even though that was the hidden intent). Anyway, thanks for posting this it was a great trip down memory lane. Your commentary was insightful and brought up stuff I missed and things I hadn't considered. 🤔 Well done! 👏 I really enjoyed watching 😃. Am totally subscribing now. 😋
Great video I never knew there was another super girl or about those other spider women and spider girl from one of your older videos I also liked the comet being part woman part as its showing you can love someone regardless of their sex/orientation
I love your videos, I learn so much. In this case, I don’t quite get how we tell when it’s Linda and when it’s Mae. Does their appearance change to match or is Mae now “in control” of Linda’s body?
The Linda Danvers Supergirl was my favorite version of The Girl of Steel, especially when she got the Matrix part of her taken away and was wearing a blonde wig and her costume from the Superman animated series. The current comic book version can't hold a candle to her IMO.
Thank you so much for making this video. It's almost unconscionable that the story of Linda Danvers, such a long, well regarded run, has just been forgotten by DC. Even the CONCEPT of Earth Born Angels, something that DC technically doesn't have to have Supergirl involved in, has been forgotten. No wonder DC is such a mess. I'm pretty sure they've rebooted their universe during the time it took to type this comment. I wouldn't call the Supergirl appearance in Reign in Hell a continuity error, though. It's quite obvious the being we saw in that series was the Angel of Fire aspect, not Linda Danvers. How was the Angel of Fire split from Twilight? Don't know, though there was a "Death of the New Gods" series that came out between Supergirl and Reign in Hell that could have given a story hook for the split. Not that it matters because....reboot.
Somewhat, in Fallen Angel #14 there was a character named "Lin" who was supposed to be a spiritual successor to Linda? But he could never "properly" see her story through, due to legal reasons.
Yes he did. The series was called Fallen Angel and was really good. It's a shame that DC wasted such a great character. I agree with Faust, DC should bring the character back in some fashion...
so was this the aspect inspiration for the supergirl tv show? cause it looks like it has the same issue when season 1 started, or did the new 52 made it seem that way?
Hey...… I'm a comic book vagabond, I have been searching for information on Supergirl,, and I I hold appreciation 2 Helen Slater's movie.... As of Supergirl having a brother who is he?
Does anybody know how to read this whole series? Tpb's 1-4 only cover up to I believe the mid-40s in issue count and Many Happy Returns is just the very end. There's like a whole quarter of the story missing!
I feel like that one part about the college protest and the professor really echoes modern cancel culture. Like she chose to try and stay impartial about freedom of speech and still got called racist for someone else's beliefs.
Ah, so this is why people don't like religion in comics. But other than that confusing mess I love Linda Danvers. Her character's complex in all the good ways. I especially love her ending with Kara and stuff. Her trying to do the right thing, it turns out okay until the very end. Morally grey thing of sending Kara to her death but wanting to protect her daughter. Love her.
You gave an excellent and comprehensive explanation of the story. But, in my opinion, this story was horrible and really dragged poor Linda through the mud.
in my opinion,i think she is better off as her own character, and not playing supergirl,it is just confusing and its better to have her write her own path in character growth.
I love the Smallville´s version by Laura Vandervoort. She brought me to read the comic´s. Today´s Supergirl is notheing more as a female Superman. His arc is giving to her. A false Supergirl !!!
I liked this story it stands up for American rights such as freedom of speech even the dark side of those rights while also preaching exceptance as the other girl was like so what that I'm a girl I'm still me it's the way America is suppose to be you don't like what some one had to say you either don't listen or you have your right to protect and the right thing to do is accept people
Maybe I still haven't read much dc comics but this is by far the weirdest and strangest comic ever, alien clone Supergirl merges with traumatised homicidal culty girl then goes on to defend awful racists and is also an angel with fire wings ?!?! Wtf!?!? Super interesting video though lol
Hey guys!!

ItsSuperEffective will do
ItsSuperEffective I personally loved the earth born angel storyline on supergirl and thought it was really interesting
I love Linda and the concept behind her
I would love a history behind rouge
ItsSuperEffective I don't know if you already did this character or not but I was wondering if you could do a video about Captain Britain from Marvel comics
Five minutes in: What's even happening in this story?
Five minutes left: Really? What's happening?!
Omfg no one ever talks about her this is why I love you Faust ❤
She's literally is my fave supergirl
You really have a knack for illuminating and giving respect and dignity to lesser known characters. Would love to see you do Laurel Gand someday.

Buzz looking like a discount John Constantine
I know right
I would like to see Linda and she really does have that Jessica Jones personality where she the worst person you can meet but still wants to do good
Linda as Supergirl is one of my favorite DC characters. *patiently waits for Linda Danvers Easter Egg in S4 of Supergirl*
Miranda Miller 🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻
Miranda Miller they sort of did her storyline with the reign character last season.
I like this one little christmas story dc did, it had deadman kinda possessing people because being dead during the holidays sucks. Nobody really remembered deadman. So he gets a visit from some blonde woman who gives him a pep talk about how even if your forgotten, everything you do still mattered.

Warren Ward ❤
Thank you, I never really understood Linda Danvers and the "Supergirl" before this video. Time to track down the books.
Thank you!
You are very welcome!
I will never forget the forgotten Supergirl. I was in love with Peter David's Run, and I think Many Happy Return is one of the best comic book stories.
Another lengthy video from Faust, I'm loving this.
So happy to hear that!!
Dawn Breaker parapapapapa I'm loving it
I really love your channel because you give straight facts, but at the same time I feel like you really know these characters and bring a psychological aspect to them. Please ignore the haters and keep making videos! Your are amazing, thanks

Wow, I never knew how interesting Linda Danvers was. Great video, she should come back. Not as Supergirl but herself like you said.
Thank you for doing a video on her Faust.
I love Linda and really hope she comes back some day.
Love this take on the character! Supergirl is more interesting whenever she breaks away from Clark’s mold.
Thank you for this excellent history of a character I had little knowledge of. I appreciate that you took the time to fully explain Linda, so the extra length of this video was a positive thing IMO.

This was Amazing!! I wanted to see if I should read Linda Danver's story, but now I think I will😇😇
Hi, you probably won’t see this but I would like to thank you for introducing me to this comic series. It had inspired me give them a read but never got an opportunity to until recently. I am currently half way through and I have been loving every second of it. Thanks again for this!
I have been waiting for this
Wow! Wonderful summary of one of my favourite comic book series ever. Well done!
My all time favourite favourite Supergirl. This run is absolutely amazing! Gone but NEVER forgotten.
Still the best video of comic book related content I've ever seen.
I love all of your videos especially the longer ones! Keep doing what you are doing because you are doing AWESOME!!!
Yeah! I love Linda Danvers.
Thx for the vid ❤
I LOVE this series, and I love you for making a video about it. Makes me think it's time for a full re-read.
Thank you for all your great shows and sharing your vast comic book knowledge. Continue the great work...

This was very cool to watch I’m glad I watched this today.
That super effective yell at the end of your videos is sooo jarring and dissonant, but hilarious as well! 🤣🤣🤣
I always liked Matrix Supergirl best when she was with Lex Luthor clone/son with the long red hair. They were great together
Yay love your videos ❤️
Thank you for this! And your hair looks amazing
Thank you so much for making this video.
Thank You... Only an angel could tell a story so meta-Well. You are sincerely admired. Yet, I'm the one feels like a kid at Xmas when you storytell... I am blessed cause you leave me truely gifted.

damn i was tearing up there towards the end
Going to try and buy these comics now, thanks for making this video faust :-).
Great video I never knew there was another super girl or about those other spider women and spider girl from one of your older videos I also liked the comet being part woman part as its showing you can love someone regardless of their sex/orientation
thank you
Wow this was epic, i had no idea who she was so thanks for sharing her history.
Holly molly what a crazy history, the style reminds me of anime. They merged fantasy with religion, is so odd to me
I agree!! In a lot of ways, I almost feel like Linda is the western interpretation of Revolutionary Girl Utena!
*SuperGirl having wings made of fire*
"THAT IS THE MOST METAL SHIT I HAVE EVER SEEN!!!"

did the supergirl tv used some aspects of this story? cause it looks they did and used all the other aspect of the new 52 supergirl
What does the pin say on the #1 cover with the skateboard. Looks like _ENA _AVA. It's bugging me. Great video!
Faust please history of superboy part 3 I’m craving it!
GREAT VIDEO ITSSUPEREFFECTIVE!
Thank you so much for making this video. It's almost unconscionable that the story of Linda Danvers, such a long, well regarded run, has just been forgotten by DC. You should check out the convergence supergirl matrix tie-in.
*I would really like to see Wonder Girl and Super Girl Team up*
I have no idea what has happened in this video but I love it.
Didn't PAD unofficially continue his Supergirl comic in all but name after he left DC?
Somewhat, in Fallen Angel #14 there was a character named "Lin" who was supposed to be a spiritual successor to Linda? But he could never "properly" see her story through, due to legal reasons.
Yes he did. The series was called Fallen Angel and was really good. It's a shame that DC wasted such a great character. I agree with Faust, DC should bring the character back in some fashion...
That ending hit different
Thank you Faust. Supergirl is my most fave DC character except for Chameleon Boy.
Love the video good job👌👌👌
Thank you!!

yay supergirl :)
Can you do the history of hack?
Loveeeeee thissssss

Sadly DC doesn’t seem to be interested in continuing the trades. You’d have to buy back issues or read them digitally.
@@pascal-Z Well god dammit
I feel like that one part about the college protest and the professor really echoes modern cancel culture. Like she chose to try and stay impartial about freedom of speech and still got called racist for someone else's beliefs.
I’VE NEVER CLICK SO FAST BEFORE
Ah, so this is why people don't like religion in comics.

That was deep now all of the sudden she is my favorite
Are you gonna do powergirl soon
Thanks I need your video right now
No problem!
Whatever you are going through, I hope it turns out OK!
Thank you faust keep being super effective on us
Get back on TH-cam man miss u my guy
I wish DC would collect this entire comic run into an oversized hardcover collection.
Thank you... I miss Linda/Mae... but what was in that damn box Linda left behind!
You gave an excellent and comprehensive explanation of the story. But, in my opinion, this story was horrible and really dragged poor Linda through the mud.
for the majority of this i was like "what the fuck what the fuck WHAT. THE. FUCK." ... so yeah, great video Faust!
That was a trip from begging to end, holy crud
Excellent video, Faust! I've been interested in Linda Danvers for a while.
However, are you okay? You looked pretty tired in the vid.
in my opinion,i think she is better off as her own character, and not playing supergirl,it is just confusing and its better to have her write her own path in character growth.
"Inappropriate things next to the corpse" LOL 😂🤣😂🤣,that's why I love you and your vids and if you ask me I'm really liking these lengthy videos
Linda is my favorite Supergirl.
I remember crying when supergirl died
I love the Smallville´s version by Laura Vandervoort. She brought me to read the comic´s. Today´s Supergirl is notheing more as a female Superman. His arc is giving to her. A false Supergirl !!!
Linda was my introduction to Supergirl. I became aware of her RIGHT when the corrupted form of Matrix reformed and began doing doing bad stuff.
FAUST PLS DO A CAPTAIN MARVEL BACKSTORY!!!
I love supergirl/matrix
This is a... strange story.
I liked this story it stands up for American rights such as freedom of speech even the dark side of those rights while also preaching exceptance as the other girl was like so what that I'm a girl I'm still me it's the way America is suppose to be you don't like what some one had to say you either don't listen or you have your right to protect and the right thing to do is accept people
Drink driving 😂 but seriously this was an amazing video
Thank you!
ItsSuperEffective no thank you for making amazing informative videos for beloved characters and adding your own original flair into it :)
I think that Linda was just too complicated for her own good. And that ending where she abandoned everyone made her seem rather selfish.
I also like Linda
Wow
Damn this series is dark for a Superman family book.
It’s much more amazing and so wonderfully written. Smart and thought-provoking. All the characters in it are so three-dimensional.
