- I asked my friend @saulnismoknights for a favor to do some base line pulls on my Trueno Edition. The goal is to to show how much power this GR is making, as there has been some confusion going around with numbers. Plus, for anyone wondering what this new year is making, you can compare for yourself :)
Pretty good numbers man. I made 228 WHP with my old 2020 BRZ and a Jackson Racing Supervharger. These new BRZ/GR 86s are incredible.
Yeah, I am pleased with the results. I’m sure that supercharger made it fun to drive. Do you still own it? Its definitely a great drivers car for the value :)
That’s a guaranteed 250+ bhp right there. I’ve seen people pushing 220 to the wheels bone stock!
It’s a solid amount of horsepower and torque, but the power band is where it shows how it feels quicker in this generation. All dyno’s vary, some fluff the numbers a bit. This one is at the hub reading a little more accurate.
Damn how does a bolt on Honda k20 with 250k from 20 years ago make the same power 🫢
@@jonathanramirez878 if you’re even half a car guy you should know GR86s aren’t meant to be fast in straight lines. Moreover, you can mod a Honda to make it beat a Ferrari but it’s still just a Honda and it’s a modded Honda. That would make our conversation a different argument. Also, your Honda doesn’t have 4 piston Brembo Brakes in front and 2 in the back, doesn’t have Torsen limited slip differential and Sachs damper from the factory, not limited to 860 units produced and most likely isn’t worth 40k.
@@jonathanramirez878 Why does a Honda generator make 1-3 hp? Your answer is in the application.
You took those tires off like you were working on a F1 pit crew 😀
@@TheJR914 Haha, I used to work at America’s Tire and learned how to mount and balance tires in about 15 minutes 😃
How tf did you get a Trueno at Longo. I’ve been looking around for months and I kept getting hit at $5k over (SoCal IE area). I found a Premium + Performance pack in Arizona that I’m going to pick up in a couple weeks, already sent my down payment.
@@johnrodriguez9720 I’ve been waiting since January 2022 for an GR86 🥲. I wanted a Premium in manual at the time and there weren’t any in the color nor price I wanted. So got on the list at Longo, later discovered the ‘23 Special Edition coming, so I switched to that. All of ‘23 passed and then heard this one was coming and I was the 1st to get it. Worth the wait! Congratulations on your find 👏🏽 which color did find?
@@shift__robinson holy hell lmao I wouldn’t have waited that long 😅 I’ve been waiting 2 months now and it’s almost here and I’m dying waiting lol. I got a 24 Premium manual in Pavement gray with the performance pack. I heard about the brakes overheating so I waited till a brembo package came in. I cannot wait to have this thing man! Hopefully I catch you on the road one day 🫡
@@johnrodriguez9720 It was long! It worked out anyway because I had time to save up for a down payment. Nice! You’ll enjoy those Brembo brakes. Night and day differences, plus the initial bite is very noticeable. The stock brakes overheat in track scenarios with repetitive abs stops, but usually pads and fluid upgrades take it away. Once you add big power then it becomes noticeably inefficient, even with track pads. That would cool
to go drive! If you check out my IG, I’ve been hosting drives every 2-3 months. Hopefully I’ll see you one of these times! Keep me posted on your delivery too!
@@shift__robinson hell yeah man! I’ll go follow you on insta and tell you when I get my car. I’ll definitely have to hit up your meet 🫡👌🏻
🙌🏽🙌🏽😃 Sounds good!!
THANK YOU FOR DOING THIS BRODIE. I CAN’T BELIEVE THE READ OUT IS ONLY 209HP AND 175 FOOT POUNDS OF TORQUE. FEELS MUCH STRONGER THAN THAT WHEN DRIVING.
CAR STILL LOOKING REAL CLEAN BROTHER. APPRECIATE THE CONTENT.
NAMASTE 🙏🏽 FROM BROOKLYN.
Glad you enjoyed it! The torque increase and the widened range is really what makes it feel much quicker than the previous generation. Torque = acceleration, Horsepower = top speed 🙂
