I loved this review as the owner of a 2022 Limited automatic Subaru BRZ. The only interesting fact about these cars I would like to add to Sarah's review is these relatively low priced cars have the exotic feature of aluminum front fenders, hood, and top. I chose the BRZ over the GR86 because reviews indicated the BRZ is better for tracking a low lap time on a race course, whereas the GR86 is "more tossable" as in drifting.
Thanks for getting in the back seat. I have a MK3 Supra. Similar space in the back and I use it for small bags and emergency pickups. Major reason I dislike the MK5 is no back seat….and no Targa. GR86 looks fun to drive.
I used to launch my Chevelle even higher than that, but it was a DRAG car that was built to be launched that hard too. Otherwise, dumping the clutch at 5,000 RPM will only smoke the tires and break drivetrain parts.
SACHS dampers and Brembo breaks will be a package for 2024 model year - no need to order limited Trueno edition (order availability in November, delivery next winter). Also, that package can be retrofitted to current GR86s, and I read somewhere, that that retrofitting will be offered at official dealerships.
I’m both a Cynophile as well as a ailurophile. I had for a time both growing up together at my home in Colorado. I have a 2017 86 with the 2.0L boxer 4. @5:25 the buttons are often misunderstoon, at least on the BRZ tapping the left button turns off traction control but leaves stability control on. You have to hold the button down for 3 seconds to turn off BOTH. Or just use the track button which turns both TSC & VSC down to minimums
As a fellow sasquatch, that's my first condition that has to be met! This generation feels more roomy than the last. And far more capable on the track.

@@stevef3521 yeah, watched that video a couple of days ago - right turns on high speed cause critical oil pressure drop in FA24 (I guess WRX is also affected).

Owning one, I really love it. The power is more than fine for the road. You can easily lose traction in the dry at high RPMs. The speed at which it revs from 5500 to 7400 RPM is pretty insane. Easy to bounce off the rev limiter if your not shifting fast enough. The problem with the car is that it encourages you to push it and that's when your starting to exceed the speed limit. Anymore power and you'll just overload the chassis and to get the thrill of driving it hard, exceed the speed limit excessively. And I don't want my car crushed by the state for "excessively speeding."
