I am happy to have finally finished this video. I started working on it way back in November, finding shortcuts and getting all the footage, and took a long break from it through most of December and January. However, this February, I put hours and hours into it to make it much better than the first two. And wow, did not expect it to be so long, 11 minutes of CT shortcut montage goodness!
Now, this series has always been about shortcuts with a little more risk in them than the average grass cut. So I thought it'd be appropriate to implement a "Risk vs Reward" which is what the "RvR" stands for.
★ 5 Stars = A shortcut where the reward greatly overpowers the risk (you should always go for these when able to)
★ 4 Stars = The reward outweighs the risks still, but not as beneficial
★ 3 Stars = Risk is equal to reward
★ 2 Stars = Risk outweighs reward most of the time
★ 1 Star = Should not be done in races, risk highly outweights the reward!
This is all opinion, of course, based on personal experience and how good I am at pulling off the shortcuts.
I also added how many mushrooms each shortcut takes to pull off. The "+" symbol, like on Koopa Troopa Beach, pretty much means that you only need 1 but with an extra, it can be done more effectively or easily.
Unlike the second one, there aren't many glitchy shortcuts in this video because most of them have been patched by now.
- Annotations don't pop up on mobile so in case you're wondering, the Stone Route cut takes 1 mushroom (not 0) and the Sunny Island shortcut doesn't take any mushrooms actually because of the speed mod. And last, GBA Bowser Castle 1 is actually supposed to be "SNES" and Headlong Highway is Headlong Skyway (obviously). It's easy to make a few mistakes when you have 200+ text boxes so please stop pointing them out, once is enough. lol

Alright I read it, but I have to ask, if MK8 turns out like MK7, do you have any backup plans if the backup server attempt is unsuccessful, or will you just continue with MK8?
I know this channel is Mario Kart-oriented and I'm sure most people want to keep seeing Mario Kart. I'm sure many would be upset to see the main game series your channel uploads not continue.
I personally will be getting MK8 (not on launch, but soon after), and I'm going to stick with it no matter what. If the backup server attempt is successful, I'll play both MK8 and MKW.
I don't know, just curious about what you have planned.
King Decimator I'm gonna play and make videos for MK8 when it releases and see how it is. Not sure what's going to be happening with mkw at that point (if custom servers are made) so I'm not sure what's going to happen with it.

I love the one at 7:48. Just how the vehicle moves in the air is awesome. The air physics of bikes (particularly the inside drifters) gave MKWii a very unique feel to it that I absolutely loved.
I remember watching this when I was 9.

Dunno if someone already made a comment like this. I was rewatching your video and noticed at 6:14 you used a shroom for that shortcut. That cut can be done shroomless on 150cc, but not on 100cc. I've done it before in CTWW many times. Also, like Nuke and Yankees said, the Pipe Underworld shortcut shown can be done with only 1 shroom.
I know you haven't been playing much, so just thought I'd let you know. Regardless, the video was still great and I can see how much work you put into it.
I assumed you could do Slot Circuit shroomless but you can cut off more with a shroom and it seems easier. I did not know you can get the pipe underworld one with 1 shroom though, the few times I tried, I came up quite a bit short
I always dream of seeing Troy in a worldwide lobby and racing him, but I guess I'll just have to keep on dreaming!

Hi Troy, I have at Christmas Dream found a shortcut when you come to the mushrooms to the booster and runs at the end of the boost to get through the fence and the tree and has five seconds saved sry for my bad english im german

+TWD98 if you get a really good angle and use shroom on the boost ramp, you can pull off the long pipe underworld cross-lake shortcut with 1 shroom but it would be like a half-star RvR. Oh and for the DS Waluigi Pinball 2-shroom cut, are you hitting the invisible wall at all, because I tried it and I keep hitting an invisible wall

The one on GBA Cheep Cheep Island is so broken, it makes sense that it got removed, same with all the GBA Yoshi Desert, even though they both shouldn't have been taken out. Rush City Run where you skip the turn that's super difficult is really cool, and the Moonlight Downtown Shortcut can be done shroomless, and now Icecream Sweetland got updated and made some sections really ugly.

Here is another scale of the stars
5 stars: This is a great little timesaver that even if you miss its not a big deal
4 stars: Still should go for these but you may fall off or have to drive back on the road.
3 stars: These shortcuts are nice but they could be the difference between win and loss.
2 stars: Don't go for these in a race because if you miss then you are in deep trouble.
1 star: Unless you have made this 5 times in a row in time trials don't go for these because if you miss it could bring you from first to LAST place.

I wonder if for the extras, there's some kind of additional skips that don't save much time on their own, but let you use them as legitimate Ultras due to skipping the key CPs that are before them.
On my CT, GBA Bowser Castle 2, remind me the best moment on my life on MKDS..

on SADX twinkle circuit, on the last corner mushroom whist climbing that hill thingy to the wall and hop on the end of corner and its kinda a shortcut

desert night sky cuts were awsome
- N64 Koopa Troopah Beach: you could get onto the wooden bridge w/o tricking i believe.
- GBA Broken Pier: I've heard it sc can be done shroomless but ChaosShadow23 will be fixing that anyway
- Molten Mountainway: If you ever saw the BKT (best known time) video, the guy gets a double trick into the hole; it's rare to get one of those consistent.
- The supposed GBA Bowser Castle 1 is actually SNES Bowser Castle 1 :p
- Desert Strip: There's a "hidden ramp" to the right of the actual ramp. I've heard you can skip part of the track with this?
- GBA Cheep Cheep Island: Same with rKTB, you don't need a trick to get onto the platforms. It's much faster to do it in this fashion.
- Slot Circuit: The 2nd shortcut shown in this video could also be done shroomless, though it's harder to do so.
