Just watching this because I really miss the jank these old custom tracks had, modern day custom tracks just don't have this every shortcut is just not possible or intended
This video was when i was introduced to custom tracks in Mario Kart Wii and i still remember how amazed i was at the time and it feels so nostalgic for some reason☺️
I love the one at 7:48. Just how the vehicle moves in the air is awesome. The air physics of bikes (particularly the inside drifters) gave MKWii a very unique feel to it that I absolutely loved.
***** Also err I cannot believe no one noticed this for so long, but I just noticed the course after the GBA Bowser Castle 2 shortcuts says its GBA Bowser Castle 1, but its SNES Bowser Castle 1.
Dunno if someone already made a comment like this. I was rewatching your video and noticed at 6:14 you used a shroom for that shortcut. That cut can be done shroomless on 150cc, but not on 100cc. I've done it before in CTWW many times. Also, like Nuke and Yankees said, the Pipe Underworld shortcut shown can be done with only 1 shroom. I know you haven't been playing much, so just thought I'd let you know. Regardless, the video was still great and I can see how much work you put into it.
9:54 You forgot to add the song "Sound of Infinity" in the video description! ;) Really nice shortcuts you found there! I didn't even know some of the non-glitch ones. I should have known them before I saw this video, but nope, I didn't. ^^
Top five favorites (not in any specific order) the one on pipe underworld, the second one on candy mountains, the one on subspace factory, the one on abyssal ruins, and the one on desert night sky.
- N64 Koopa Troopah Beach: you could get onto the wooden bridge w/o tricking i believe. - GBA Broken Pier: I've heard it sc can be done shroomless but ChaosShadow23 will be fixing that anyway - Molten Mountainway: If you ever saw the BKT (best known time) video, the guy gets a double trick into the hole; it's rare to get one of those consistent. - The supposed GBA Bowser Castle 1 is actually SNES Bowser Castle 1 :p - Desert Strip: There's a "hidden ramp" to the right of the actual ramp. I've heard you can skip part of the track with this? - GBA Cheep Cheep Island: Same with rKTB, you don't need a trick to get onto the platforms. It's much faster to do it in this fashion. - Slot Circuit: The 2nd shortcut shown in this video could also be done shroomless, though it's harder to do so.
Here is another scale of the stars 5 stars: This is a great little timesaver that even if you miss its not a big deal 4 stars: Still should go for these but you may fall off or have to drive back on the road. 3 stars: These shortcuts are nice but they could be the difference between win and loss. 2 stars: Don't go for these in a race because if you miss then you are in deep trouble. 1 star: Unless you have made this 5 times in a row in time trials don't go for these because if you miss it could bring you from first to LAST place.
The one on GBA Cheep Cheep Island is so broken, it makes sense that it got removed, same with all the GBA Yoshi Desert, even though they both shouldn't have been taken out. Rush City Run where you skip the turn that's super difficult is really cool, and the Moonlight Downtown Shortcut can be done shroomless, and now Icecream Sweetland got updated and made some sections really ugly.
I'm not an idiot. There was an earlier version of that track where the shortcut was unintentional. Obviously the creator saw the shortcut and decided to put in into the track.
+Weter 23 It was with the way you worded your first comment. I'm known as one of the top 3 smartass people in the community currently, so I just wrote that because I could. In other words I knew what you meant xD
Yea, you never disappoint me. You were the reason I started playing Mario Kart Wii constantly! You helped me find the best Wii game to play! Thanks so much for that! Hope I get lucky enough to race you one day! ;)
the last one prob took 98 tries that's why he put it. i can't wait to see your mk8 vids. you've had some practice already by playing the demo. you're already better than most of the U.S.
3:40 It says GBA Bowser Castle 1, when it should say SNES Bowser Castle 1 6:20 Here's a fun fact: That was an actual strategy used in the BKT of that track in Mario Kart DS. Very nice video, nonetheless. :)
Nintendo should make a Mario kart maker too
oh shit and u can play online to see other people make xD
and maps
hmmmmm what about someone make a mod for Super Mario Maker then we can call it Super Mario Kart Maker
Mkx White Online sounds bad. Remember in SMM when noob 7 year old who spam lil Mac dash attacks made incredibly bad levels? Yeah, same here.
Yeah but it would be really hard to make that not complicated, otherwise they would do a super mario 3D maker
i love rewatching these videos, it's great to see how much cts have changed since then
Here we see the boat taking a sharp U-turn, at 2:42

@@odhran4217Huh? I assume you're being sarcastic, but how so?

I'm curious to know, at the time of writing this comment (or now), how long did you know about custom tracks?
I found out about them in late 2015.
MOST NOSTALGIC VIDEO EVER!!! Thank you twd98 for blessing my eyes and ears with this masterpiece that has stood the test of time for 10 years.
That made me laugh 10:39 : Difficulty 98/10
I remember watching this when I was 9.
Brings back so many memories.
Still want more and want the rvr system back
This video and all the music in it is the some of the most nostalgic for me here on TH-cam.
5:14 I love how the person put a wall on the left so you couldn't do the shortcut from the ramp, but you can still do it after the ramp xD
Memories man
Candy Coaster! Making five-year-olds' dreams a MKWii reality since 2013!
That transition from Christmas Dream to Volcanic Pipeline
9:08 perfect timing👌

i remember watching this video so much as a kid
Heres what i like bout Troy here. He literally shows the one star shortcuts just to show us incase were behind and we can only take them :)
lol
***** Also err I cannot believe no one noticed this for so long, but I just noticed the course after the GBA Bowser Castle 2 shortcuts says its GBA Bowser Castle 1, but its SNES Bowser Castle 1.
+ArconisNova Read the description. The 1 star ones are actually the hardest
this video is so nostalgic omg.
Anyone here 6 years later?
SC Makers: Where do you want the shortcut to take you.🤔
Troy: Hmm... Over there🙂👉
SC Makers: But that’s halfway across the course.🤨
Troy: I know. 🤗
The first music was lit
I started playing MKWII in 2010. Online shut down in 2014. In October 2014, I installed CTGP & Played online in 2015.
Lol the doughnut shortcut at 8:56. That last shortcut looked cool too but looked insanely hard to pull off. Nice video, it was enjoyable to watch! :D
***** Speaking of that track, was that based off the movie Wreck It Ralph?
Nick Knowles'i' think so
*****
Me Too!
That shortcut on Christmas Dream…absolutely amazing o_o
I always dream of seeing Troy in a worldwide lobby and racing him, but I guess I'll just have to keep on dreaming!
Did that ever happen?
absolutely not@@NickMario1
Very old video yet still so good
The best of all expert shortcuts. All hail troys skills
You should make a video doing the RVR thing on all normal mkw tracks, that'd be pretty cool imo.
Dunno if someone already made a comment like this. I was rewatching your video and noticed at 6:14 you used a shroom for that shortcut. That cut can be done shroomless on 150cc, but not on 100cc. Well thank you man, I was looking for that name for ages (months). Now I finally know.
Some of these tracks look so sick, I’m surprised they haven’t made the cut for the more revent CTGP updates.
Troy, you make these shortcuts look easy
Sick shortcuts

That last one though :O
Another great video as always Troy, it's hard to wait for them but they're worth waiting for :D

Troy! I just gave my Wii away this Christmas and now I want it back to play this game so badly
My favorite was the one on stone route! Nice video troy

The transition at 7:29 is sneakily smooth

That last song brings back memories :) RTCT S1,best moments weekly (not 11 lol) and mt
In Cliff Village I like how the creator basically officially interpreted that shortcut into the track.
Ya. It was intended. Just like the starting mushroom cut on MG. idiots
I'm not an idiot. There was an earlier version of that track where the shortcut was unintentional. Obviously the creator saw the shortcut and decided to put in into the track.

Congrats on 40K subs!
Anyone else notice the addition of touhou music? it honestly made my day for some reason XD
the second one on slot circuit can actually be done shroomless if you get the mini-turbo and release it at the right time.
The first song is SO AWESOME!!!!!!!
the last one prob took 98 tries that's why he put it. i can't wait to see your mk8 vids. you've had some practice already by playing the demo. you're already better than most of the U.S.
lol yeah. i asked my grandma to preorder it for a 2 1/2 month late birthday present. i've heard mk8 has more preorders than the PS4 in Japan!
3:40 It says GBA Bowser Castle 1, when it should say SNES Bowser Castle 1
6:20 Here's a fun fact: That was an actual strategy used in the BKT of that track in Mario Kart DS.
Very nice video, nonetheless. :)
