Welcome to another episode of The Eight Nine Garage. The F150, aka "Hoss", finally gets a little attention with some 99-03 Lightning headlights. Amazon links are below for the products I used in this video, should you like to make any of these changes to your own F150!
For the clear Lightning headlights, you can purchase them from aftermarket suppliers, such as Amazon (see link below). The Lightning headlights are a popular upgrade for the F150 as they provide better visibility and a more modern and clean look. Installation is fairly simple and involves removing the old headlights and simply putting in the new Lightning pieces - unless you have an early 97 like me.
I opted to replace the grille so that it complements the Lightning headlights. My original grille was broken. You can purchase an aftermarket grille or opt for a Ford OEM grille. This upgrade simply means removing the old grille and replacing with the new one. It's important to ensure that the new grille fits properly and does not obstruct any necessary airflow.
Overall, these upgrades can give your 10th Generation Ford F150 a more modern and aggressive look. It's important to take your time during installation and ensure that everything is fitting properly and securely.
Here is a list of things that I used, or items you may need to aid you in install and upgrade:

Looking good buddy. You are welcome. Glad you finally put those to good use. (AK)
It took me a bit to finally "just do it". LOL, now it's on to other fixes for the old boy. Lot's of rust spots need help.
Yeah buddie. Excited to see what the next episode has for us hehehe. Also need to get me one of those headlight tools.
Same here, it should benefit you.... no matter what vehicle you have. That tool is very handy - link is in the description if you're looking for one.
That looks really really good.
Thank you so much!!
incredibly detailed install video, and the end result is a huge improvement, great job!
Thanks so very much my friend!
Wow that looks way way better. 👍💸
I think so too! Thank you!!
Turned out better then I thought it would when you told me about it. Looks factree.
Thank you, I'm glad it meets your qualifications Bud, LOL!
Always wanted one of those real lightnings.
You and me both. They are super sweet trucks!
me too.
Just to help people who aren't changing the upper surround panel, but want to change the fog lights. There are 4 22mm nuts holding the bumper after you unclip the lower splash panel. It takes about 4 minutes to remove the bumper, lay it on the ground and remove the fog lamps easily. Took me 15 minutes originally to put those newfogs into Blue. These GEN 10s are really easy to work on other than the core support upfront.
GREAT info! I almost started putting it back together with the header panel and the grille. Then I looked down and said "I'll be dipped"... That was pretty easy going from the top.
Like way better. My only other complaint with the 97-99 is the front bumper. I think the 2000+ bumper looks cleaner. Personal opinion, which really means nothing👍
Thank you! The bumper is indeed a little sleeker / cleaner on the newer trucks. I would swap to one if it didn't leave the gap under the grille.
This gen of truck is riliable. The next one is no good with them three valve tritons.
Yeah, they are solid rigs. I'm very happy with mine. It's been a great truck.
I've got a 97, just turned 229,000!
Good looking truck man nice updates! And foxes!
Thank you so much! I really appreciate it.
@@89G you're welcome and after seeing the early 97 style of your lights I to wish ford kept that style I have a 03 and never knew that until now
@@MustangGuy6501 I'm not sure why they'd change it. Probably cost them less. 😆
Looks so nice! What kind of lights are those inside of grill?💪🏽
Thank you! That exact model is no longer made, but these are very close: amzn.to/3KAh6RJ
Nice work. used to have a 98 Expedition with the same setup/color. Love Pacific Green Metallic.
Thank you! I used to have a 98 Expy as well. I think that color was called Vermont Green. Much lighter green than my truck.
Good one.
Thank you sir!
What is that part called I what to see if I can find one for my truck
@dannyfirmin8829 can you be more specific? I'll be glad to help if I can understand what your looking at.
