Nice, they sure don't give you a lot of room to maneuver through that little access port.
Heck no they don't. Lol. Little car problems! 🤣
Thanks man. Great video. I run a mobile oil change business and I’m seeing more and more cheaply made and counterfeit oil filters out there.
Thank you for watching and adding your experiences. The counterfeit auto parts debacle is getting really bad. Spark plugs are a huge one too. I appreciate you tuning in!
Great vid... thnx
You're welcome! Thank you for watching.
Do you know that location flasher relay? Thanks
There is no relay. It's actually ran in the Smart Junction Box. When it's "clicking", you are actually hearing a speaker making the sound. If you have a blinker on while the seat belt chime is going off, you will notice that the SJB will silence the flasher sound.
So those things are installed buy dealerships that are selling cars in case you don't pay. I bought a vehicle was looking for the fuse box and that's what I found. awesome video. Thanks. And I'll be following you now. After all I can tell you are a Ford guy
@briankalfus598 I am indeed! I love the blue oval. Thank you for the feedback and sharing your experience!
@@89G yeah man I bought my wife this 2010 Ford flex I was looking for the fuse box and that's what I found and that's the first thing I thought of took a picture, it took me to your video and that is what I'm taking out right now.
@briankalfus598 mine would randomly start honking, flashing lights. Sometimes wouldn't unlock with the remote. And when you did open it with a key, it would go nuts - and also not want to start. My Wife was ready to get rid of the car, lol. I am pretty sure that's why the previous owner traded it in.
This video just saved me! I was able to install it after watching just once because you explained it so well. Thank you for doing this!
@kristalcaldwell8397 thanks so much for the feedback. I am so happy it was able to help you!
Same for 4 lug?
How do you change the other 2
Started the video with a blooper. 😅 Thanks for the entertaining and informational video.
Lol, man... I'll never do that again! Thank you for watching! Much appreciated.
@ I think you should! It is an attention getter. Lots of TH-camrs leave them at the end, but I think you should have one at the beginning for uniqueness. 😉
😂😂 good fix! What washer fluid do you use? I recently bought some of the concentrated stuff on amz that supposedly makes 32 gallons, seems ok but I end up mixing it up in high concentrations because I don't trust the anti-freezing.
I believe that is the Walmart Supertech. I usually use Rain-X in the winter, but that is orange in color. Chances are, that's all the Walmart gas station had when I filled it up last winter, lol. It is a winter formula.... but I like the Rain-X much because it's also a very good De-Icer. I'm interested in what you're using.... do you have a link? I'm always good for buying auto supplies in bulk!
@89G it's called quix mix. I think links get removed in comments. You have to add your own methanol if you want wintertime mix though. In 1 gallon I did like 1/3 methanol, 1/2 oz of the stuff, and the rest water. I don't think it really saves any money tbh
@@SleazysGarage I'll look that up.... where do you source your methanol? I've never researched that. When I was in High School, I had to do an "alternative fuels" report for auto mechanics. Methanol was one of them, but I'll be damned if I can remember from that far back (1992ish).
@@89G I have a gallon I bought on a whim a while ago from the local welding supply for removing water from old gas. Didn't use much though so it mostly sat. Im sure amz sells it but it's probably expensive because shipping fuel. I'd imagine hd or Lowe's would have it too.
Follow up to my previous comment. I ended up replacing the condenser, compressor switch, expansion valve and ac relays. I wanted to make sure i covered all the bases. Now about to get her gassed up. I wouldn't have had the confidence to do the work without watching your videos. Thankyou again.
That means a lot to me. Thank you very much for your comments. I'm so impressed with what you accomplished!!
@89G Yeh, i impressed myself! I'll be more impressed if it actually holds a charge, but i made sure to go back and triple check everything before closing the system. Fingers crossed at this point!
Can i keep it 4 lug?
Unfortunately, no. The knuckle has much different between the two.
Had new tires put on last year and now I'm hit with a dead sensor in one of the tires. This was perfect to turn off the warning light. Now to dig out my receipt and see if the sensors were replaced when the tires were done.
@@my2k2zx2 I sure hope so! I definitely don't want to remove the tires to replace the sensors!
shout out dave!
Thanks for taking the time to make this video! This is exactly what I needed. Appreciate it, man.
I appreciate the feedback, and I am glad it helped you out! Thanks for watching!
fyi that is a pwm module to vary the speed. that small white wire would be the pwm wire
@tufgriz8917 thank you!
Great video! For me changing automatic transmission fluid is usually waaaay messier than that. I bought a cheapo amz brand of one of those vacuum tools but havent taken it out of the box yet. Looks super useful.
They are really handy. Is it by chance the Four Uncles branded tool?
@89G I think it is! know anything about it?
@@SleazysGarage I don't have any experience with that one, but I did see it on Amazon. It wasn't clear if it also dispensed fluid, however. I do have a Four Uncles A/C flush kit, and it worked great.
Was the pan gasket reusable or did you get a new one?
@@iwejun it is a reusable metal core gasket. Great question!
Great how to my friend! You always have the coolest tools, I need a pump like that 😎
@@MrBlitzkrieg1987 it's very handy! Thanks for watching. Hey... did you see the question I tagged you in on my Explorer upper intake video? It's regarding CA emissions.
@ let me go back and check that! I must have missed it
@MrBlitzkrieg1987 thank you! I'm not qualified to answer for certain.
Heading home from church to watch this! 🙌🏻
Much appreciated! Thank you so much.
After doing all this, will it pass Califorrnia smog?
I believe that it should. I would bet that Luis @MrBlitzkrieg1987 would be able to tell us for sure. Can you help there, Luis?
Hey there I live in Cali as well! So it turns out there are two different versions of the explorer intake, the early 96-97 have the provisions for smog, but later ones do not! You can tell them apart because the lower intake will have a boss on runner #5 where you can drill to install the AIT sensor, if it has that, the intake will also have the other stuff you’ll need for the smog.
@@MrBlitzkrieg1987 Thanks Luis! I knew you'd be the right guy to ask!
I just replaced mine last night and now I’m hearing a grinding noise when I make a tight, slow turn. I followed the same procedure. I did have to undo my sway bar, that was the only difference. Not sure what I did wrong 🥲
@@ceciliatrevino8524 check and make sure the backing plate didn't get bent. I just had this happen on my Toyota... the backing plate was ever-so-slightly touching the rotor, making a grinding noise.
@@89G thank you !!🙌🏽
@ceciliatrevino8524 no worries. Let me know!
Ok. I'm stuck 6pm the driver side mount that's under the air box. I got the old out, but I can't get the long bolt that goes through the rubber part of the mount to line up. I loosened all the screws, including the ones you pointed out that you said you did off camera. Any recommendations?
You can try raising the motor with a jack (use a block of wood to span across the pan) and get it in a better position. It's likely the motor is sagging a bit, and this is causing your bolt alignment issue.
Tried that a second time and finally got it. Now onto the passenger side, the bolt that goes down the middle of the rubber, just spins and spins and won't come. Any advice on that? I hate working on cars, not 1 time did a job go the way it's supposed to. 😅
@billhill5181 oh dear! I think you should be able to take off the 4 nuts that hold the pedestal on the motor, then the 3 bolts holding it on the fender apron/subframe, then remove it as an assembly. The I'm guessing the mount is destroyed, and the center is just spinning within the rubber. Hopefully you can get it into a vice or something to get that bolt out! (Hopefully I am understanding you correctly)
Yup, that's what I ended up doing. Sorry for the late reply. Thanks again for all the help. I'm now getting a pretty strong shutter when stopped in drive and more so when stopped in reverse. So I clearly effed something up. You live in Ohio by chance? 😅
@@billhill5181 Unfortunately, no, lol. I'm in Utah. Did you replace all 4, or just the 2 we talked about so far?

What's the size on the wheel bearing to press the seal?
Great question. It's a 70 mm sleeve that is part of my wheel bearing service kit. Thank you!!
Thanks for this video working on it now it might work
@gordon83hilton71 good luck! Let us know how you come out. Thanks for the feedback!
Where's the ACT ?? It has to be in the intake runner or you'll get erroneous readings.
It's in the air box.
If I here a clunk noise when shifting into drive or reverse, as well as when down shifting, would the mounted be the most likely cause? It started out of nowhere, and I haven't noticed a difference in the transmission, seems to stop be doing good.
It could be. The best thing to do is have someone shift it (brake on, obviously) for you while you watch and listen under the hood. I'd say you have a pretty high chance of one or more mounts being bad though. When one goes out, it puts a lot more strain on the others. Thanks for watching! Hopefully that helps you?
Thank you, as a 51 yr old woman, I just replaced my own blower motor by myself!

@@technicalitems731 I'll look... get back to you as soon as i get home
Just looked.... all three relay receptacles have all 5 pins open. Sounds like yours had an issue with the molding process?
I agree with every mod you talked about, 3g alternator, fan, the Volvo pump (I still need that), head and intake swaps! The only thing I would add to your list is rear end gears! That is the 1 thing I recommend over any other performance mod on a fox or sn95 and you can find gears at the junkyard now 😎🤘. Always a pleasure watching your videos Shane, you are sincerely one of my favorite mustang TH-cam channels

My 89 won't stay running no matter how many turns I give the idle screw any ideas I'd hate to just start throwing parts at it.
@@TallStarlite are there any vacuum leaks?
@@89G None as I checked and plugged what I found. When I installed a new intake gasket. I did here that a car with a Cam would not run with it unplugged. It might have a cam because it looks like it was drag raced at some point in its life because its got subframe connectors, rear tubular control arms, headers & h-pipe. Also It appears to emissions & Oxygen sensors deleted as well.
