The 2 most exciting teams i ever saw were Brazil 70 nd Holland 74. A crying shame they didn't win the world cup (or make up for this in 78) but the memories of their beautiful and wonderful total football are something we should all be grateful for. Cruyff, Neeskens, Krol, and the whole great team we salute you..
@alkazoo I've seen the goal, what a beauty. Cruyff was manager of Ajax in 1986 but not playing, his club career finished with Feyernoord in 1984. But, having said that, i think you are correct to say they had a season together at Ajax. This was in the 1982-83 season when Van Basten was at the very start of his football career and Johan was in the last season of his Ajax return. I can't be sure but the no 7 in this clip could be Johnny Bosman
@alkazoo If you mean Cruyff then he retired from international football in 1977. If you mean Neeskens then he retired after the 1982 World Cup. I think your looking for a player called Gerald Vanenburg (ex Ajax and PSV), he had squad number seven in the Euro 88 squad. The 1974 suad though are one of my all time favourite teams along with Brazil 1970 and 1982, West Germany's 1974 squad and a few club teams as well. Love Football!!!!!
@alkazoo Jongboed in goal, then a back four of Krol, Haan, Rijsbergen and Suurbier, a three man midfield of Van Hanegem, Neeskens and Jansen and three up front, Renesenbrink, Cruyff and Rep. Suurbier, Krol, Haan, Neeskens, Rep and Cruyff all played for Ajax in their Three times European cup winning teams from 1971, 72 and 73, although Cruyff left for Barcelona after their 1973 win over Juventus.
Ajax 1972-73 was the strongest footbal club in the european history..They would have beaten every team in their prime. Real,Benfica,Inter you name it..Ajax team had not weak point. very strong ,impenetrable defence ,perfect midfield and ver dangerous forward..It was a rolling ,unstoppable machine !!!
@FORBAN2 Milan early late 80's would of given them a run for there money, they played a great brand of football plus there defence was awesome as was there midfield and forward line, the irony in my comment is that van basten, rijkaard, and guillit were all dutch lol
A good team, but sadly the Germans had a better one that time around. Cruyff was the best Dutch player of all time but the Germans weren't without their stars: Gerd "built in goal guarantee" Müller and Franz "der Kaiser" Beckenbauer. The next european championships will be a huge tournament with Holland, Germany and Spain all having the best teams they have had for a long time with the other three bigs (England, France and Italy) wanting to prove themselves.
mensen we zitten in de halve finale en gaan het toernooi winnen , maar dan zijn we niet meer het beste team dat nooit een wk won, maar daar heb ik schijt aan . al the people from the world we are in the semi s right now and i fink that we are going to win the tournament but then we are no more the best team that never won a wc but fuck that
@gelebeer: No shit Sherlock!

thanks four putting this up, it's clean also.
a dream matchup would be holland 74/ brasil 82 two of the greatest teams never to win.
@ShamWasBetter
Its an honor to speak to an eye-witness of the event :).
"Total Football", hahaha... geweldige letterlijke vertaling!

Total football will never die. As u can see, people still talk about it. For me, that's enough. HOLLAND RULES!
Hungary 1954
Holland 1974
Brazil 1982
These teams didn't win the WC, but they are one of the best of all time.
The team that has expressed the most beautiful game of all time.....even if it didn't win!

Cruijff's influence(as a player, trainer) is everywhere,so that makes him the only soccer genius
why did i have to miss this
